Live Out Thy Life Within Me

by Rex Conklin with Frank Klin

Come now let us reason together. We are challenged to be Bereans so test the spirits
and search the Scriptures to see if these things are so. Study with a friend and pray for
discernment because we are promised that wherever two or three are gathered in Jesus’
Name, He is there. Encourage each other. Pray with and for each other. May you be
richly blessed as you study His Word.

“Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus
our Lord, according as His divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain
unto life (2222) and godliness, through the knowledge of Him that hath called us to
glory and virtue: whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious
promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped
the corruption that is in the world through lust. - (2 Peter 1:2-4)

The apostles declared, “But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all
things, and we in Him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by
Him. That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen
with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of
Life (2222); (For the Life (2222) was manifested, and we have seen, and bear witness, and
shew unto you that eternal Life (2222), which was with the Father, and was manifested
unto us;) That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may
have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son
Jesus Christ.” – (1 Corinthians 8:6; 1 John 1:1-3)

Jesus exclaimed in prayer to His Father, “And this is life (2222) eternal, that they might
know Thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom Thou hast sent.” – (John
17:3)

“[W]e have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of
God, and not of us. We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; perplexed, but not
in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; always bearing
about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life (2222) also of Jesus might be
made manifest in our body. For we which live are alway delivered unto death for
Jesus' sake, that the life (2222) also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal
flesh.” - (2 Corinthians 4:7-11)

“Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive
the crown of life (2222), which the Lord hath promised to them that love Him.” -
(James 1:12)

Life – Strong’s Greek 2222: zoe, vital spirit, the breath of life, refering to the principle
of the life in the spirit and soul, zoe is the nobler word expressing the highest and
best which Christ is. From this Divine fountain of life flows forth that life real and
genuine obtained by fellowship with Christ where the grace (divine influence) of
God is evident in the life obtained. A life active and vigorous, devoted to God, blessed,
the portion even in this world of those who put their trust in Christ, and after the
resurrection to last forever. (Zodhiates Lexical Aids of the New Testament, Thayer’s
Lexicon)

“In Christ is life original, unborrowed, underived.” (1898 E.G. White, The Desire of Ages,
p. 530)

How did the Son of God receive this life?

“In Him was life (2222); and the life (2222) was the light of men. For as the Father hath
life (2222) in Himself; so hath He given to the Son to have life (2222) in Himself;” -
(John 1:4; John 5:26)

As Jesus said, “It is the Spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words
that I speak unto you, they are Spirit, and they are Life (2222). - (John 6:63)

“And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was
made a quickening Spirit. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. For if,
when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of His Son, much
more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by His life (2222)." - (1 Corinthians 15:45;
Galatians 5:25; Romans 5:10)

“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life (2222) through Jesus
Christ our Lord. For the law of the Spirit of Life (2222) in Christ Jesus hath made me
free from the law of sin and death.” - (Romans 6:23; Romans 8:2)

For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life (2222) and peace.
For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to
the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life (2222) everlasting. And if Christ be in you, the
body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life (2222) because of righteousness.” -
(Romans 8: 6; Galatians 6:8; Romans 8:10)

“Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to
whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? And
they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.-
(Romans 6:16; Galatians 5:24)

[N]ow being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit
unto holiness, and the end everlasting life (2222). [T]he fruit of the Spirit is love, joy,
peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against
such there is no law. (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness
and truth;)” - (Romans 6:22; Galatians 5:22-23; Ephesians 5:9)

“For in Him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets
have said, For we are also His offspring.” - (Acts 17:28)

“The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
and if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we
suffer with Him, that we may be also glorified together.” - (Romans 8:16-17)

“Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But
we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the
same image from glory to glory, as of the Lord, the Spirit (margin).” - (2 Corinthians 3:17-
18)

2
“The Spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me
life. O Lord, by these things men live, and in all these things is the life of my spirit: so
wilt Thou recover me, and make me to live.” - (Job 33:4; Isaiah 38:16)

