ARC 413 – Fall, 2018-2019

Photography and Architecture

Ali Taptık
taptika@mef.edu.tr

The course offers an introduction to essential photographic concepts and techniques.

In addition, the relationship between photography and architecture will be examined
through historical and contemporary examples, while discussions on the interaction
of these two practices will remain as the primary goal.
For a practice-based learning process, each student (or group of students) will be
choosing a different building or an urban area to be re-discovered / explored using
advances in photography. At the end of the semester, each student is expected to
design a small printed matter which will present the research to share it with
colleagues.
