This study aims to examine the significant relationship between the level of the marital

relationship and parental self-efficacy among married couples who have children with

special needs. The researcher conducted the study to 30 couples whose happen to have

a child with exceptionalities from the province of Davao del Norte. Modified Marital

Relationship and Parental Self-Efficacy Questionnaires were administered on the said

couples. The results have shown that there is a strong significant correlation between the

level of marital relationship and the level of parental self-efficacy. Undeniably this implied

that when couples have managed harmonious relationship it will always lead to an

efficient partnership in parenting their children even if it has special needs. A stable and

strong marital connection among parents of children with special needs affect how these

children grow. Though difficulties may arise, if one learns how to sacrifice for the sake of

the other, it is still possible for a family to provide a healthy enviroment for these kids. If

the couple has this strong bond to keep their family together and has this mutual aim of

providing what if best for the family, they can still show that a child with special needs can

live a normal and happy life. This study finds out that it all boils down to how firm these

relationships are no matter how difficult things may become most especially when taking

care of a child with special needs. It all relies on consistent communication between

parents to make sure their child is well-supported and is living a balanced life. With that,

researcher have suggested a parent development program through a seminar that aims

to give strategies and ways on how to improve the union and child-rearing especially in

conflict and pressures management.Hence the results of the study have an important

implication for parents of children with special needs,authorities and educators.
