Guidance Notes
1. A maximum of 50% of ties should be reveal ties, unless specifically designed.
2. Because reveal ties depend on the timber packing for their anchorage, they should be checked frequently for
tightness.
3. * Enure use of correct coupler fitting between scaffold tube (Æ48.3) and aluminium tower tube (Æ50.8)

Guidance Notes
1. Used where the only available anchorage is a roof parapet or wall.
2. Ensure anchorage is structurally sound and loose masonery is secured or removed.
3. Ties should normally be placed at a maximum of every 4m vertically, but where this is not possible and a lip tie is
used, the tower base should be extended as far as possible with stabilisers, or additional frames.
4. The maximum height for use of lip ties should be 12m above ground level, or 12m above last solid tie.
5. * Ensure use of correct coupler fitting between Scaffold Tube (Æ48.3) and Aluminium Tower tube (Æ50.8).
