JUSTIFICATION : to maintain standard temperature in the QC instrument and
chemical stock rooms

SITUATION ANALYSIS:

1. What is the current situation? What are the problems encountered?

Air condition units installed in Laboratory instrument and chemical stock rooms cannot be used
because they are already corroded beyond repair.

2. What is the immediate / long range consequence if the situation remains the
same?

Degradation of chemical reagents and damage to laboratory equipment (e.g.

spectrophotometer, Dewpoint analyzer) will result.

3. What are the benefits (direct / indirect) to be derived from the project? What
happens to the items that will be replaced?

Replacement of the damaged air condition units will extend shelf-life and delay/prevent
deterioration of laboratory chemicals and prevent malfunctions on lab equipment.

Old equipment are severely corroded and shall be turned over to Mat/Engg as scrap.
