About this ebook

Our most powerful weapon is prayer.

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

Put on the whole armour of God that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

One of the things, we must understand is, what is the whole armour of God. The whole armour of God is the Word of God and His Word is transitioned back to Him through prayer. When placed in the hands of a believer Prayer will become the ultimate defense against disobedience, sin and the works of Satan. We find that the principalities, ungodly powers, the works of the rulers of darkness, and the works of spiritual wickedness in high places , tends to encapsulate the people who neglect to pray.

The works of the enemy is to kill steal and destroy. But the Word of God is to bring forth life and deliverance. We all know that the enemy entices the heart of man and provokes him to sin. This usually happens because man fails to utilize the privileges that God has given him to come into the divine connection of prayer. It is time to pray so that the things that exist within our lives that is not of God can be turned around. We have got to pray before anything can be truly fulfilled in our life. Remember it is only whats of God that is going to last.

It is said that we are drifting into a recession and the burst of an economical crisis is trying to consume the land. But when man decide to release his hands and truly pray and allow the hands of God flourish the land we will see the dynamics turn in the favor of God.

If my people which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. (2Chronicles 7:14 KJV)

    DEDICATIONS

First, I would like to dedicate this book back to God, who allowed the bountiful blessing of His Holy Spirit to inspire my heart to write these prayers. It is the Spirit of God that influnces our lives to be like Him. It is His Spirit that empowers and strengthens us to think and adhered to the things of God. It is only by His power and His might that our hearts are encouraged to speak His Words and gives the great inspiration to write His Words. It is through and by the Spirit of God that teaches us to pray.

My desire is for the reader to use this book as a guide, for prayer, inspiration and encouragement. I pray that it can be learned from the Psalmist how to use Gods Word for prayer and how to adhere to the will of God. For it is important to stay in His will.

This book is dedicated to both of my sons and their wives and especially my loving grandchildren my inheritance & responsibility for making this book possible.

    PREFACE

There are many people living in today’s society trapped in bondage situations. But yet we live from day to day not realizing that we are in bondage. We have a desire to be free and we try to live our life as if we are free but yet there are many entrapments surrounding us. We as humans fail to realize that even thou we live in a physical body the Spiritual means are still in operation. It is the Spirit that controls the physical body. That is why when Paul talks about Spiritual warfare he says, Finally my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might. One of the important things we must understand is that God is all power and we have got to allow God’s power to resided within our life. We have to be able to discern what is God and what is not of God so that the power of God can take control of every circumstance in our life. In other words you have got to hold on to the Lord no matter what the circumstances may be. Even when it looks as thou everything around you is failing it is the maturity of the power of God within you that help you to overcome every circumstance. And in the power of His might, means that the word of God and his power has become settled and rooted within in your heart so that no matter what forces come against you it will not prosper nor can it destroy you. It is important for us to be rooted and grounded in the word of God. Because when trouble comes we should be able to speak Gods word over that situation and it is God’s Word that will destroy the things that are not like God. That is why the Word of God say’s that it is the Anointing that destroys the yoke. The yoke can be classified as the burdens, the barriers, the hurt, the pain, sickness, death, trials, the tribulations, and the adversities of life. Paul tells us, to put on the full armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil." And that lets us know that the full armor is His Word and everything else that God equip us with. For we are not wrestling or fighting against flesh and blood but there are spiritual adversities at war. Surely with our physical eyes we see the physical transitions but that is not were the actual war is coming from. The actual war is coming from spiritual forces that we harbor within our hearts, such as, division, discord, disunity, rebellion, disobedient, confusion, envy, jealousy, gossip, slander, evil speaking, filty communication coming out of our mouths and vain glory. This is only to name a few. There are many more spiritual adversities that we can talk about. Believe it or not but we hold these spiritual adversities within our hearts and they war heavily against each other each and every day we live.

