Arts and Crafts Lunchtime Club

Fridays September 21st to November 30th

Week Activity Materials


1: September 21st Simply Drawing / Simply Painting Paper and drawing tool or paints

Let kids draw and paint and get comfortable


in the classroom with us. Have a variety of
papers (colours/sizes), kinds of paint, kinds of
drawing tools. Let kids showcase their
creativity.

2: September 28th Toothpick structures Toothpicks, sticky tack or clay

Students will build a variety of 3D structures


using toothpicks and sticky tack or clay. They
will be encouraged to be as creative as
possible with their structures.

3: October 12th Sun Catchers Outdoor materials

Day 1: students will go outside to collect


various items from nature such as leaves,
flowers, sticks, feathers.

4: October 19th Sun Catchers Sticky contact paper, coloured


tissue paper
Students will make a sun catcher by sticking
the various items they collected to the contact
paper. They will create a design of their own
choosing.

5: October 26th Crayon Water Colour Resist Thicker paper, wax crayons,
water colour paints
Students will draw something with wax
crayons on a paper. Then they will use water
colour paint to paint over their drawing to
produce a cool effect.

6: November 2nd Nature rubbings Paper, crayons, textured materials

Students will use different leaves and fabrics


(lace) or anything with a texture to create a
piece of art by placing the paper over the item
and rubbing a crayon over top.

7: November 9th Collages Glue stick, paper, old magazines


and books with pictures,
Students will cut out various images from old newspapers, print outs (if we
magazines and books and create people and a need to)
scene using them.
8: November 16th Mosaics Tissue paper, colour paper,
printed picture outlines, glue
Students will create a mosaic with tissue paper sticks
or various small pieces of paper to fill in an
outline of a picture of their choice.

9: November 23rd Class Project Left over supplies (paint,


crayons, colour paper, etc)
Part 1: Students will create a whole class
piece of art to be displayed in the hallway.
They will as a group choose a scene they
would like to create for a mural (on a large
colour paper) using one or multiple skills they
have learned throughout the session. Each
student will be assigned a specific part of the
project.
10: November 30th Class Project

Part 2: Students will continue and finish the


project.

Week Activity Materials
1: January 11th New Year Goals Number print outs, colour paper, scissors,
glue, marker/pencils.
Kids will cut out bubble numbers
2019 and blue them on a flip book.
Under each number they will write
one goal they have for the school
year. Goal examples could be (I will
read 10 books this year, I will be nice
to my friends, ect). They will
decorate the numbers and their flip
book using various materials.

2: January 18th Bookmark

Students will make a bookmark from


various cut outs. They will cut it and

3: January 25th Chinese New Year craft 1
