THE LIGHTING LAYOUT PLAN


Each group is to use their given house floor plan and design a lighting layout plan on a 1000sq.m plot. The
layout plan must be represented in two parts: the landscape lighting layout and the electrical lighting
layout.

THE LANDSCAPE LIGHTING LAYOUT

The landscape lighting layout must comprise of the following outputs:

 A colour rendered site plan (at 1:100) of your own landscape lighting design indicating trees,
shrubs, pathways, fountains, plants, gazebos, water features, etc. The sky is the limit!
 There must be a consistent theme throughout your design!! Make sure to discuss it.
 A boundary wall design (compulsory!!).
 The floor plan (indicating furniture) must be a part or your site plan – No dimensions please!
 Location of lighting fixtures (up/down, in-ground, wall, path, etc) indicated on the site plan.
 Legend of light fixtures used.
 Coloured Images indicating your design ideas that refers to their specific locations on the plan.
 A detailed explanation of each image.

THE ELECTRICAL LIGHTING LAYOUT

The electrical lighting layout must comprise of the following output:

A dimensioned floor plan (at 1:50) showing the design of your electrical layout indicating:
- Lights (ceiling and wall)
- Switches with lines of control to each fixture(s)
- Electrical sockets
