EXPERIMENT No# 2

TITLE
Determine of Absolute and Kinematic Viscosity of given Fluid Sample

INTRODUCTION
Viscosity of fluid is a measure of resistance to gradual deformation by shear stress or tensile stress. For
liquids, it corresponds to the informal concept of "thickness"; for example, honey has a much
higher viscosity than water. Viscosity of the fluids is the measure of restance you share on angle.
deformatin Kinematic viscosity is traditionally measured by noting the time it takes oil to travel through
the orifice of a capillary under the force of gravity. Absolute viscosity is measured as the resistance to
flow when an external .Absolute viscosity is the measure of fluid.

OBJECTIVE
Viscosity describe of fluid internal resistance to flow of water and through, measure of fluid friction.

Procedure
U-Tube Viscometer apparatus.

 Then put liquid in Viscometer, the value of which is to be measure.

 Apply sucking force with the help of sucker.
 Note the time required for the test liquid to flow through a capillary of a known diameter between
two marked points
 Put the liquids
 Proceed with the steps write above and repeat these steps three times consecutively.
 Now put values in formula to find Viscosit

DISSCUSSION

 Names of oil used.

 2nd column write a valu of fluid time during experiment.
 3nd column write a value of time of water required upper to lower marked point.
 Value of Density using formula ρ=m/v by dividing mass and volume.
 Viscosity of fluid multiply density and time ,density of water and its time

CONCLUSION

The result of Motor oil higher viscosity all its requires more time and low value of density
