This anthology documents 'How We See', a travelling public reading room comprising 100
photography books by an international range of female photographers. Although women have
made significant contributions to the rich history of photobooks, their numbers in prominent
publisher inventories and among widely promoted books are relatively small when compared to
their male peers. This close examination of the distinctive qualities of these books by women,
such as content, design, and intellectual attributes, offers a means of understanding and re-
establishing their place within the photobook practice and genre. Includes an annotated history,
essays, and reference lists.

Selected by twelve Latin American specialists, this photobook anthology documents a traveling
reading room exhibition of 130 contemporary Latin American photobooks. The featured
publications offer a range of recently published material from the 21st century that are seldom
seen or available outside the region. Together they represent many new developments and
innovations in Latin American photography and publications. Copiously illustrated and indexed,
the anthology provides detailed bibliographic information for all of the selections. 'CLAP!' is
designed by Ricardo Baez and features essays by Luis Weinstein and Joaquim Marcal F. de
Andrade.
