My Personal Statement
To overcome anxiety in learning English as a foreign language, how can the people in
this educational community develop a way to teach in a new way?
I am currently in the first year of a degree in English education department. I took it
because of my great passion in teaching English. I became interested in it after realising how
much I had the benefited from excellent and passionate English teachers. They exuded a real
sense of enthusiasm, creativity and warmth for learning wich inspires me to pass on that way.
This is also one of my plan for being able in developing new teaching experience to lower an
anxiety in learning English.
During my university life I consider how important difference between understanding
how a language works and learning how to use it. In this respect, I believe that a teacher`s effort
should not be directed at informing a student about a language, but at enabling them to use it. In
order to pursue it, we have to change an old-fashioned methods of teaching and implemented the
contemporary way to put in the classroom. This establish myself to study more about an
academic skill wich are fundamentally important as a teacher.
While enjoying in learning English, I saw the skills needed to be a great teacher one of
wich is public speaking and leadership skill. My own publick speaking skill has developed over a
year in the university, from a presentations or socialize in a organization. Whereas my leadership
skill has increased by going to lead a small group in discussion. This has given me confidence to
joined I a speech competition and other activity that transformed myself into professional
teacher. However, it was also supported me to be able and take responsibility for running
activities in the classroom, balancing the situation and managing behavior issues.
In order to support my professional development, I was decided to gained some
experience in English club. It taught me in analyzed a difference process of individual in
learning English. Therefor an English teacher must be proficient at using their new style of
teaching. The old-fashioned rules was extremely wasteful, ineffiecient and cannot expanded a
student language ability. I promote a fun learning methods wich I obtained from English club
activity. I believe learning language was not only restricted in translation and grammar-rule but
also enabled them to become a skilled performer. In suistanable practices they could be
conveyed every single thought in public.
I considered my future plan is to professionally teaching English in local or abroad by
implemented my academic skills. It is possible because I have acquired valuable skills and
experiences wich can contribute significantly to teaching it in a better way. In addition, I also
would like to nurturing and mastering my teaching ability by taking a master degree or gained
some experience in a volunteer work wich provided my sense of being a teacher and relevant
into my profession as a new generation English teacher.
