Introduction:
This bulletin describes the standardization of the electronic
control modules used with the 06TA/TR and 05TR/TR screw
compressors. It supersedes bulletin 00T-03.
Standardization:
Effective immediately, the 3TA1062 module without communications is no longer available. The
3TA1063 module may be used in its place. The table below shows the two kits that were previously
available and the updated recommendations for usage.
The LonCEM module interprets any voltage from the suction pressure transducer that is above 4.7
VDC to be a failed sensor and will lock-out the compressor on a Suction Pressure Transducer fault.
This 4.7 VDC level can only be reached when the system suction pressure exceeds 140 PSIG. These
suction pressures are not reached in systems that are operating normally and within our
Application guidelines. However, these suction pressures may be reached when a system has been
‘static’ for some period of time (such as when initially started or after prolonged power outages).
The externally connected diode corrected this issue.
Modules that have Revision W-1 on the label and with date codes beginning with 04/09 or later will
now have the Zener Diode installed internally. No external diode is required.
These newer modules are compatible with the previous 0TA1063 modules (date codes prior to
04/09) and will serve as the service replacement for those modules. If an external Zener Diode is
connected to one of these newer modules (which could occur in service replacement applications)
there will be no effect to the functionality or reliability of the module.
