t Introduction
The purpose of thistechnicalspecífication isto, in additionto Request ForQuotation (RFQ)or
Purchase Order (PO)/Contract and other documents making the part of it, defines the requirements
for the supply of steel work package for CleanSOx Tower or Compact scrubber part for Exhaust Gas
Cleaning Unit (EGCU) of Exhaust Gas Cleaning System (EGCS).

The purpose of the EGCS is to remove SOz from the exhaust gas from the main and auxiliary motors
prior to atmospheric release through the funnel.

2.2 Supplierobligations
Supplier shall assume sole responsibility for the design, fabrication, assembly, testing, supply of the
specified steel work package for CleanSOx Tower or Compact scrubber with accessories and shall
ensure that the final product complies with this technical specification and other documents, which
form part of the RFQ or PO.
It is the Supplier's responsibility to ensure that the complete delivery complies with all relevant
codes, standards and specifications.

Supplier shall supply relevant drawings and documentat¡on to Buyer in accordance with doc.
Suppliers Master Document List (SMDL).

lnspection and Test Plan (lTP) shall be submitted to Buyer for approval prior to commencing
fa brication activities.

Fabrication shall not start until the relevant drawings have been released by Buyer.

Supplier shall not sub-contract whole or parts of the work without prior written consent from
Buyer.

2.3 Standards, Codes


All work shall be carried out in accordance with latest issues of appropriate European, US and
international standards and codes
Subject to the prior approval of the Buyer, the Supplier may adopt appropriate international
standards and codes provided. This can be demonstrated to be an equivalent or higher standard
than the relevant European or US standards and codes.
All standards applied for the design and supply of the specified steel work package shall be clearly
identified within the RFQ, highlighting any specific clauses applied.

ln case of conflict between sections mentioned in this specification and those in section 2.3, the
overall content of this specification shall govern. Any special provision as shown or noted on the

3 Scope of work
This section describes the scope of work for either one steelwork package for CleanSOx Tower or for
one steelwork for CleanSOx Compact scrubber part of Exhaust Gas Cleaning Unit (EGCU) in
compliance with Project standa rds.

3.1 General

o Fabrication and testing of spread beam
o lnstallation of cyclone inner ring (special item supplied by Buyer)

4 Materials
4.L Generalrequirements
Material grade, thickness and relevant information as such reference to standards for each
part/component, fasteners and other items are mentioned in the CAD-model supplied by Buyer.
Supplier shall have a separate material handling line for stainless steel material grades to avoid
contamination. All materials shall be handled, stored and kept according to Best practice. Storage
area shall be kept clean and tidy.

Cutting, bending or other forming methods shall be performed with appropriated tools, equipment
to prevent contamination. Contaminated parts will be rejected.
Handling and protection of welding consumables shall be according to welding procedure
specifications. All consumables shall be stored in dry storage room or cabinets before and during
welding activities.
Supplier shall provide to Buyer a list of manufacturers for welding consumables for approval.

4.2 Material grades required


Material grades for the main parts of the steelwork package are:
. Alloy 2507 - L.44LO (Superduplex)
. Alloy 2205 - I.4462 (Duplex)
. Alloy 254SMO - I.4547 (i.e for Exhaust lnlet shell)
¡ SS3L6L - t.44O4 (i.e for stiffeners and foundations parts)
¡ SS316 - L.4401(for spray nozzles)
o SS400
o For CleanSOx Compact scrubber: Exhaust inlet flange
o For CleanSOx Tower scrubber: Exhaust receiver

4.3 Reception and storage of materials


For traceability, each part/component shall be marked with material grade and lot/heat number

Defective material shall be reported to Buyer upon delivery within reasonable time (72 hours).
Defective material shall not be used and shall be immediately removed from storage area.

5 Buyer supply
Buyer will supply steel plates, pipes and pipe fittings according to requirement mentioned in Buyer
CAD model. Materialgrades are:

. Alloy 2507 - 1'44IO (Superduplex)


. Alloy 22OS - L4462 (Duplex)
. Alloy 254SMO - t.4547 (Exhaust lnlet shell)
o SS316 - t.44OL (only supply of spray nozzles)

A Bill Of Material (BOM) describing material grade, thickness and other relevant information will be
supplied by Buyer. Supplier shall check if this BOM covers all needed material (comparison with
Supplier own BOM)

Material cert¡ficates will be provided to Supplier to issue the MRB.

