I. OBJECTIVES
- Identifies the musical characteristics of representative selections pf
Cordillera, Mindoro, Palawan and of the Visayas after listening
(MU7LU-IIa-f-1)
Subtask : Geographical, cultural, and historical Background, Vocal Music and
Instrumental Music( Mindoro and Palawan)
II. SUBJECT MATTER
a. Topic : Music of Mindoro and Palawan
b. References : Music and Arts in Grade 7
c. Materials : PowerPoint Presentation and Video Clips
III. PROCEDURE

The teacher will give a short recap on the music of Cordillera.
A. Lesson Proper
1. Activity
 Divide the class into 4 groups.
 The teacher will give a short activity entitled “Say My Name”
2. Analysis
 What was the activity all about?
 What have you observed?
3. Abstraction
The teacher will discuss the different Vocal Music and Instrumental
music of Cordillera its musical characteristics.
 What are the vocal and instrumental music of Mindoro? Palawan?
 What are its musical characteristics?
4. Application (Listening activity)
After listening to the instrumental music of the Mindoro and Palawan, how
will you describe the sound of their Vocal and Instrumental Music?

IV. EVALUATION
Students will go to the same groupings in the previous activity.
 Direction: Compare and Contrast the vocal and instrumental
music of Mindoro and Palawan.
V. ASSIGNMENT
 Study on the musical elements of the vocal and instrumental music
of Visayas
