VI- INTRODUCTION
It is proposed to provide Cassette type split units, with condensate drain pump, for round the clock air
conditioning of Server room, CAD room & Switch rooms at different floors.
The vendor is requested to submit the offer for the proposed work and the job to be executed by him
based on the specifications & quantity schedule furnished herein.
GENERAL
A air conditioning system comprising of Cassette type split units is proposed for the Server room, CAD
room & Switch rooms at different floors of NHAI corporate office building at Dwarka to maintain
desired environmental conditions. The total area to be air-conditioned is 124 Sq. Mtr. The effective
height of the subject rooms to be air-conditioned is 3.5 Mtr. The Server room, CAD room & switch
rooms are primarily air conditioned with a view to provide a dust free controlled atmosphere for proper
working of equipment. The aim is to help create optimum air conditions in the subject rooms whilst
using the minimum amount of energy and maintaining desirable conditions and to get maximum output
from the equipment.

It is clearly understood that these loads are for tenderer's guidance only. The tenderer shall carry out
necessary calculations and provide alternative equipment, if required, to achieve the specified inside
conditions in the spaces in case he feels that the equipment specified in the tender may not meet the
specified conditions. This should be supported by actual calculations. Complete architectural sets of
drawings are available in the Owners office and reference may be made to these drawings as required
for calculations or for other details. The Contractor shall also guarantee that performance of various
equipment, individually, shall not be less than, the quoted ratings and actual power consumption shall
not exceed the quoted rating.
Existing System:
The existing system comprises of air conditioning of the subject rooms through air handling units of the
existing central chilling plant used for air conditioning of the remaining building.
As the server room has equipment, which is temperature sensitive it is required to provide regular air
conditioning in these rooms, which is not possible after office hours & at the time of holidays as central
plant remains off at these times and it is neither feasible nor recommended to run the whole plant only
for IT rooms.
Keeping in view these things a dedicated system, comprising of Cassette type split units, has been
designed to cater the air conditioning requirements of server rooms, twenty four hours a day round the

The proposed air-cooled split units are designed to comply with air quantity requirement of the area, it is
clear that though tonnage required is low but air quantity requirement is high. Though the system shall
work for twenty-four hours a day round the year, no stand by units is required, as the units are
sufficiently oversized such that the compressor is not over worked.