5.1 For CleanSox Tower scrubber


Additional specific items will be delivered for the Tower scrubber type:
o Bushings/slide bearíngs for linkage system for BRD (from Devatec)

6 Supplier supply
6.1 General
Supplier shall inform Buyer if they are not able to bend the pipes for seawater systems.

Supplier will supply material for fasteners (including lubricant), steel plates, gaskets, heat resistant
sealants and grease nipple with material certificates. Material grades are:
¡ SS316L - 7.4404 (i.e for stiffeners and foundations parts)
o SS400
o For CleanSOx Compact scrubber: Exhaust inlet flange
o For CleanSOx Tower scrubber: Exhaust receiver
o Material grade and standards for fasteners and for other items are mentioned in Buyer CAD-
models
o lnformation for other items are mentioned in Buyer CAD-models
Supplier shall communicate type and brand of lubricant and heat resistant sealants to Buyer for
approval.
A BOM describing materialgrade, thickness and other relevant information will be supplied by Buyer

Material, fittings, pipe fittings, tools and equipment to carry out required tests
Engraved stainless-steel plate for name plate.

6.2 For CleanSOx Compact scrubber


Additional specific items shall be delivered for the Compact scrubber type
o Fabrication of pressure transmitter manifold (only)
o Additional fasteners and other material for interface to EGCU may be added to the BOM for
the installation of the recirculation damper.

6.3 For CleanSOx Tower scrubber


Additional specífic parts/items shall be delivered for the Tower scrubber type:
. Bypass Recirculation Droplet catcher (BRD) including actuator and linkage systems
o Grease nipples
o Hydraulic hoses with isolated 3 parts manual ball valves (lnternal diameter DN20, Operating
pressure mini 16 bar, female threaded quick connector, material grade for connectors for
seawater process

7 Fabrication
7.L General
All aspects of design and fabrication are the responsibility of the Suppl¡er and shall comply with this
technical specification. Geometry and quantity of all produced items is specified in CAD-models
supplied by Buyer
Steelwork package shall be fabricated of continuously welded steel except for external stiffeners for
Clea nSOx Compact scrubber.

7.2 Welding
Preferred welding methods are GMAW, GTAW or TIP TlG. Variations of these may be accepted if
approved by steel manufacturer.

7.3 Inspection and testing of welds


The method of inspection shall be according to standards mentioned in section 3.1 and extent of
inspection and testing shall be made spread evenly at 50% of the welds of the produced part.
Buyer can point out specific areas to be tested.

Following NDT control shall be carried out:


¡ Visual inspection
¡ Magnetic Particle/Dye Penetration / Ultrasonic Examination
¡ RadiographicExamination

7.3.1 Visualinspection
All welds shall be visually inspected.

7.3.2 Magnetic Particle/Dye Penetration / Ultrasonic Examination


These activities shall be carried out according to standards mentioned in Section 2.3

The examination shall be done at 50 % of all major welds/joints.

7OO% Dye Penetrant test of lifting lugs or eyes shall be performed before and after lift is carried out.
Each lifting lug shall be marked wíth designed max lifting loads.

7.3.3 Radiographic Examination


L0% of welds shall be tested. lf defective welds are found this percentage will increased.
Radiographic examination shall be carried out for random joints as directed by the CM Engineer in
Charge.

7.4 Surface treatment


Surface treatment applies for all SS400 material grade:
¡ Surface preparation shallbe to minimum Sa21/2. The blast medium must be non-metallic.
. Dry Film Thickness shall be according to product data sheet for Solvalitt from Jotun
¡ Color code will be announced at later stage

Welds shall not be painted or otherwise obscured until they have been inspected and approved.

7.5 Fabrication drawings


Supplier shall submit drawings describing all stages of fabrication and assembly.

Approval process and file sharing method to be specified in a separate document (see doc.5000-
ssso).
Drawing templates and instructions will be provided by Buyer (see doc. 5000 - 5580).

Fabrication drawings shall be drawn to scale. The following information shall be present on all
drawings:
. Appropriate amount of views
o Welding symbols
¡ Tolerance information according to Fabrication standards
¡ Dimensions
r Part list

B Inspection & Testing


Supplier shall be responsible for lnspection and Testing of steelwork package prior to delivery.

lnspection and hydro test activities will be carried out in compliance with ITP

8.1 Inspection
lntermediary and general inspections will be carried out on random basis by Buyer.

8.2 Functional test


Functional test of damper (after installation) or BRD shall be carried out,

8.3 Hydro test of seawater system.


All seawater pipelines shall be hydro tested.
Hydro test procedure shall be submítted to Buyer for approval prior to commencing hydro test
activities.
Pressure test shall be 1-.5 x the max nominal pressure.

Spray nozzle will be installed after flushing and hydro test activities

I tifting and delivery.


9.1 For CleanSox Compact scrubber
Lifting of recirculation damper shall not be used for lifting of the complete scrubber.

9.2 For CleanS0x Tower scrubber


Shall be delivered in several sections for transportation purpose. Supplier shall communicate to
Buyer the defined sections for approval.
