Greensboro: Name TBD by players

General ST Email: GSOCamarillaST@gmail.com

Storytellers: Anglee Leviner, Joseph Borneman
Narrators: Paul Facknitz, Nathan Custis
Game Area: City of Greensboro, NC / Guilford County

Themes: Corruption, Hypocrisy, Ambition, Deception, Power, Mystery, Hope, Conflict of Good and
Evil

Setting: For decades, the Steadfast Tower was progressive and inviting; a cornucopia of learned
conversations and peaceful politics. The domain received its name from a long-standing nickname
the now Prince has possessed for centuries, Steadfast Sabastian. Members of the Anarch
movement have lived freely here, side by side with the Camarilla - seeking to learn from one another
and spread this understanding throughout both sects. Such efforts culminated in the Edict of
Succession, and the Anarchs are now considered full members in good standing of the Camarilla
with all the protections that entail.

A few years ago, Prince Sabastian began to sequester himself away. Later he would begin to
accuse kindred close to him, including his officers, of grand schemes. These kindred would find
themselves exiled, or destroyed, with little to no evidence supporting the accusations. Time for
proper investigation was not offered, but those who looked into the matters found nothing to
substantiate the wild claims laid by the Prince.

Each month the Prince grows more secluded, only visiting court to lash out his version of justice.
Court gathered last week, and the Prince has dismissed his entire Primogen council. A change of
seasons has been enacted, and the Prince has threatened his domain to choose better Primogen
this time - as they do not wish to disappoint him again.

The setting will begin with a tyrant Prince. It is our desire to allow the characters to get to know one
another in this precarious situation; to form allies and understandings of one another before the push
to remove the tyrant. The NPC Prince is meant to be replaced and no undue resistance will be
offered to that goal. The name of the Domain will leave with said Prince and the players will choose
a new name for their new domain. Game 1 will primarily begin with clan meetings to establish new
Primogen and discuss where former ones have either gone or disappeared to. Some clans will have
their former Primogen present to discuss city affairs with. The clan of the Prince will be Nosferatu.

Sabastian Waller - The Prince - Nosferatu tyrant; paranoid many are trying to usurp his throne.
His actions have lead to what any would expect to be a self-fulfilling prophecy. In his paranoia
and overreactions, he has made himself a clear tyrant, the only question is what action will set
the revolution into motion.

Tone: Vampire the Masquerade is an Adult setting. As such we ask that you approach it with a
serious mindset and a willingness to explore the rich depths it has to offer, with keeping in mind the
encouraged choice of the “fade to black” policy.
All stories will have a place within this tone and expectation, focused on the nature of the Camarilla.
It is its own greatest enemy. Explore the depths of corruption and manipulation.

Premise: The stark decline of a once peaceful and welcoming domain, and how the members of
that domain handle the situation as it spirals out of control.

Fade to Black: In this commonly used policy, any player who feels the content of a scene or story is
too much for them for any reason may opt to walk away from the scene without expectation of in
character consequences for their absence. Naturally, this does not apply to scenes in which
character death is the cause of the aversion.

Role-play Consent: Between games it can be difficult to know what sort of head space a fellow
player might be in or what stresses they are dealing with in real life. This policy is not meant to
supercede players who make blanket agreements and have very well defined relationships. Much
like the no touching in larp rule, please err on the side of caution.
Policy: Please ask for role-play consent before sending in character messages unprompted. A quick
out of character verification that they have the time and or emotional energy to role-play is advised
before sending an IC message.

General Conceits:
-The scope of our PC game is Guilford County and all PC's must reside within that domain and be in
good standing with the domain to continue with that character. We will not allow renegade camps or
domains to be set up.

-Secondary characters will be limited to one per player. This policy will be further explored as the
game grows.

-Players may swap characters mid-session with ST approval and special or mitigating circumstances
as to why their original character is no longer playable. If any player states they are actively
searching for or hunting that character, a switch will not be allowed.

-The Proxy policy will allow hard proxies for NPC story resolution and local aid. Hard proxies will not
be allowed for CvC combat attempts.

-Characters are not allowed to follow each other home from game locations. It is contrived for the
purposes of having a regularly scheduled game that the characters meet regularly in the fashion
they do. Since we are pushing the characters to all meet in such a centralized fashion, it is
inappropriate to allow characters to follow one another from these locations after the close of the
game or in downtimes.

-"The Heat is On" policy will be utilized.

If you are being pursued (i.e. hunted) by PCs, and you miss three games in a row (either by
being absent or playing a secondary character) and are not active with that character in other
physical games, your pursuers are considered to be successful and we will run that scene,
hard proxying your character. This is to avoid dodging confrontations by simply not playing or
by playing only secondary characters.

Physically playing in other games with the hunted character exempts you from this policy, as
the character is still considered active.

-If you are recording something IC, you must also be recording it OOC so that there is an accurate
record of what happened, rather than attempts to remember after the fact.

-Assuming the player base is sufficient for it, we discourage players from holding more than one
political position for themselves to give other players an opportunity to experience those roles.

-Whenever possible, the Praxis positions (Prince, Primogen, Sheriff, etc.) will be comprised of player
characters.

-We have a mix of veteran and new players, and as such we expect that some will be very familiar
with the setting and game concepts while others will not. We encourage our new members to ask
questions and we ask our veteran players to support and mentor them in turn.

