HP 2600/2605 Fuser and ETB Installation Instructions

1 ETB Assembly – RM1-1885 (HP 2600)
1 ETB Assembly – RM1-1891 (HP 2605 Simplex)
1 ETB Assembly – RM1-1892 (HP 2605 Duplex)

CAUTION: Fuser may be hot. Turn off printer, unplug it and allow it to sit for 20
to 30 minutes before performing these maintenance procedures.

NOTE: For the installation of the fuser in the HP 2605 skip step number 5,
to access the 4 screws to remove upper cover, lift open upper face cover

Fusing Assembly Removal and Replacement

1. Remove delivery tray


2. Remove two screws from right side cover

3. Carefully disengage the catches on the front part of the right side cover, remove cover
4. Unplug control ribbon cable
5. Insert a small screwdriver to loosen the release tab on each side of the upper face cover and remove
cover

6. Remove four screws from upper cover, lift and remove


7. Remove the output tray by releasing two tabs

8. Unplug one connector from fuser motor

9. Open two cable harness restraint (callout 3) and remove one cable harness restraint (callout 4)

10. Unplug two three pin optical encoder wires

11. Unplug the red high volt bias wire

12. Remove thermistor wire

13. Remove wiring harness


14. Remove three screws from fuser chassis (callout 5)

15. Gently rocking if necessary, roll the fuser forward to remove

16. REPLACING THE FUSER align the fuser tabs with there respective holes

17. Reverse steps to complete install

Replacement of transfer belt ETB


1. Pull out and remove tray two
2. Remove two screws from right side cover (callout 1)

3. Remove one screw from left side cover

4. Open front door, remove right cover by care fully twisting the front edges of the cover outward (to
make right cover removal easier, release the tab on the inside of the cover)

5. Remove left cover by releasing the tab on the lower front corner, pull out from bottom and then away
6. Squeeze the white link lever on left side to release

7. Remove the screw from the right white plastic catch, then remove plastic catch

8. Close the ETB, but leave front door open


9. Remove small black cable cover on the left side of printer by carefully snapping it out of place
10. Remove one grounding screw from ETB harness

11. Pull out white wire holder by pushing it up

12. Remove the ETB wire connector

13. Remove one screw from each hinge cam on the left and right sides
14. Using a needle nose pliers remove the hinge cam on both left and right sides

15. Remove ETB


16. When reinstalling the new ETB align each foot of the ETB with there respective holes, secure right
side of the ETB first and then the left side

17. To finish reinstallation of ETB reverse steps 1 through 14
