1. How does your work on this assignment relate to your personal and/or work experiences?

This assignment was an individual case, and it relates to my personal experiences as I feel I work best
while working as an individual. Often, it is easier for me to complete tasks by myself compared to
working in a team setting. I generally do not like to rely on others, as I feel I can only trust myself in
certain situations to complete high-quality work, especially in an educational setting. However, one
of my goals is to become a better collaborator so that I can work better in a group setting. It is an
essential skill to possess, as the professional working environment will provide many opportunities to
work as a team therefore, I would like to continue to work on my collaboration skills while continuing
to better my ability to work as an individual.

2. How can you use your experiences with this assignment to support and/or guide you in achieving
your future goals?

My experience working on this assignment can support in achieving my future goals, as I had to think
outside the box to complete this case study. In future courses and in the professional environment,
there will be times where issues will arise that will require some creative and unconventional
thinking. This assignment was a challenging exercise to think of the entities of an organization and
how they are connected to provide value for the business. These thinking exercises will help to
prepare me for my future endeavors and to find new wand unconventional ways to help my
organization and fellow colleagues and become a more valuable member.

3. What is one specific thing that you did while working on this assignment that you will continue to do
in the future? Why?

While working on this assignment, I was able to effectively manage my time to complete the first
case study while managing to complete my other outstanding assignments. Time management is an
essential skill to possess that enables me to plan out my assignments in advance to ensure that I do
not fall behind or leave them to the last minute. I am not able to complete work to best of my ability
if I were to procrastinate; therefore, I will continue to manage my time effectively throughout the
rest of the semester and for the duration of my time at Sheridan to provide high-quality work.

4. What is one specific thing that you did while working on this assignment that you will not do in the
future? Why not? What will you do instead?

Upon completion of this assignment ahead of the due date, I submitted it to the drop-box shortly
after; this is something I would like to avoid because I could have used the extra time to make the
necessary changes to obtain a better mark than I got. In the future, I will want to spend a bit more
time revising and adding more detail to certain parts of the case. During the first case study, I had a
few errors with the attributes of the entities; additionally, I could have added more detail to discuss
how the proposed database approach would solve the issues that the organization were facing and
thoroughly addressing how value can be derived from the relationships the entities have with other
entities.

5. How would you evaluate your work on this assignment? Which of the seven undergraduate
competencies did you develop through this activity? Explain how you developed these competencies
using specific examples.

During this assignment, I felt I had developed my creativity undergraduate competency. The first part
of the case study required us to think outside the box and evaluate ways how the proposed database
design supports the ability of the organization to generate business value. In addition, we had to
think about the different entities, the value that can be gained from it, and its relationship with the
other entities. It was a challenging exercise to figure out ways how a business can derive value from
the new database system. Also, although there are individual entities, it was fascinating to
understand how the entities relate to one another and viewing their business process from different
perspectives. I feel as though creativity is the one competency that I need to develop the most;
however, this assignment was a great way for me to think in different ways while continuing to work
on the creativity competency that I have been striving to get better at.
