Responsibilities as Laboratory director

 Develop goals, objectives, standards of performance, policies and


procedures.
 Ensure the lab follows all accrediting regulations.
 Recruit, hire, train and coach new employees.
 Interpret and communicate new or revised policies to staff.
 Review customer’s feedback to prioritize areas of improvement.
 Cooperate and communicate effectively with physicians to ensure
client satisfaction and compliance with standards.
 Assign employee areas, staff breaks and authorize overtime.
 Order supplies from different distributers.
 Continually improve knowledge, skills and performance based on
feedback and self-identified professional developmental needs.
 Monitors and improve the workflow of the laboratory.
 Reviews test results, follows-up on abnormal and critical values.
 Establishes and maintains a routine documented schedule of quality
control and quality assurance

Responsibilities as Laboratory technician

 Work in the following areas: phlebotomy, blood bank, urine and


stool analyses, coagulation, hematology, chemistry, serology,
genetics and cytogenetics lab.
 Prepare specimens for analysis, perform lab tests and create the
proper order priorities in testing.
 Complete and submit clinical documentation.
 Consistently adhere to all applicable regulations, policies and
procedures for health, safety and environmental compliance.
 Inspect equipment and systems to identify issues and report
problems to repair technicians.
 Excellent commands of PCR techniques (Conventional and Real Time
SPECIAL quantitative PCR).
EXPERIENCE  Chromosomal study skills and detection of chromosomal aberrations
 Cell culturing and harvesting.
 Ability to perform and analyze complex multicolor flow cytometry
analysis
