Describe the instructional activities that will occur PRIOR to the SRT activity and how you will introduce
the SRT activity.
Prior to completing this activity, students will have been learning about multiplication and their times
tables. The class will have explored multiple ways to identify the missing variable in a multiplication
problem. It will be used after some retention, but not mastery. The game will provide the students with
extra help.

During the SRT activity, students will rigorously answer multiplication problems as they compete with their
classmates for the top spot. This will test their knowledge on multiplication and give the teacher an
understanding of where the students are academically on this subject. The teacher will control this game
from his/her desktop and move between the questions. Handheld devices that can access WI-Fi are needed
for the students. This can be an iPad, iPod, their desktop, or even their phones. The activity should last no
more than 30 minutes (depending on discussion and class participation)
