Wear the transmitter daily!


So that students can optimally hear your instruction!

1) Before using, charge the transmitter for 24 hours. Connect the charging plug to the small
hole on the base marked DC. Students will do this in a central location.

2) To turn on, press and hold Circle Button.


Check to make sure you get correct channel-Use up/down arrows to change
(you must hold it for a second for it to start changing)
To lock the channel to number “65” so it can’t accidentally be bumped you can press the
bottom two buttons (the down arrow and the one with curved lines) and HOLD
them until you see a stick man appear. Then it is locked and the channel cannot be
changed. To unlock, repeat these steps.

Clip transmitter to belt/pocket

3) Ask students if they hear you tapping on the microphone


If not, check to be sure battery is fully charged
Check to be sure their FM Receiver is turn to the “’two” dots
Check to be sure you are on the correct channel
Check to be sure their amplifier is on and has the MicroLink Receiver attached

4) If you leave the classroom be sure to turn your transmitter to OFF so students don’t hear
your private conversations.

5) When class is over, turn transmitter off by pressing and holding the circle and return to the
designated student.

6) At the end of each day, students will plug transmitter into charger. You cannot overcharge
the systems, but if you forget to charge the system, you CANNOT use Alkaline batteries. It
takes a VERY special battery that only Phonak uses. When it is plugged in the charger, check to
see that battery indicator is flashing in sequence.

Each Morning: Remove Personal Aids
Place in Star Cabinet
Put on FM Amplifiers
Unplug Transmitter and put in Zipper Case to give to teachers!
Each Afternoon: Remove FM system
Place in Star Cabinet
Put on your personal hearing aids to go home!
FM AMPLIFIERS/RECEIVERS DO NOT GO HOME!

IV. Groups/Channels
Each Student has an assigned channel

For each class, decide who will give the transmitter to the teacher. At the end
Of class, get the transmitter and put in the zipper case. At the end of the day, plug in
the transmitter to charge for the next day.

If you need to change channels to match the teacher, stand close to the teacher while
they press the “sound wave” button to change your channel.

V. COST
Each set you wear on each ear costs $1000! The teacher’s microphone is $750. So when
you leave the classroom, you are carrying $2750 worth of equipment. That is enough to
buy two laptop computers!!!!! Batteries will be in the STAR Cabinet!