“Marvel not, My brethren, if the world hate you. We know that we have passed from
death unto life (2222), because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother
abideth in death. Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no
murderer hath eternal life (2222) abiding in him.” - (1 John 3:13-15)

“And, behold, one came and said unto Him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do,
that I may have eternal life?" "And He said unto him, Why callest thou Me good? there is
none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life (2222), keep the
commandments. That thou mightest fear the Lord thy God, to keep all His statutes
and His commandments, which I command thee, thou, and thy son, and thy son's
son, all the days of thy life; and that thy days may be prolonged." - (Matthew 19:16-
17; Deuteronomy 6:2)

"And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in His
Son. He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life (2222): and he that believeth
not the Son shall not see life (2222); but the wrath of God abideth on him. He that hath
the Son hath life (2222); he that hath not the Son of God hath not life (2222). These things
have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know
that ye have eternal life (2222), and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.”
- (1 John 5:11; John 3:36; 1John 5:12-13)

"Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life (2222): he that believeth in Me,
though he were dead, yet shall he live: For whoso findeth Me findeth life, and shall
obtain favour of the Lord. He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life
in this world shall keep it unto life (2222) eternal. And this is the will of Him that sent
me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on Him, may have
everlasting life (2222): and I will raise him up at the last day." - (John 11:25; Proverbs
8:35; John 12:25; John 6:40)

“Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that
followeth Me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life (2222). The
thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might
have life (2222), and that they might have it more abundantly. And I give unto them
eternal life (2222); and they shall never perish, neither shall any pluck them out of
My hand. When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God,
saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life (2222). -
(John 8:12; John 10:10; John 10:28; Acts 11:18)

“And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding,
that we may know Him that is true, and we are in Him that is true, in His Son Jesus
Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life (2222). To whom God would make known
what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ
in you, the hope of glory: - (1 John 5:20; Colossians 1:27)

“Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right Spirit within me. Cast me not
away from thy presence; and take not thy holy Spirit from me. Restore unto me
the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me free Spirit. - (Psalms 51:10-12)

3
“Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in Thy presence is fulness of joy; at Thy right
hand there are pleasures for evermore. For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy
light shall we see light.” - (Psalms 16:11; Psalms 36:9)

“Thou hast made known to me the ways of life (2222); thou shalt make me full of joy
with Thy countenance (presence).” - (Acts 2:28)

“I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and
the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved
me, and gave Himself for me. For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being
burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might
be swallowed up of life (2222). Therefore we are buried with Him by baptism into
death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father,
even so we also should walk in newness of life (2222).” - (Galatians 2:20; 2
Corinthians 5:4; Romans 6:4)

The beauty of Heaven is not that we get to live forever, like it’s all about us, but that we
will have our Life Jesus, eternal and everlasting. What a comfort to know that we can
have this Life of our Saviour flowing freely in us now through His Spirit even before His
gift of immortal Life original, unborrowed and underived. We want nothing between us
and our Saviour, no other being, spirit, or god. Come to the water and drink of His Life
freely. Taste and see that He is good. Let Him live in you today.

Live out Thy life within me, O Jesus, King of kings!

Be Thou Thyself the answer to all my questionings;
Live out Thy life within me, in all things have Thy way!
I, the transparent medium, Thy glory to display.

The temple has been yielded, and purified of sin,

Let Thy Shekinah glory now shine forth from within,
And all the earth keep silence, the body henceforth be
Thy silent, gentle servant, moved only as by Thee.

Its members every moment held subject to Thy call,

Ready to have Thee use them, or not be used at all,
Held without restless longing, or strain, or stress, or fret,
Or chafings at Thy dealings, or thoughts of vain regret.

But restful, calm and pliant, from bend and bias free,
Awaiting Thy decision, when Thou hast need of me.
Live out Thy life within me, O Jesus, King of kings!
Be Thou the glorious answer to all my questionings.
Frances Ridley Havergal, 1836-1879

"But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of
God; and that believing ye might have life (2222) through His name." - (John 20:31)
