Dear Parents/Guardians,
Please find below important information for the Year 11 & 12 Booklists for 2019.
Purchasing second hand is a great way to save money on booklist items and a good place to
start is via the ‘Sustainable School Shop’ which offer an online option for families which can
be accessed by visiting www.sustainableschools.com.au
Facebook is also a great way to source second hand school supplies. A popular group for
local supplies is Ballarat 2nd Hand School Supplies. Please ensure you check the College’s
Uniform guidelines and book requirements before you purchase anything privately to ensure
you receive the correct items.
Students are to retain their Combination Locks until Year 12. If you require a new lock, these
can be purchased from the College Office at a replacement cost of $14.
Students are required to purchase all the subject and elective requirements for their allocated
subjects. Students have received their allocated elective subjects for 2019. Please only select
requirements relevant to your electives from that letter.
Damascus College has been able to source some texts and essential equipment below the
recommended retail price. Due to these offers, some requirements will not appear on the
Ballarat Books Booklist. You will receive order forms in the Early Start Program classes
regarding these products.
English 1 & 2 • Please make sure you purchase the Methuen Edition [Bloomsbury]
of ‘The Crucible’
• The ‘Oxford Dictionary 8th Edition’ MUST be purchased. This
Dictionary will be used from Years 7-12.
• ‘Insight English Year 11 (2nd Edition) textbook Previous editions
are acceptable.
History- 20th • ‘Analysing 20th Century History Units 1 & 2 – Textbook Inc.
Century Digital – can be purchased second hand.
Legal Studies • ‘Access & Justice CVCE Legal Studies Units 1 & 2 Student
Book + Obook Assess (13th Edition)’ – can be purchased second
hand
LANGUAGES • Please bring your stereo headphones to each language subject.
VCAL
Healthy Living • Please retain your container from Year 10. No home brought
containers will be accepted due to storage constraints.
• Please see your VET Cluster teacher at the beginning of the year
VET for requirements.
• You will be given a letter for purchasing of this text book through
Cert II in Building the school. This text will be delivered directly to the school in Term
and Construction 1, 2019.
English Language • If you have ordered the English novels on the separate
Early Start Program Booklist, please do not order on this
list.
‘Insight English Language for Senior Students – A Guide to
Metalanguage’ – Please retain from Year 11.
MATHEMATICS: • Each student must choose the correct ‘Cambridge Digital
Further, Methods Access Card’ which corresponds with the maths subject they

HEALTH • ‘Cambridge VCE Health and Human Development Units 3 &
Health and Human 4 (3rd Edition) Text including Digital’- You can purchase this
Development secondhand.
History –
Revolutions
• ‘Analysing the Russian Revolution (3rd Edition)’ Can be
purchased second hand.
Russia
Legal Studies • ‘Justice and Outcomes VCE Legal Studies Units 3 & 4’ Can
be purchased second hand.
LANGUAGES • Please bring your Stereo Earphones to each Language class.
French • ‘Bascherelle’ and ‘Collins Robert Concise French
Dictionary’ texts should all be retained from Year 10 until Year
12.
‘Points de Vue’- Retain from Year 11.
SCIENCE • No workbooks are to be purchased secondhand.
• If purchasing a secondhand text, students must purchase the
‘EB Reactivation Code’ listed on the Ballarat Books booklist.
This will allow the student access to all the digital material that
accompanies the textbook.
• ‘VCE Science Units – Checkpoints’- This is an optional
purchase for VCE Science units but are highly recommended
and second-hand copies from 2017/2018 editions are suitable.
TECHNOLOGY
Systems • You will be given the Systems letter for purchasing of the text
Engineering book through the school in the Early Start Program classes.
This text will be delivered directly to the school in Term 1, 2019.
Product Design & • ‘Nelson Product and Design & Technology VCE Units 1-4
Technology Student Book’ – Can be purchased secondhand. Please retain
from Year 11
• Do not purchase workbook secondhand.
• Safety Glasses must be new.
Each year level has a different code, therefore it is important you have the correct code for
the correct year. All subjects for Year 10, 11 & 12 are all in the one senior booklist. If you are
doing any VCE subject, please select your Year Level subjects and/or the VCE subjects.
Once your order is filled, you will receive a notification via post that it is ready for collection
from Ballarat Books. The Collection Centre is now located at 5 Yarrowee Street, Sebastopol.
We understand some parents do not have access to the internet or may be experiencing
computer or internet disruptions. If you are having difficulties ordering online, please contact
