Many of the mansions of the time are preserved to this day,

the straits, fortified behind their tall walls. Several of them remain
privately owned and inhabited to this day, restored - at least

The Maloge Mansion is next to the mansion
Neratzopoulos - Sahini, in the heart of the Siatista

Chora. It was built in 1759, at a time when the city of

Valuable heritage
One of the most beautiful houses in Siatista, the Dolgira Mansion

was rescued thanks to the efforts of the club "Markis Poulios" and
was restored as it was in its original form.

City known for its fur trade and the wine, Siatista flourished in the

built by Epirus and Macedonian craftsmen, some of whom live and
testify to the grandeur of the North-Helladic city. Dolgira Mansion,
the most well-preserved of the remaining thirty remaining houses
of Siatista, was built in the early 1700s by Cholgira, a villain of the
area and originally a middle-sized stone-built home. A hundred
years later, the house was inherited by Dimitrios Dolgiras, a
wealthy merchant who for his work traveled continuously from
Vienna to Adrianople and from Constantinople to Smyrna.

In 1840, Dolgira brought folk painters who crafted the interior with
beautiful colors and motifs. It was also decorated with furniture
from Vienna, Budapest and Bucharest and amazing chandeliers
that were not saved. The Archontiko belongs today to Dolgira heirs,
who dispersed in various parts of the world and granted their use
for 23 years to the Cultural Cultural Association of Siatista "Markíki
Pouliou". Thanks to the efforts of the members of the club,

a world that has remained in history, but its spirit and creative

Siatista consists of two urban settlements with important

ecclesiastical, community and secular monuments. Perhaps it is
the only city that has rescued the form of old nobility. The large
number of mansions occupy the nuclei of the settlements, which

of the city in the 18th and 19th centuries. As they still raise their
stature to the stubbornness of time and indifference, Siatista
becomes legendary and acquires a dimension in space and time.

The famous mansions of Siatista are works of a great architecture

that is a continuation of Byzantine. They were built by craftsmen in
the area thanks to the capabilities of the merchant merchants,

The mansion of Nerantzopoulos or Hatzigiannidis is located in the

square of Chora. He belonged to Hatzigiannidis, who made a

According to the inscription, it was built in 1754 and was decorated

in the following years. It saves a unique stained glass on the
second floor of Sachinism, distinct paintings and wood sculpture.
In 1969, the mansion of Nerantzopoulos was bought by the Greek

state. The mansions were made in the time of the great prosperity
of Siatista, a proof of the wealth of the city's inhabitants in the 18th

What distinguishes their interior is the comfortable and richly

The wood-carved decoration, the skylights and the stained-glass

windows impress the Nerantzopoulos mansion. In the skylights,
apart from the beautiful plaster frames, the engraved patterns,
inscriptions and lyrics are interesting.
Filmed on smoked glass (in sgraffito), the latter are written in the
ancient language and glorify the beauty and majesty of the house.
Today the mansion belongs to the Ministry of Culture and
functions as a visiting museum space.
Visiting mansions are: Nerantzopoulos, Manousi, Poulkos, Dolgira,

Dintsiou. The rescue of mansions with a functional character and
not just a museum is not just the rescue of the past, it is for the
