 One Sided Limit
Given the defined function 𝑓 at the open interval 𝐼 = (a,b).
1) The limit function 𝑓 for 𝑥 approaching 𝑏 from the left is 𝐿 , written :

lim 𝑓
𝓍→𝑏 −

If for each number ℇ > 0 there is a 𝛿 > 0 number so that if

0 < 𝑏 − 𝑥 < 𝜀 applies ∥ 𝑓(𝑥) − 𝐿 ∥< 𝜀

2) The limit function 𝑓 for 𝑥 approaching 𝑎 from the right is 𝐿 , written :

lim 𝑓(𝑥) = 𝐿
𝓍→𝑎+

If for each number ℇ > 0 there is a 𝛿 > 0 number so that if

0 < 𝑎 − 𝑥 < 𝜀 applies ∥ 𝑓(𝑥) − 𝐿 ∥< 𝜀

Limit function relationship with one sided limit

The function 𝑓 is defined in the opening interval 𝐼 which 𝑥 = 𝑐 , expect maybe in 𝑐
Itself.
Function 𝑓 is said to have a limit at 𝑥 = 𝑐 , if
a) lim− 𝑓(𝑥) there are (finite) ;
𝓍→𝑐
b) lim+ 𝑓(𝑥) there are (finite) ; and
𝓍→𝑐
c) lim− 𝑓(𝑥) = lim+ 𝑓(𝑥)
𝓍→𝑐 𝓍→𝑐

 Limit of Trigonometri
The basic limit of trigonometri are devired using trigonometry formula.

tan 𝓍
\Example : Prove it lim =1
𝓍→0 𝓍

tan 𝓍 sin 𝓍⁄ sin 𝓍 1

cos 𝓍
lim = lim = lim . lim = 1. 1 = 1
𝓍→0 𝓍 𝓍→0 𝓍 𝓍→0 𝓍 𝓍→0 cos 𝓍