-Posts and messages to players outside our site during gameplay which involve events happening
during the event are not allowed. Sometimes scenes get changed, redlined, or rewound and it is
impossible to undo the spread of no-longer-accurate posted information.

-Any IC group made for Greensboro players must have the ST's as members and administrators.

-With the greater responsibility to game health they have, Officers of the Local domain must be
characters based out of the Greensboro game. This excludes Primogen.

-It requires familiarity to use Computer actions to spy on or remove actions from an NPC.

-Telepathy requires knowledge of the target, not familiarity as defined by the BNS book, but having
ever interacted with the target is required.

-Animalism communication uses can be understood by other characters with the Animalism
discipline.

Information for Travelers: Often referred to as the Gate City, Greensboro is a major hub of
highways in the middle of North Carolina and also boasts extensive train, trucking, and air
infrastructure. The city has served as a pipeline of goods, both legal and illicit, for over a century. As
such, travel into and out of the city is relatively easy, making Greensboro a great location for trade
and goods with the downside that the city’s borders are perhaps more porous for passers-through
than that of the average domain.
Elysium is known to be the Kress Terrace in Downtown Greensboro.

Visiting players are encouraged to provide the STs with information regarding their character’s travel
arrangements and methods, in the event that the local area is the focus of influence actions.

Costuming Requirements: We ask that all players wear at least one (1) article of clothing or prop
which represents their characters to let others know when they are in play. We feel that costuming is
well worth the effort and enhances the immersion, suspension of disbelief, and quality of the event.
Full costuming is *strongly* encouraged.

Background Requirements/Restrictions/Incentives:
1) Local Troupe Players are required to fill out and submit a background questionnaire before a
player character may enter play.
2) Visiting Players: Yorick link with a brief character summary entered in Yorick is sufficient.
3) Pre-generated characters for Trial Players: Background requirements are waived for a trial period.
Come try the game out, we make everything you need to walk onto the field.
4) Anarch slots are limited to three. Be advised non-Camarilla characters are expected to be
focused on the Camarilla setting, and will not be allowed to form their own sect positions and
holdings. To this end, Anarch characters are encouraged to be “Loyal Opposition” (Pg 465 BNS)
5) Independent Alliance slots are limited to two, and likewise, to the Anarch restrictions, they should
be emissaries to the Camarilla, welcomed into the Greensboro Domain.
6) Plots will primarily be introduced through Neonate and Ancilla aged characters, as the young play
a far more active role in the world still - Elders will be encouraged to form relationships with these
characters to gain involvement. This does not apply to player-formed machiavellian schemes, which
are expected to be top down in nature.
7) We reserve the right to place a temporary freeze on Elder characters if the game becomes
imbalanced. Currently, there will not be caps on these generations.
8) Rare high merit cost clans/concepts will be by approval only.

Good Form/Bad Form Gaming Policy:

In addition to the Underground Theater Code of Conduct, our local troupe members and any visiting
players agree to abide by the following policy:

As we are responsible players, our Bad Form policy encourages our players to question or otherwise
raise concerns to other players when they believe a player is engaged in an activity which we might
consider Bad Form on the field.

These things include but are not limited to:

Blatant negative Meta-Gaming (the use of information your character could not possess without
active cheating), constantly stepping out of RP, disrupting the game in an out of character way,
physical contact without asking, etc.
In addition to redress through an ST (if they're more comfortable with that), we've encouraged our
players to pull the offending party aside or call them out and say something like:

"Hey, Bad Form, let's get back into character." or "Are you sure your character would know that?
Isn't that Bad Form?" or "Bad Form, don't touch me."

If the situation requires more than a polite request, it should be referred to an ST.

Downtime/XP and Attendance Policy:

- All local patrons will receive 8 xp each month.
- All local patrons will receive 2 xp for turning in a downtime report.
- Any local patron may submit a downtime report for an active character.
- Characters cease being active after a third consecutive game is missed.

Positive Story Reinforcement

Rewards and recognition for story-focused role-play will be announced at the beginning of each
game. There will be a slot in the downtime submission form to nominate players and explain
why they deserve to be recognized and encouraged for positive story contributions. The idea
and hope is to counteract negative bleed associated with story setbacks and social/physical
character consequences by offering positive encouragement to the player for the memorable
story they have given their time and talents to provide for everyone’s enjoyment.

Negative Reinforcement
Suspensions and bans will await players who ooc threaten, bully, harass other players with
clear attempts to benefit ICly. This includes ooc threats about ic consequences for ic choices.
Or pushing players to do or not do specific things ic. Tantrums, fits, and negative reactions on
the field will also not be tolerated. There is nothing about LARP sessions that cannot be handled
like reasonable and mature adults and this expectation will be enforced. The overall fun of the
game will not be compromised by a desire to have a large attendance.

-When staff witnesses harassment or bullying themselves, a warning will be given to that player.
-When a player reports harassment, it will be investigated by staff, and that player may receive a
warning.
-Warnings will last and be tracked by the calendar year. An actively warned player who is
caught by staff or reported reliably by other players to be bullying or harassing again will be
suspended for three games and not allowed to submit downtime reports.
-Following any suspension during this chronicle, any offense discovered after will lead to being
banned from the game.
