Question: ‘Students should get involved in community activities.’ Do you agree?

Yes, in most ways than not, I would strongly agree with the above statement.
Community activity is a non-paying job performed by one person or a group of people for the
benefit of community or its institutions. It’s always surprising how many students simply do
not get involved in community activities nowadays. Students now are confined to their learning
institutions. Thus, their social interaction will be restricted. In my opinion, engaging in
community activities provides students with lots of benefits such as improves communication
skills, develop commendable values and having a better lifestyle.

First of all, community activities can be a platform for students to enhance their
communication skills. By joining this kind of activity, students will be able to mingle around
with people from all walks of life. Therefore, this will allows them to socialize effectively with
people regardless their ages and background. Hence, this will be a great opportunity for the
students to improve their communication skills by communicate with all these people. For
instance, students will be able to learn

Next, students who play parts in community activities can develop commendable
values. Community activity teaches students skills that are valuable in life such as teamwork,
problem solving as well as ability to follow instruction. When the students contribute in
community activity, they will learn how to work in better in team. For example, students who
participate in community activity will face a lot of obstacles and tough problems to handle.
This will allows them to learn how to solve problems better and enjoy the satisfaction of
overcoming an obstacle.
Last but not least, a better lifestyle will be experienced by students who participated in
community activities. An engagement with the community through this activities helps
students to feel less stress with students’ life. As we know, students’ life are usually hectic with
tonnes of assignments, quizzes and mid-term tests that will cause a lot of pressure towards
them. So, community activities will be an escape for these students to avoid stressful lifestyle
as students.

In conclusion, although plenty of students are doing community activity, the number of
students who volunteer is still dropping at rapid rate. This mean that these students are missing
out on a great enriching experience that can benefit them not just personally and professionally
but also helping the society.
