This Phase out News formally announces the phase out of the 7400ip family of telephones, including Dialog 5446
IP, together with the associated accessories and spare parts.
The IP telephone market has clearly shifted from H.323-based products over to SIP-based telephones. In line with
this shift Mitels strategic direction is today focused on the SIP standard and our product development as well as our
sales focus has clearly evolved towards this technology and its benefits.
With the enhanced functionality and performance of our SIP telephone family in combination with the SIP-based
capabilities in MX-ONE/Mitel 700, the Mitel 6800i and 6700i families already today represents the majority of our
phone sales and consequently the sales volumes of H.323-based telephones have decreased significantly.
As an alternative to the 7400ip phones, Mitel has today a competitive range of SIP phones as well as an alternative
family of H.323 telephones. The newly announced Mitel 6800i family is the most competitive range of phones within
Mitel today and it is the terminal family where our R&D efforts are, and will be, focused on.
This phase out is valid for 7400ip and Dialog 5446 terminal sales in conjunction with MX-ONE, Mitel 700, TSW,
BusinessPhone and MD-Evolution platforms.
Yours truly,
……………………………..
