Assignment 7

This course has taught me a lot on tools I can use in my classroom for the future. A major way to

help students pay attention to lessons is to make it interesting for them, and visual tools are good

ways to grab their attention.

Assignment 4- In this assignment I used StoryBoardThat and Popplet. StoryBoardThat is a

website created to make comics. It is very easy to create, and once you play around with it a

little, you learn quickly about how many different comics you can create. I also used Popplet to

create facts on a lesson about the Greek Parthenon, and it can come in handy when trying to

create a fun lesson using facts. Both websites were free, very convenient and easy to use!

Assignment 5- In assignment 5, I created a presentation on addition using different tools on

GoogleSlides. I used different kinds of animations, having each text fade in and fade out. I used

different word colors and texts to make my presentation seem more engaging. I also learned how

to upload a video from my laptop or youtube, and also I learned how to insert an image from the

web.

Assignment 6- In this assignment I used two websites to make fun ways to create an online quiz.

The first website I chose was Kahoot, and in my opinion I favored this one better than

GoogleForms. On Kahoot, while the question is on the screen for the children to read, there is

funky music playing in the background, making the game more fun and interesting. I learned to

insert images onto the Kahoot, and create a timer, and once the timer is up, it shows the correct

answer. Whoever gets the answer right receives points, making it a game to the children. On

GoogleForms, it is less as fun, but can still help students. You can create your own questions and
answers, and when the teacher is done making it, it comes out as an online test for the students to

take.

Conclusion- I have learned a lot from this class, but one thing that I learned overall is that

technology can affect teaching in a positive way. I believe that it can make teaching easier, and I

believe this because when the kids are engaged and when the teacher has their students attention,

the lesson is just easier for both the teacher and students. If lessons were taught with no

technology, I think it would be boring, and knowing me, if I were a student, I would distract

myself easily during a boring lesson like that. These websites are good ways to make lessons

more interesting, and very effective.
