Friends leaving their houses

(Parallel editing) Both friends leave their separate houses

and start skating about, eventually they meet up at the skate
park.

Scene 1 – skate Park

Ryan

Yo man, how’s it going?

(Friends fist bump)

Jake

Yeah, I’m good.

Friends skate for a short period of time then sit down to

talk.

Jake

What you doing later?

Ryan

I got work tonight.

Jake

Nahhhh man, call in sick, let’s go out tonight. (Laughing)

Ryan

I can’t, sorry man.

 Jake

Of course you can, come on!

Ryan

I really can’t.

Jake

Why have you become so boring recently? You don’t wanna do

anything fun with me anymore.

Ryan

Yeah I know but I’m in a bit of a tight situation at the

minuet so I need the money.

Jake

(Angrily) All you care about is money, life is too short you
need to have fun.

Ryan

(Snaps) shut up! Just coz I don’t wanna waste my life away
like you.

Jake

Oh, Ok, I see how it is then.

Jake picks up his board and starts to walk off

 Ryan

(Shouts) where are you going?

Jake

(Shouts) to go find someone who wants to have some fun

Ryan

(Sighs)

Jake skates off, when he skates past a bin he slows down and
stops next to it.

Jake

(To himself) I won’t be needing this anymore

Looks at his board and hesitates before throwing it in the

bin. He then walks off.

Scene 2 – park

Jake walks past someone sat on a bench but he is looking down

at the ground because he is sad.

Liam

Oi, come over here!

Jake looks up from the ground and looks around.

Liam

Yeah, I’m talking to you.

Jake turns around and sees Liam then walks over to him.

Liam

Ay man, what’s up? What you look so sad for?

Jake

(sighs) nothing much, don’t worry about it.

Jake starts to walk off but Liam grabs his shoulder.

Liam

Come on tell me, you’ll feel better if you get it off your
chest.

Jake

Alright, me and a mate had a little falling out, that’s all.

Liam

Come tell me about this mate then.

Liam signals for Jake to sit down next to him and he does.

When Jakes sits down Liam holds out his hand for a hand shake
and Jake shakes it.

Liam

Liam.

Jake

Liam

Jake

Yeah, we’ve been best mates for years but recently

everything’s been different…

Scene 3- Back at the Skate Park.

Ryan is sat at the skate park with his head in his hands, you
hear the sound of a skateboard approaching.

Phil

Yo man, you good?

Ryan looks up and fist bumps Phil

Ryan

Yeah man, I’m alright.

Phil

Where’s Jake at?

Ryan

(sighs) we had a bit of an argument

Phil

Ah shit, what happened?

 Ryan

I said some stuff that I shouldn’t have and he stormed off.

Phil

Should we go find him and talk to him?

Ryan

Nah, let’s leave him alone for a bit.

Phil

Alright if you’re sure.

Ryan

Yeah I am

Phil

Let’s have a little skate to take your mind off things then.

Ryan

Nah man, do you mind if we get out of here? I just wanna chill
for a bit.

Phil

Sure man, let’s go.

The two friends skate off.

Scene 4- back at the park bench

Jake and Liam are still sat on the park bench, they are
laughing.

Liam

(Stops laughing) so you wanna have some fun yeah?

Jake

(Stops laughing) yeah man

Liam

Alright, come with me then, I’ll show you a good time.

They get up and walk off.

Liam

Ok, so what we’re gunna do is go into that shop (points at

shop), get anything you want, put it in your pockets and walk
back out.

Jake

Stealing? Won’t we get in trouble for that?

Liam

(Scoffs) only if we get caught.

Jake

(Looks hesitant) I don’t know

 Liam

Think about it like this, if you get everything for free then
you don’t need to waste your life working like your dickhead
friend.

Jake

Let’s do it.

Liam

Its gunna be easy

They walk into the shop

In shop- a short montage of the two collecting food and drink.

Jake looks at Liam and Liam nods, jakes smiles and they both
walk back out of the shop.

They walk out of the shop door and start walking away.

Liam

See I told you it would be easy.

Shop owner

OI! Come back here!

The two look over their shoulder and then run off round the
corner.

They stop and lean against a wall panting because they are out
of breath, they then both burst out laughing.

Liam

Was that fun or what

 Jake

Yeah (laughing)

Liam

(Catches his breath back) So what are you doing tomorrow?

Jake

I got no plans, why?

Liam

Do you wanna meet up and do some more fun stuff?

Jake

(Grins) I thought you would never ask.

Liam

(Grins) alright, I’ll see you tomorrow then and you best not
be wearing that skater shit.

Jake

(Fist bumps Liam and laughs) alright, safe man, I’m defiantly
not gunna be skating anymore.

Both walk off in separate directions

Scene 5- In town

Liam and Jake meet up, it is early evening.

 Jake

Yo man. (Fist bumps Liam)

Liam

Yo

Jake

So what we gunna do today?

Liam

Look, I know yesterday I said that you don’t need money but
who do you feel about making some. Very easily.

Jake

(Mischievous look on his face) What’s the plan?

Liam

Well the only way to get money other than earning it, is to
take someone else’s.

Jake

Ok…

Liam

You see that guy over there? (Points across the road)

Jake

Yeah
 Liam

Well I used to go to school with him so I know that his family

is super rich, I bet his wallet is full right now.

Jake

So what’s the plan?

Liam

Well, we’re gunna take him down the alley and then ask him
nicely for his money. He won’t make a fuss because he has so
much money that he won’t even care that it’s gone.

Jake

Sounds good.

The two walk off towards the person across the street, you see
them push him into the alley from a distance.

