*Students are required to have attendance as per ordinance. Guides are requested to furnish the certificate of satisfactory performance
and requisite attendance of their students before review date of every stage. Guides would maintain the attendance record of their respective
students along with a diary of weekly meetings.

REQUIREMENTS FOR EACH STAGE

I) Synopsis
The Synopsis contains the following sections:
1) Introduction and definition of the topic
2) Problem statement
3) Aim and objectives
4) Scope/limitations of the project
5) Site analysis
6) Proposed methodology
7) List of Exemplars (2 live case studies & 2 internet case studies)
8) Sources of basic data
9) Significance of the project

II) Preliminary Report

The Preliminary Report will contain the following chapters:
1) Introduction
2) Literature study: analysis of all data
3) Exemplar study: analysis of all data, critical analysis.
4) Site analysis: analysis of all data, including access, points of ingress and egress, climate,
views, topography, surroundings, landscape features, potential and weakness of site.
5) Area program table: client & Architects brief: fine-tuned design brief, including area
programme, quantitative and qualitative requirement of spaces.
6) Formulation of design criteria and design concept.
7) Chapterization of the report and the initial chapters of report till development of design
guidelines.
The Preliminary Report must be presented in accordance with the thesis manual.

III) Pre- Final Report & Concept

The Pre- final report will include, apart from all the information given in the Preliminary
report, the final inferences drawn from the data collected & analyzed and the design idea from
which the design solution would eventually emerge.
The Concept stage is the first stage of the actual design resolution. This stage demands the
student present the design ideas in the form of three alternative concepts based on the space
programme and the design criteria developed through the pre- design studies which have
been presented in the report earlier.
IV) Preliminary Design stages
The preliminary design Stages demand that the students present the design scheme in its
evolutionary stage. Suggestions made by the jury in the previous stage should have been
considered, deliberated upon and implemented wherever applicable. The presentation will be in
the form of design sheets, drawings & study models to explain the basic scheme in totality. It is
expected that this submission will be made on presentable format in which the drawings & study
models are self explanatory.
V) Detailed Design and Final report
The detailed design Stage will entail the presentation of the design scheme with all aspects of the
situation totally resolved. Suggestions made by the jury in the previous stage should have been
considered, deliberated upon and implemented wherever applicable. The drawings & study
models at this stage need not be fully rendered but must be complete in all respect in terms of
carrying all the information required in the final presentation. The presentation must be in the
form of complete architectural drawings and three dimensional visualization. The drawings
presented must be of a stage where only final rendering is required after any minor modifications
suggested by the jury for preparing the final submission.
VI): Final Submission [Portfolio]
The final submission stage will comprise two submissions, the Design Resolution & Final
Report and will be evaluated out of 300 marks.
The final submission entails that students are required to present their complete and fully
rendered designs in the form of Drawings & model/s with additional support in the form of
slides/ film/ computer/ multi- media and any other medium of presentation.

Drawings
i): Sheet size shall be A-1 and no deviation will be allowed or accepted.
ii): All sheets shall have a uniform format.
iii): Each sheet must carry the Project Title; Full Name & Roll No. of the student; Month & year
of submission; Name of Department & University; Sheet Title, number.
iv): Three- dimensional Representation: This could take the form of drawings; sketches;
audio- visual/ film/ multi- media presentation
v): Model: Credit will be given to models that have been made by the students themselves.
Two copies of Final Report must be in accordance with thesis manual.
