THE EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE TOPIC

DESCRIPTION: The emotional intelligence is the aptitude to recognize own and


foreign feelings, and the skill to handle them.

HISTORY: The ítem “management for competitions” was used in the first time by
“David C. McClelland” in the year 1973, and at the end of the decade of 1990 by
Daniel Godman, in his book named “ Emotional intelligence” (1997). It is said that
the above mentioned term arose from the psychology orgnizacional inmersed in
motivational theories with the only goal of explaining how to achieve a really
succesfull perfomance in the labor area.

FEATURES: The management for competitions it suposes to have defined the


knowledge, qualities and behaviors that the workers must have, (Executives,
managers, personnel of attention to the public, sales people, etc)

PHASES:

1) It should select the candidates who have been poseessing them recently.

2) We must form them in the skills that try to be promoted.

3) We should help to generate a good environment of work

4) We would have to favor plans of personal development by means of


promotions inside the Company

In conclussion, to achieve a labor successful perfomance we will have to bear the


knowledge and skills in mind, not alone for it makes the work ( BE ABLE TO
MAKE), the attitudes, values, and personal features linked to the good perfomance
(WANT TO DO )but also, quite as an alone set.

ADVANTAGES: The emotional skills are very valued for the Company, since if we
have them we will help to reduce the labor conflicts. In one hand we will have
increased the success of the equipments of work, and in the other hand we will
have improve the climate of work. We could say that the technicall skills not
always are accompanied of emotional skills. People who have had an emotional
domain are accoustume to have more succes in his life that that not.

TYPES: The emotional intelligence understand two intelligences; the personal and
the social one, each of which has been formed by different capacities, We can be
summarizing them this way:

A) INTELLIGENCE OR PERSONAL COMPETITION: It shows our aptitude


to see of realistic form, how we are and what we want. It includes this one:
1- Self-conciousness: if we have known our feelings and own emotions we
will be able to know this effect on the others. 2- Self-regulation: We are
handling constantly feelings own emotions. In order that we are
reorientating impulses and harmful states of mind. 3- Motivation: How we
have felt our impulses to achieve our aims.

B) SOCIAL INTELLIGENCE OR SOCIAL COMPETITION: 4- Empathy:


we are been able to recognize feelings , needs and foreign worries. 5- Social
skills: I have every confidence in my social skills. How i had managed the
interpersonal relations.
