Kitanglad Mountain Range is a mountain range that dominates the northern central

portion of the province of Bukidnon. It occupies portions of eight of the municipalities

and cities in the province such as Talakag, Baungon, Libona, Manolo,
Fortich, Impasugong, Lantapan and Malaybalay City. The range is one of the few
remaining rainforests in the Philippines, hosting one of the most important diverse
species of rare and endemic wildlife such as the Philippine eagle. Five of its peaks have
very high elevations: Mount Dulang-dulang, the highest at 2,938 meters; Mount
Kitanglad at 2,899 meters; Mount Maagnaw at 2,742 meters; Mount Lumuluyaw at 2,612
meters; and Mount Tuminungan at 2,400 meters.
The name "kitanglad" was derived from a legend that there was once a great flood that
submerged the native lands of Bukidnon and only the tip of the mountain, the size of
a "tanglad" (lemon grass), remained visible ("kita" in Cebuano).
Located just 5
kilometers southeast
of Central Mambajao
at the foot of Mt.
Timpoong is
the Katibawasan Falls.
Measuring about 250 feet high, the falls is a lovely clear stream of cool waters rushing
down to a green rock pool surrounded by ground orchids, wild ferns, trees and boulders.
Ideal for a refreshing swim, its ice-cold water is the perfect antidote to the heat and
humidity of the tropical heat.

Surrounded with rocks, wild ferns and trees, this ice- cold pool at the bottom of the
falls is what the visitors come after to refresh themselves during hot days. Apart from
the waters, you will have a good view of giant ferns decorating the surrounding land,
providing a green carpet to all spaces. Huge trees and dropping vines provide a
picturesque backdrop to the falls as well.
Maria Cristina Falls is a waterfall of the Agus River on the island of Mindanao in
the Philippines. It is sometimes called the "twin falls" as the flow is separated by a rock
at the brink of the waterfall. It is a landmark of Iligan City, nicknamed the City of
Majestic Waterfalls, because of the presence of more than 20 waterfalls in the city. It
is located 9.3 kilometers away southwest of the city proper at the boundaries
of Barangays Maria Cristina, Ditucalan, and Buru-un. Well known for its natural beauty
and grandeur, the 320 - feet (98 meters) high waterfal is also the primary source of
electric power for the city's industries, being harnessed by the Agus
VI Hydroelectric Plant.

If you have been to Camiguin, a visit wouldn’t be complete if you haven’t made a trip to
White Island, a sandbar just a few meters away from the coast. But you’ll be glad (and
surprised) to find out that a similar (yet smaller) feature exists in Jasaan, Misamis
Oriental, a mere minutes away from Cagayan de Oro.
Agutayan Island is a marine sanctuary near the coast of Jasaan. It is accessible
through a number of ways, but the quickest and the easiest access is through Liyang
Beach, a few meters away from Jasaan proper. They have rentable boats for groups
which you can hire for around P1, 000., Agutayan is devoid of trees or plants, and only a
cottage for the sanctuary outpost stands on its side. It is advisable that you visit early
in the morning to avoid the harsh heat of the sun.
