GEOLOGY OF MINES 2
I. INTRODUCTION
Employing the Operating binomial Man - Machine operation with cabinet work
starts, then the appropriate permissions to departments or areas involved for
drilling and meet safety standards and avoid possible incidents and proper
accidents of this type of coordinates operations.
GEOLOGY OF MINES 3
Security is a key and important factor in production, we could say the
magic word is SAFETY
1) Helmet
2) Sefuridad lenses
3) Plugs hate
4) Face shield
5) Nozzle dust
6) gloves
7) Waterclothes
8) Rubber boots or safety shoes

III. COORDINATIONS
work with the approval of the Department. Geology, which after reviewing and
verifying the location and work area, authorizes and coordinates the preparation of
qualified personnel, equipment and the necessary equipment to begin drilling
starts.
Coordination with the Chief Operating Officer and manage the respective permits
enabling access to support staff assigned to his office and to ease the earthworks
and drilling equipment.

IV. PREPARATIONS
Check point location with contractor personnel Diamantina and Ing. Drilling
Supervisor
Moving the Diamantina machine, observed the staff of the Diamantina contractor
taking security measures to proceed to the mobilization of their securing by tying
teams, then the Chief of Operations communicates the movement of equipment to
have knowledge of places where it is mobilizing heavy machinery and there is no
collision or accident.
GEOLOGY OF MINES 6
Machine installation at the point; Contractor personnel adapts the machinery comfort for a
good job responsibly and safely maintaining the drilling horizontally helps hydraulic jacks
and wooden dowels.
Storage well drilling mud, avoiding any kind of contamination of the environment

V. DRILLING
Diamond drilling: Responsible for obtaining the control drilling (or core sample).
Diamantina main objective is to obtain the sample with the greatest possible recovery and
representativeness:
And then it continues with the empty sample (Cores) in gutters; after the sample is
washed and placed in boxes for the respective transfer

VI. TREATMENT OF SAMPLES
In the field witnesses boxes (which are provided by diamond drilling washed, listed
and metradas) is received, and then be transferred to the area Sampling.
As the material of the box that may be cardboard or plastic, with their respective
design and conditioned to carry Core samples, which are distributed in a separator
5 channels of 61 cm each. For these separators depending on the perforation lines
HQ and NQ are changed.
The first run should be adjusted to the bank, this means that the first run should be
of a length such that the subsequent runs (constant) at its top match a bank every
15 m. Determining we find two cases.
a. Vertical drill:
We proceed as follows:
Lift coordinates and elevation drill collar; Once the elevation level nearest
downward bank is subtracted; if the core drilling HQ was started and began
with a tricone below the perforated tricone.
We must consider two cases:
When drilling began with tricone, detrital material is bagged and drilling
meterage with tricone is marked, this footage will serve as the basis of the
first sample and the first run (if drilling is interrupted or have two bags of
detritus each one is a sample and therefore a run), considering the length of
drilling tricone and the difference between the collar and the level of the
bank began to adjust runs from bench level (below the tricone) backwards
every 3 meters per run, reaching the drilled tricone and then forward to the
end of the bore.
GEOLOGY OF MINES 9
b. Inclined drill:
We proceed as follows:
Lift coordinates and elevation of the drill collar.
Be subtracted collar level first bank down and the difference is divided by
the sine of the angle of inclination, the result will be the top of a run (to
reach the first or bank).
As our runs vertically are each 3 meters. 3 is divided from within the angle
which will be a constant interval run.
Topping the tying run with the first bank is subtracted to reach a constant
sections (run) with tricone drilling and then adds the constant to continue
building the sections of runs to the end of the bore.
VIII. CONCLUSIONS
Upon completion of these campaigns is to make the most of all the information from
the various campaigns that have served to delineate the body of mineralization, define
geological contacts, evaluate unstable areas, obtain testing laws, RQD, rock hardnnes
lndex, specific gravity and making metallurgical testing.
