The theme that I have chosen for my museum exhibit is military.

I selected the military theme

because in the history of River Valley civilization war is not a rare occurrence. In this regard,

military remains one of the most important experience that the nation must learn about

considering that the history of warfare in River valley civilization is entwined with that of

humankind.

The six artifacts that I have chosen to support the theme of military include; Mace head, Axe

head, Relief of servants, Spear shaft terminal, and statuette of Lama and warrior statute.

Mace Head

The mace head is a head of an Ancient mace which was an important piece of military weaponry.

The period of time it originates is 2700-2600 BCE. The mace head artifact will demonstrate the

pieces of weapons that were used by the soldiers in their warfare. In other words, it will act as

symbol of authority that will represent the ancient military.

Axe head

An axe head could be used as a tool or a weapon. Its period of origin is 2350-2150 BCE. Just like

the mace head, it will be an important artifact in the museum because it will also demonstrate the

pieces of tools and weapons used by the soldiers in the warfare. Therefore, it will serve as one of

the important tools that will demonstrate the military culture.

Relief of servants

Relief of servants portrays servants attending to some important guests such as political rulers

and religious leaders. Its period of origin is 358-338 BCE. Most notably, being that military

culture is developed through ethics and moral standards, the relief of servants will be used to

demonstrate the moral issues linked to the ancient military living standards.
Spear shaft terminal

The spear shaft terminal was used in combat as for target practice. Its period of origin is 900

BCE. It will be used to demonstrate some of the tools used by the warriors to make them more

accurate.

The statuette of Lama

The statuette of lama represents the goddess of protection of the warriors. Its period of origin is

1307-1282 BCE. Being that the most important role of the warriors was to protect the river

valley, the statute of the goddess by the name lama will be used to demonstrate the ancient

source of protection of the warriors.

Warrior statute

The warrior statuette is a statuette of the fierce warriors who participated during the valley

warfare. Its period of origin is 300 BCE. The statuette will be used to depict the military culture

by telling the stories of the military victories.
