Dear Sir and Frater:
This refers to your recent report and we are glad to know that you
are beginning to change your attitude of mind in regard to your
fiance. We are continuing our efforts in your behalf, but we still
contend tnat it is not ethical or rignt to try to influence anyone.
They should be allowed to choose for themselves.
You refer to page 159 of ’’Self Mastery and Fate with the Cycles of
Life,” which, according to your interpretation, indicates that it
is permissible and right to try to influence your fiance through sug­
gestions. If you will read the paragraph you mention, as well as
the preceding one, we believe you will see that it is quite possible
tnat ner cnange of mind and decision to postpone ner marriage was
also the result of a Cosmic urge. You will note in tnese paragrapns
tnat we are urged against the acceptance of an urge that may be an
external suggestion from some otner mind.
The only way a Rosicrucian can give a suggestion to another is to
make sure tnat it is constructive and not strictly selfish. Other­
wise, we cannot expect the Cosmic to aelp or assist us in the matter.
If you wish, however, you may send mental suggestions to her at
nignt when you feel tnat she is predominantly subjective, or asleep;
qualifying your suggestion with the mental reservation that if it
oe in accordance with Cosmic law, it snail be done, and tnat you will
oe willing to abide by what the Cosmic brings to you. We feel confi­
dent tnat as time goes on you will see that this experience is a
necessary one, and tnat it is all in accord with the Divine Mind and
Cosmic law.
