NLPSC’s very own physician, Manuel D. Cadacio,MD,FICS, recently passed the arduous
examination for the Philippines section of the International College of Surgeons. He got
subsequently inducted as Fellow of the International College of Surgeons.

As quoted from the information on their official global site , “The International College
of Surgeons (ICS) is a global organization dedicated to bringing together surgeons and surgical
specialists of all nations , races and creeds to promote surgical excellence for the benefit of all
of mankind and to foster fellowship worldwide. “Furthermore, it is dubbed as “the only non-
governmental organization representing surgery that has an official relationship with the World
Health Organization.” It being such a world-renowned and prestigious organization ,therefore ,
being qualified alone for it is not only an immensely honor , it also requires its own brand of
hard work , dedication to this particular line of work , and a preceding reputation of flying
colors and steadfast career – things that , as it happens , Dr. Cadacio is not at all unfamiliar
with.

Dr. Cadacio is a cum laude graduate of Far Eastern University with a bachelor’s degree in
Psychology. He furthered his studies and took his medical course from the same university,
becoming Doctor of Medicine. For several years he practiced his profession as a surgeon and
underwent training in Veterans Memorial Medical Center, an accredited hospital in surgery. A
devoted pursuant of knowledge and self-advancement, he qualified for the aforementioned
organization and passed its examination. This achievement is no ordinary feat, even among
already distinguished surgeons. The exam was oral and covered other specialties in medicine
besides surgery. It was administered by notable doctors, with Dr. Carlito Arenas – President ICS,
Dr. Lauro San Jose – Governor, a neuro surgeon and Dr. Juan Sison –the Immediate Past
President as panel members. Despite what would definitely seem like intimidating factors to
others, Dr. Cadacio passed the exam and obtained the honor being a Fellow of the
International College of Surgeons.

When asked if there is a motto or principle that he lives by , the doctor chalked up yet
another inspirational quality about him besides his diligence and intellect when he responded
with ,”Family First”. Needless to say, the college is more than proud and honored to have him.
Congratulations Doc!
