when creating a tunnel, on both main and protection trails.

9
LSP TUNNEL RESTORATION

 It is possible to enable LSP tunnel restoration for

bidirectional tunnels. Restoration of both linear protected
and unprotected tunnels is supported. If multiple link failures
are detected in the original LSP, Lightsoft dynamically
restores the relevant tunnels by configuring alternative
routes, working link by link and taking all active failures into
account at the time of restoration. As the participating links
are repaired, Lightsoft reverts the tunnels where possible to
the original links.

10
NETWORK DIAGNOSTICS

 The Throughput test enables you to check SLAs between service endpoints and
can be used in network service diagnostics. It simulates the sending of frames of
a specific rate to test CIR throughput. LightSOFT measures the frames sent and
received, and records details of lost frames.

11
NEW CLOCK SOURCES FOR SYNCE AND PTP

 LightSOFT supports clock sources appropriate for Synchronous Ethernet

(SyncE) and IEE 1588v2 Precision Time Protocol (PTP) synchronization
methods. SyncE works with a line clock source for Ethernet interfaces
only, where PTP works with a range of clock source types.
 Timing-related fields have been moved from Properties for LE window to
the Properties for ME window.
 You can view timing sources in the Timing Map.

12

package: run an initial reference test, save the results for comparison with newer
tests, and view all the results
 Determine the location of fiber cuts
 Provide a record of how fiber loss and reflectivity change over time
 Managing the OTDR tests via LightPulse requires purchase of the LightPulse
OTDR cost option (P/N X92172)

20
LATENCY SUPPORT

 Of particular importance when configuring data services over optical

networks
 Users can display the round-trip latency of bidirectional LP or ODU trails,
as measured by Apollo NEs

21
LATENCY SUPPORT

 Users can set latency as a pathfinding optimization criterion

 When used as a pathfinding optimization criterion, users may select a
maximum latency delay value, beyond which paths will be rejected
 Configuring Pathfinder criteria requires the Level 2 cost option (P/N
X36887)

22
OPTICAL TRAILS MIGRATION

 When inserting amplifiers or CT Filters into OTS links, optical trails

migration is not required, as it is not necessary to perform provisioning of
OCH trails when adding this equipment. In such cases, performing TCI is
sufficient.

23
ENHANCED ACTIVE OPTICAL TRAIL VIEW

24
ENHANCED ACTIVE OPTICAL TRAIL VIEW

 The ‘show active view’ feature for optical trails has been significantly
enhanced by adding support for arrows showing the actual direction of
