Calaguas, members of the panel, for the suggestions, comments
and for the knowledge they have shared with the researcher that
contributed much in the development of the study;

ABSTRACT

Title : ETHNOBOTANY AND NATURAL PRODUCTS

RESARCHES OF BS BIOLOGY
FROM 2001-2013: A REVIEW
Researcher : MENCHIE M. ABILLE
School : Pampanga State Agricultural
University
Degree : Bachelor of Science in Biology
Date Completed : April 2015
Adviser : Dr. Jacqueline V. Bagunu

This descriptive study generally aimed to make a

review of research undertakings on ehnobotany and natural
products researches of BS Bilogy students from 2001-2013.

Of the BS Biology researches undertaken, Ethnobotany

and Natural products recorded the highest percentage
followed by Bio-diversity, and Bio-remediation appeared to
be the lowest. Among the 205 studies, photochemical studies
had the highest percentage followed by, antimicrobial,
antibacterial, and antifungal and cytotoxicity studies.

All studies undertaken generally recommended to use

other parts of the plants, other solvents, different doses,
other concentrations, other extraction methods, increase in
the amount of exposure, other organisms and experimental
animals and other methods or assays.

Only kantutai, kurakling and mais-mais had undergone

follow-up studies based on the recommendations forwarded
for each research.
