Procedure to update the MELSEC PLC USB drivers to support

Windows 7 64bit Systems

Please note that the GX IEC Developer 7.04 Software has not officially been release
under Windows 7, 64 bit Systems. However, Tests have been performed that show
that the software runs stable. The following procedure updates the communication
library called “Easysocket” and makes it suitable for supporting USB drivers for
the MELSEC PLC families under Windows7, 64bit systems:

1. Identify the subdirectory “MELSEC\Easysocket” in your installation, default is:

C:\MELSEC\Easysocket

2. Identify the subdirectory “USBDrivers” in the Easysocket directory:

3. Enter “USBDrivers” and delete all files.

4. Paste the new subdirectory from the ZIP archive and add the 4 files. It should look
like this:

5. Disconnect the USB cable! Then reconnect it:

The Driver will not be recognized automatically! This is normal!

6. Right-mouse-click on your computer and select Properties:

8. Identify the “unknown Device”, right-mouse-click to “update driver software”, and

point to the “C:\MELSEC\Easysocket\USBDrivers” directory:
