Industry
YOUNG’S MODULUS.
• Nanoindentation technique can be used to test
nearly all materials in automotive industry: tires,
paints, engine, headlights, etc.
• Nanoindentation tests with NanoGuru system will
give you the values of YOUNG’S MODULUS.
FRACTURE TOUGHNESS
Ultra high strength steels AHSS (tensile strength> 700
MPa) are increasingly used in automotive industry due to:
• Reduction in car weight and fuel consumption
• High mechanical strength and high energy absorption in
crash
• Good formability

Using Nanoindentation Test R&D team can identify the

FRACTURE TOUGHNESS of the material.
FINITE ELEMENT MODELLING
• FEM applied for contact between the indenter
tip and material surface.

• FEM applied to the surface under the indenter

to account for piling up or sinking down.
