internship which which has such a learning experience and has enlightened my
knowledge and skills.

applied sciences for giving me the opportunity to undergo one month internship at

INTRODUCTION

The main aim of study is to gain an organizational familiarisation and in depth


knowledge of the functioning of various departments. It's a joint venture of Geojit and
BNP Paribas . The better the organization, the further would be the achievement of the
common objectives. Organization structure is a indispensable means to the end of the
business performance and my even destroy it. This fact makes it appropriate through
organisation study .
SCOPE OF THE STUDY

The study intended to attain the firsthand experience of the overall


functioning of the organization. It also provides a change to see the practical constrains
faced by the manager while putting the theory in the practice .

OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY

 To get organisational exposure.

 To study the mission,vision and corporate objective.

 To understand the basis of the departments.

 To understand the organisational structure.

LIMITATION OF THE STUDY

 The method used mainly provides qualitative data so lack precision.


 The personal interview may be affected by personal bias.
 The time was limited for a deep study and analysis of the organization.
 The personnel resource the company is limited so it was a challenge to collect data
without interrupting the normal operation of the company.

SECURITIES AND
EXCHANGE BOARD OF
INDIA

In our to sort out and rectify the various problems existed in the Indian ssecurities
market ,the Central Government constituted an apex body known as the Securities and
Exchange Board of India (SEBI) by bill passed in 1988. SEBI act was passed in the
passed Parliament in 1992 and the act came into force on January 1992. As per the
provisions of the SEBI act 1992,SEBI was established as a statutory body on April
12,1992. SEBI is headquartered in Mumbai and has four regional offices in New Delhi
,Kolkata, Ahmedabad and Chennai.
The securities and Exchange board of India was organised on similar line with the
Securities and Exchange commission (SEC) of the United States of America. SEBI was
formed as an organisation which has got three types of quasi-legislative,quasi-judicial,
quasi-executive. It's regulatory jurisdiction extends over corporates in the issue market,
securities, transactions and all the intermediaries and persons associated with the
securities market.

OBJECTIVES OF SEBI
 To protect the interest of the investors in securities market.
 To promote the growth and development of the Securities market .
 To regulate the Securities market.
 To discharge the responsibilities connected with or incidental to the above functions.

POWERS OF SEBI

 Frame rules, regulations,guidelines and issue notification and circulars which are to
be compiled by the market participants .
 Calling for information ,undertaking inspection, conducting enquiries and audits of
the stock exchange ,mutual funds,self regulatory organization and other market
intermediaries .
 Levying fees or other charges for carrying out the purpose of discharging the
functions and power of SEBI .
 Issue appropriate directions to any person or persons in the interest of investors in
the securities market.
 Order for investigating the affairs of any intermediary or persons associated with the
Securities market.
 Specify the requirements for listing and transfer of securities .

INDIAN STOCK
MARKET

The India stock and invest market is mainly divided into two two parts,namely the
primary and secondary market. The stock market is an important part of the capital
market in the country through which one can carry out the transaction of capital . It is
usually done through the means of direct financing through the use of securing and
investment The investment market can further be such divided into primary and
secondary market.

FEATURES OF PRIMARY
MARKET

In case of the primary market, the listed shares are issued for the first time which is
transferred to the investors from the listed company. In case of primary market,the stock
issuers and the listed companies make use of the capital by offering the stocks to the
investors. The investors in turn,buy shares and supply the needed capital. In simple
terms, the primary market is a type of platform where new securities and stocks are
death with the primary market can be an ideal source funding for various business
enterprises and companies public sector units and government organizations
All the organization can make the finding by selling new banks,stocks and other forms of
securities. IPO(initial public offer) is a type of public offering in which shares of a
company usually are sold to institutional investors that in turn, sell to the general public
on a securities exchange for the first time.
FEATURES OF SECONDARY
MARKET

An important part of the Indian stock and investment market is the secondary
market In simply terms,it is also known as the stock market. Mainly it is a type of
continuous market which offer very good platform for trading and business of securities
and stocks. Trading has to be done through SEBI registered broker , stock and
securities units,security firms and other financial institutions.
There are two main stock exchanges in India which operate the bulk of the share and
securities trading.
They are:-
 BOMBAY STOCK EXCHANGE (BSE)
 NATIONAL STOCK EXCHANGE. (NSE)

BOMBAY STOCK
EXCHANGE

The Bombay stock exchange (BSE),also known as the oldest stock exchanges in
Asia and is credited with the operation of the most number of listed companies in the
world. Incepted in the year 1875,it has a listing of more than 4,700 companies. It is
located in Dalal street area of the city of Mumbai ,the financial Capital of India.

NATIONAL STOCK
EXCHANGE

The National Stock Exchange of India ,also referred to as NSE is also located
in Mumbai. It is the 11st largest stock exchange in the world by market
capitalization largest in India by daily turnover and number of traders,for both
equities and derivative trading.
NSE has a market capitalization of more than US$1 trillion and 1665 company
listed as of December.
NSE is mutually owned by a set of leading financial institution, bank
insurance companies and other financial intermediaries in Indian but ownership
and management operate as separate entities. It is the largest Exchange in India
in terms of the number of trades and the daily turnover. The capitalization
amount of NSE amount to RS. 47 crores.
