Introduction
Built is environment is design as per its context and the context in its topographical location dictates the
design principles. Therefore the architectural principles for every climatic condition is different. This
dissertation will explore all the architectural techniques to attain a maximum amount of comfort for the
built environment in warm-humid zone of India.

Aims
1) To attain least energy utilization in our buildings.
2) To achieve climate responsive architecture.
3) To gain thermal comfort without any mechanical means.

Objectives
1) Explore the vernacular architecture of warm-humid zones and take inspiration from them.
2) Explore various passive techniques in these zones.
3) Explore various appropriate technology suitable for such zones.

Methodology
It is a research work based on trusted sources and various books. I am referring various climate
responsive architecture books, energy efficient architecture, and appropriate technology books for the
research.

Scope
1) My study will only include warm-humid zones of India.
2) The study will be able to present a brief design techniques to adopt for buildings in warm-humid
climate.
3) Provide basic design principle, which can be adapted to a contemporary building.

Limitations
1) No live case study.
2) Depending on various study materials for information.
3) Lack of practical analysis of such technology to check their efficiency.
