Figure 1 shows two views of a bungalow ;
The plan and an incomplete south elevation is given.
Specifications:

Walls External walls are one brick thick,


Internal walls are half-brick thick
Foundation 1000mm deep above the ground level, concrete strip foundation
670mm by 250mm thick

Floor and Ground floor: a 25mm thick timber board floor finish on 100mm
Finish over site concrete on 150mm thick hard core. The damp proof
course is at 150mm minimum above ground level, with a 120mm
by 20mm skirting in the bedrooms, hall, corridors, kitchen and
living room

Roof 3 mono pitch, single pitch roofs


The bigger roofs are a pitch of 35°. The hall roof is 10°.
Covering material is roof tiles on 50 x 50mm battens over a
plastic felt underlay over 50 x 150mm rafters.

Doors Dl is a double shuttered metallic casement door 1200x 2100mm,


D2 is 900mm x 2100mm, D3 are flush doors 900mm x 1860mm
with wooden architraves, D4 is 800mm x 1800mm opening with a
semi circular arch

Windows WI, W2, W3, W5 are glass louvered with different numbers of
compartments each 450mm wide. W1=4, W2=2, W3=3, W5=1.
W4 is a serving hatch

Corridor: 900mm wide.

1. Draw a freehand pictorial sketch of the Bungalow in figure 1 with


corner P in the foreground.
2. a) Using a scale of 1:100 draw the plan emphasizing on the sizes of
both load bearing and non load bearing walls with toilet fittings

b) To a scale of 1:50 draw a sectional end elevation along cutting plane


X-X through the roof to the concrete strip foundation. Show the
details as specified.

c) Print your name, title, examination number and date the bottom
right hand corner of your drawing paper.
