2. Connecting the motor to the mains supply 2.2 System with three-phase motors

All standard Hydro Multi-E systems are prepared for three-phase
supply. If the only mains supply available is single-phase, the
system can be supplied by bridging the three phases.

According to your system and mains supply, when connecting a
new motor, follow the corresponding wiring diagram below:

3.2 Replacing a switch


When replacing a pressure switch, for dry-running protection for
example, follow the wiring diagram below (fig. 7).

3.3 Connecting digital outputs


The digital outputs of all the pumps equipped with a discharge
sensor should be connected together, so that any devices linked Fig. 9 Releasing the water from the diaphragm tank

they can be connected either in "normally opened" (NO) or
"normally closed" (NC). In the wiring diagram below (fig. 8),
pumps 1 and 2 are equipped with a discharge sensor.

Depending on the GSC file loaded in the MGE motor, the master
pump can be set up to have a discharge sensor and a switch or
inlet sensor for dry running protection.
The files also set up the sensor range and the inlet protection.
Any pump that has a discharge sensor connected shall be
configured with a master pump file, other pumps with a slave
pump file.
A motor that has been loaded with GSC file for slave pumps can
always be configured as a master pump afterwards, using the
Grundfos GO.

4.3 Creating a new system with Grundfos GO

1. Power the complete system.


2. Press [Connect] on Grundfos GO, and press the [Connect]
button on pump 1. See fig. 3 in section 4.1 Disabling the
system.
3. When the pump has been recognised by Grundfos GO, select
[Assist] (1), then [Multi-pump setup] (2), then [Cascade] (3)
and [Bus cable] (4).
4. Press [Select pump 2] (5). A list of available pumps is
displayed. Identify the pump of your choice and press the
[wink icon] (6) to configure it as pump number 2.
5. Continue doing this until all the pumps in the system have
been paired. Then press [>] (7) and [Send] (8).

5. Fault finding

5.1 System

5.2 Via the Grundfos Eye
English (GB)

The Grundfos Eye can flash in different ways and colours to


indicate different kinds of faults. The exact cause is then
determined by the number in brackets, which can be read on the
control panel or Grundfos GO.

6.2 Identifying the master pump

English (GB)
To determine which pump is the master pump, remove the cover
of the motor and look at LED lamps, see fig. 11. By default,
pump 1 is the master.
• The LED is on: the pump is a slave
• The LED is off: the pump is a master.
