Objectives: Draw and label the external parts of a flower showing the petals, sepals, anther,
filament (stamen), style and stigma (Pistil)
Differentiate between the male and female parts of the flower
Learning Activity/Explanation
A video is shown to pupils which highlights the external parts of the flower. In their groups,
students reinforce what was explained earlier by pointing to the parts of the flower as it is
explained in the video.
The teacher then puts up a chart where she asks students to come up to find the parts of the
flower she names.

In one group, students draw and label the parts of the flower as illustrated in the sample. In
another group students are given a table which they record and differentiate the male and
female parts of the flower.
