Zinc oxide eugenol-based root canal sealer

“EUGETIN”

INDICATIONS
The scope of use is dentistry. Professional use in the healthcare facility. Sealer EUGETIN is used for seal
tooth root canals in the treatment of pulpitis and all forms of periodontitis especially in the cases of filling
tooth root canals with morphological changes. This sealer is recommended to use in combination with
gutta-percha.

SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS
Drug idiosyncrasy.
Use with great care for allergic patient to eugenol, iodine and corticosteroids.
Don’t misuse.

POSSIBLE ADVERSE EFFECTS

If the conditions of storing, transporting and following the instructions are satisfied, there are no adverse
effects.

COMPOSITION AND CLINICAL PHARMACOLOGY

Sealer EUGETIN is produced in the kit with the powder/liquid and belongs to zinc oxide/eugenol class.
The powder contains zinc oxide; calcium phosphate which promotes bone regeneration; radiopaque
contrast filler for monitoring of canal filling according to X-ray image; powerful antiseptic duration –
thymol iodide; additive analgesic (dexamethasone – 0.01%; hydrocortisone acetate – 1.00%), significantly
reducing reactions periapical pain; plasticizer for receiving of the soft paste after mixing the powder with
the liquid in the ratio 7:1.
The liquid contains eugenol which is modified with polymeric material which provides after hardening
receiving non-compression product which is insoluble in the distilled water at temperature 37°C (solubility
is 0.15 %, it is 20 times lower than maximum limit according the standard). The thickness of the sealer is
3-5 µm that allows antiseptic product to enter microcanals and the furcation of the root canal, to use this
paste in seal with the points. Eugenol softens the surface of the gutta-percha points, combines them
together; that allows to fill the root canal tightly and isolate it from microorganisms.
The paste received after mixing EUGETIN components at temperature 23°C does not lose its plasticity in
the mixing plate during 5-6 hours and sets in the mouth cavity during 24-48 hours. If necessary the sealer
can be removed out of the canal without special efforts.
In filling of the tooth canal with the eugenol containing product it is necessary to use lining (eugenol
disarranges the structure of the polymer-based material).
Dental product is produced for using in aggressive biological matrix with the temperature range between
32°C and 42°C (in the mouth cavity at the temperature (37±1)°C and humidity 60-90 %).

METHODS OF ADMINISTRATION
Sealer EUGETIN is mixed at temperature (18-23)°C and relative air humidity 45-55 %.
For filling canals the paste is received after mixing of 2 dosage meters (0.20-0.21 g) of powder with1 drop
(0.03 g) of the liquid. The root canal is prepared with help of the gel or liquid for enlargement of root
canals, is antiseptic treated and dried (with the use of liquids or gels by the “TehnoDent” production). The
paste is injected into the prepared and dried canal with the root needle or root canal filling instrument.
The filling of the canal or removing of root canal filling instrument is performed al low rotation of the dental
drilling machine for pushing out the air and sealing the material in the canal. The protruding substance is
removed, is isolated by the lining and is restored tooth crown.
In filling with gutta-percha the paste is injected into the prepared canal and obturated with the points or is
inserted on the points.
Close the products tightly after use.
