SPECIFICATIONS AND TEST SETUP INFORMATION FOR DYNAMIC PILE TESTING
(TO BE ARRANGED BY CLIENT)

1. The pile top shall be rebuilt by extending it for 1.6 X pile diameter from sound
concrete level. This shall be done using either formwork/shuttering or steel casing.
The extended pile head shall be of same diameter, axial, flat and have same
strength or one grade higher than pile concrete. The rebars and helical
reinforcement shall also be extended to avoid cracking of concrete under hammer
impact. The diameter of bars shall generally be the same as pile reinforcement.

2. If it is a liner pile, two openings/windows 300mm x 300mm diametrically opposite

to each other shall be made into the liner at 1.5 x Dia. from top. This is for fixing
gauges to pile. The concrete at the sensor level shall be smooth hard and uniform.

3. Provisions shall be made by the contractor on site to shift the casing, hammer,
helmet etc. from one pile to another. Labour required for testing shall be
provided by the client free of cost.

4. A mechanical crane of suitable capacity or suitable trip mechanism capable to

ensure a free fall of the required hammer shall be arranged on site.

5. A 220V single phase power supply through AC mains or generator shall be made
available near to the pile being tested to facilitate testing. A 12V car battery shall
also be provided as power source for Pile Driving Analyzer.

6. The data supplied for testing shall include the pile diameter, total length, pile
penetration, cutoff level, concrete strength, and soil investigation data, bore log,
previous static test results if any on site, etc.

The above specifications constitute the test setup information for dynamic pile testing, and
shall be adhered to by clients for proper results. Any questions regarding the above
instructions shall be referred to M/s. GEO DYNAMICS for further clarifications.

SPECIFICATIONS AND TEST SETUP INFORMATION FOR DYNAMIC PILE TESTING

(TO BE ARRANGED BY GEO DYNAMICS)

1. Steel helmet 30mm thick and with diameter 75mm more than diameter.

2. 30mm thick plywood cushion with diameter equal to pile diameter shall be kept
ready at the time of testing.

3. A suitable guide shall be provided to ensure a concentric fall.

4. A hammer weight=7.0T shall be used for maximum test load of up to 750T

(TL=1.5XDL, DL= 500T for 1000mm & 1200mm dia. pile) and pile depth 20m.

NOTE: Test Load = 1.5 x design load for routine pile & 2.5 x design load for initial pile