Jake

(Aggressively) Yo bruv, give us your wallet

Stranger 1

(Pleading)Come on guys, I barely have any money.

Liam grabs him by the shoulders and pushes him against the
wall.

Liam

(Very aggressively) He asked you nicely, now don’t make me you

again.
 Stanger 1

(Scared) Ok, I’m sorry, please don’t hurt me.

The stranger hands over his wallet and Liam snatches it out of
his hands.

Liam

(Sarcastically) Thanks

Jake

(To the stranger) Get out of here

Stranger runs out of the alley.

Liam

We better dip.

Liam and Jake walk off down the alley.

Scene 6- housing estate

Liam and Jake are walking through houses, they take out the
wallet that they just stole and open it up.

Liam

Aw shit.

Jake

What is it?
 Liam

There’s only like £10 in here

Jake

(Confused) I thought you said that guy was rich?

Liam

I lied, I had no idea who that guy was, and I knew that you
wouldn’t do it unless I said he was.

Jake

Why did you want me to do it so bad?

Liam

Because I can see that you’ve been pushed around your whole
life, your friends didn’t look out for you when you were
looking out for them. I want to make you tough so you can
stand up for yourself.

Jake

Thanks, I guess

The two walk in silence for a short period of time. A stranger

accidently bumps into Jake as he walks past them.

Stanger 2

Sorry mate.

Stranger carries on walking.

Liam turns and looks at Jake

Jake

Liam

(Shouts at Jake) Beat the shit out of him!

(Takes a deep breath) ok.

They both run after the stranger, Jake pushes him over round a
corner, he beat him up but you only see half of it from round
the corner, no violence is shown.

Liam stands to the side cheering.

Liam

Yeahhhh Jake, show him whose boss.

Jake throws one last punch then gets up and him and Liam both
run off.

Scene 7- Gang leaders’ house

They are walking along a road.

Liam

See now you’ve proved yourself.

Jake

Er, yeah

Liam

Come, there’s someone I want you to meet.

They turn into a drive way and walk up to the house and knock
on the door, someone lets them in.

When inside they walk into the lounge.

Liam

Alright Jake, I want you to meet Davey, Davey this is Jake.

Davey

(To Jake) Yo man, what you saying?

Jake

Urm…

Davey

(Laughs) Ha, don’t worry g, no one knows how to reply to that

question. How can I help you boys then?
 Liam

Davey you gotta let this guy join us, I’ve only been hanging
out with him for a few days and I already know that he’s one
of us, he won’t take any shit from anyone. Before we got here
he battered some guy just because he bumped into him.

Jake

(Quietly) But you… (Louder) Join what?

Davey

(Laughs) aha, you nutter. (Pause) Join the family mate, it

sound like you got what we need and you need people to look
out for you don’t you?

Liam

Yeah he does, his old mates where dickheads.

Davey

(Looks Jake in the eyes) So what do you say?

Davey

Great. Before we make it official there’s one thing I need you

to do, to prove your loyalty y’know?

Davey reaches under his seat and pulls out a gun, he holds it
out for Jake to grab, he does, and they are both holding the
gun.

Davey

(Seriously)I want you to kill someone, I don’t care who, you

can choose.

Jake

(Very scared) ok.

Liam

(Whispers to Jake) I know the perfect person.

Scene 8 – Ryan’s house

Ryan and Phil are sat on his bed playing Xbox. Ryan’s phone
starts ringing, he picks it up and looks at it.

Ryan

It’s Jake!

Ryan answers the phone

Ryan

Hey man, look I’m sorry about...

Jake

(Interrupts him) Yo, can you meet me later, I need to talk to

you.

Ryan

Yeah sure, do you want Phil to come as well?

 Jake

Nah, this is just between me and you.

Ryan

Alright, where do you want me to meet you?

Jake

The car park at the top of West Street at 8 o’clock.

Ryan

Ok, see you then (sounding optimistic)

Jake hangs up and the phone beeps.

Ryan

(To Phil) that was weird.

Phil

Scene 8- Car park

Ryan walks round the corner into the car park and sees Jake
stood at the far end and walks over to him.

Ryan

Yo man, how’s it going?

Jake

(Stays silent and stares at Ryan)

 Ryan

Look, I’m sorry about what I said before, I didn’t mean it.

Jake

(Remains silent and staring)

Ryan

I shouldn’t have said it but I wasn’t thinking straight.

Jake

(Remains silent and staring)

Ryan

I’ve had a lot of shit going on in my life recently that’s

been making me really stressed out. I should have told you
because you’re my best friend.

Jake

(Remains silent and staring)

Ryan

Come on man! Say something! Your like my brother, I don’t

wanna lose you because of this.

Jake takes a sharp breath and pulls a gun out from behind his
back and points it at Ryan.

Ryan

W-w-what are you doing?

 Jake

(Upset) I’m sorry.

There is silence and Jake and Ryan both stand frozen staring
at each other.

Liam steps out of the shadows.

Liam

What are you doing?! Shoot him!

Ryan

Is this who is making you do this?!

Liam

Shut up bruv!

Ryan

Please Jake, we’ve been best mates for years!

Liam

Kill him!

Ryan

Don’t do this.

Jake starts breathing very fast and heavy. He starts pointing

the gun at Liam then back at Jake and continues switching
between them.
 Liam

What are you doing?!

Jake continues switching between them. He takes a deep breath

and a gunshot goes off, the screen cuts to black.

Most of my locations will not need backup locations as they are out in public so
there is no reason that I would not be able to film there. However there are a
few that may need backups
