I can read and write English and Spanish. On February 13% 2019 around 8:00 am I had a wreck at Bandera Rd and Timco Rd. Leon Valley Fire Department arrived and checked me out to make sure | was OK. When they were done, I got back into my cat, which was a gray Ford Focus. While sitting in my car I called my mom to tell her what was going on. A younger ted headed guy came up to me and wouldn’t let me use my phone. When I was sitting in my cara red headed officer came up to me and told me I couldn’t talk on my phone. He never gave me a reason, Why. A little bit after that, he told me to get out of my car and he put me in handewtfs. A female ‘constable was with him when he put me in handcuffs. I asked him why I was being put in handcuffs and she said, “because of the smelt of marijuana.” The red headed officer put me in the back of a police car, I think it was a Constable’s car. I was in the back of the car for about twenty minutes. The same officer who put the handcuffs on me took me out of the car, took me to the ambulance and told the Leon Valley medics he wanted to have blood drawn from me, The medics looked confused also, They asked the officer why he was bringing me to them if that’s not what | wanted. My mom arrived and was near the open door at the back of the ambulance. She told me that I was going to be arrested after they took me to the hospital to draw blood. No one ever told me why I was going to the hospital to have blood drawn, I just assumed it was because they said they could smell marijuana in my car. Other than the medics checking me out after the accident, no one else did any other tests on me, There were no tests done on my yes, other than the medies checking me out at first. ‘We went to University Hospital where we talked to a nurse. The nurse asked me if I wanted to be evaluated and I told him no. He asked the officer whey we were there if I refused an evaluation. The officer said the Constable told him to have me taken to the hospital because J had just been in an accident. While at the hospital blood was drawn from me, At the hospital an evaluation was done by a nurse to check for injuries, but nothing else. While at the hospital, another Constable arrived and stayed until I was released. He was the one that took me to the jail. Thave smoked marijuana in the past, but not that day. I smoked marijuana a few days before and there wasn’t any marijuana in my car when Ihad the accident. When the accident occurred, my airbags went off and it had a but plastic smell, Prior to my blood being drawn no officer read any paperwork to me or advised me of ray rights, We were at the hospital for about eleven hours before I was taken to jail.