In 2nd Timothy 2:9 Paul expresses to Timothy, Where I suffer trouble, as an evil doer, even unto bonds; but the word of God is not bound. In other words what he is telling Timothy is that regardless of whatever the circumstances may be God’s Word is able to destroy the bondage. As a believer in Christ it is important for us to have the Word of God down in us. It is only God’s Word that moves through us and God’s Word and only God’s Word is able to help us to overcome the adversities of life.

The bondage of sickness is what seems to be heavily consuming people throughout the world. There is sickness and pain in all cultures and societies. But what we need to understand is that there is a root or cause for all things that occur in our lives. We have got to study the Biblical text and get an understanding on why these certain things occur in our life. I am not telling you to ask God why. But ask God to give you an understanding of the things of life and to reveal to you how He would like for you to conduct your life. Of all things you need to get and understanding on how to do the things in everyday life the way God has designed it to be.

The purpose of this book is to help you to see how God works through prayer. We must first understand that prayer is the divine communication between man and God. The central focus in the book of Psalms is how David kept an open line of communication with God. Within every circumstance of David’s life he never failed to commune with God. We have got to learn to talk to God. This is a process and it is a learned process. In this book I will be using the prayers listed in the book of Psalms to show you how the Psalmist life was affected by praying to God. These same prayers the Psalmist used we can use. I would like for the readers of this book to select a prayer that applies to your circumstance and pray it daily or two or three time a day to see if your want change. I do believe that if you convert your focus to God and his Word you will see a change in your life.

I pray that everyone who reads this book can get an understanding of what was happening with the Psalmist and how he communicated with God in order to be delivered from his circumstances. I also pray that God will reveal himself to you in a way so that you can understand how to use the Word of God to bring about changes within your life. May the Lord answer the prayers of each the reader

    INTRODUCTION

The book of psalms consist of hymns of prayers, deliverance of the children of Israel before and after the exile, history, prophecy, Instruction, distress, praise, trust, promise, hope, confessions, testimony and judgment. Various authors implemented the book of Psalms. The book of Psalms and its entirety is a collection that was used by Israel during their praise and worship. The prayers that were invoked within the Psalms are seen as being both national and personal. From the foundation of the Christian Church, the book of Psalms has been noted as the Treasured Book of Worship.

    There are seven types of Psalms noted in the Bible;

    I. Individual and communal lament Psalms: This is when the believer prays to God for deliverance. When the believer comes under the spiritual bondage of desperation and despair he acknowledges there is a need to pray to God for deliverance.

II. Thanksgiving Psalms: When we think of the goodness of Jesus and all that He has done in our lives that calls for a praise of thanksgiving. Whatever we pray for we should always remember to give God thanks. No matter what the circumstances may be always thank God first. Remember when the praises go up the blessings will come down.

III. Enthronement Psalms: This type of Psalms gives the basic description of the Sovereign rule of God over the universe and man. The Bible plainly tells us that the Omnipotent (all powered), Omnicient (all knowing), Omnipresent (always present) God created the universe and man. And He rules and reigns sovereignly over all of His creation.

IV. Pilgrimage Psalms: As the various worshipers would journey over the land into Jerusalem for Jewish Festival Celebrations they would sing hymns and praises to God. The reading of these Psalms gives us a better understanding of our need to exalt God with hymns and praises throughout life’s journey.

    V. Royal Psalms: These type Psalms helps us to have a better picture in seeing God as being both heavenly and earthly king over Israel. We can see Him sitting in the heavens but yet looking down upon the earth. We know that His eyes are like a sparrow and He watches over us each and every day of our life. Therefore this gives us more reason to submit ourselves to Him and allow Him to take sovereign reign over our life. Psalms 18:16 David said; He reached down from on high and took hold of me; He drew me out of a deep waters. He rescued me from my powerful enemy, from my foes, who were too strong for me.

VI. Wisdom Psalms: gives guidance and directions in the way that God would have us to go. If we trust the Lord with all our heart and lean not to our own understanding, and in all of our ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct our paths. Because a good mans steps are ordered by the Lord.
