Eleven years ago, the idea of going to boston didn’t appeal to me at first, but Raven persuaded

me to go after Damon messed things up. “Where there‘s chaos there’s opportunity” he said, and
how could I argue with that. He also said he had a friend he wanted me to meet.

Let me tell you a bit about me before I continue, to give a bit of reference for all the readers out
there. I was born Dan Walden, in a family of corporate wage slaves wasting every minute of
their lives working or zonked out on BTLs. By the time I was a teenager, I couldn’t watch my
parents act like this anymore, and made my way into the shadows. I didn’t abandon them
forever, and often toss them a few nuyens if I have some to spare, mostly for Stan my younger
brother.

One of the first lessons you learn on the street is that those with guns have power, and I liked
the idea of having power. Unfortunately for me, my skills with pistols, rifles, and even shot guns
were drek. I quickly changed my mind, and decided I didn’t need power, I just needed to stay
out of the way of those who did have power. I’d skirt around the streets, picking up the leftovers
after heat waves and gang conflicts. Sometimes these events were too spaced out for my
needs, so with a few words here and there, or some conveniently placed evidence pointing
towards a specific group, I was able to get things going again.

It’s around this time that Raven managed to find me. Raven liked what I was doing, but said I
was capable of more in life. That these petty gang leftovers were nothing compared to what I
deserved. Raven was also rather blunt in explaining that if I wanted more, I’d have to get
stronger. Luckily, Raven knew a guy.

Raven took me to the outskirts of Boston, filled with what I call a concrete jungle. Weeds and
vine wrapped around collapsed buildings, blending the two worlds together. Around the
perimeter stood four immaculately carved statues of a bird, a shark, a wolf, and a bear. It was at
this point Raven flew inside the winged monument, leaving me stranded in unknown territory. I
wandered past the statues, and eventually came across an old hermit.

Long story short, the old hermit taught me the ways of beast, and awoken something inside of
me. He showed me how to become attuned to nature, and how to call upon my spirit, Raven. He
never gave me his name, so I took to calling him Papa Bear, on account of his connection with
the bear statue. His rough training took ten years, and I still consider it incomplete to this day,
but I knew it was time to move on for now. With a promise to return when I needed more
strength I took off towards inner Boston.

Upon returning back to town, I realized I had nothing with me, just the clothes on my back, and
my new found tattoo Papa Bear called a Qi Focus. Reverting back to my old mindset, I quickly
found the stash of a local mechanic. I thought everything went smoothly, until a couple thugs
found me the next day and brought me back to the mechanics stash. I thought for sure I was
done for, but he was actually quite impressed by my abilities and wanted to work with me.
Turned out his name was Emanuel Herdenez, and he’s a fixer for the O’Rilleys. He’d get me
jobs like retrieving tech from competitors like the Muldoons, or stealing weapon shipments, and
in return he got paid from the finder’s fee. While I wouldn’t describe our relationship as a couple
of friends, we came to mutually respect each other as we climbed the ranks in stealth based
missions.

Raven rejoined me after I left the old man, and seems to enjoy watching me do my thing.
Sometimes he’ll give me suggestions that are too good to pass up in the moment, though in
hindsight caused me more trouble than they were worth. I feel like some of these suggestions
are what’s keeping Emanuel and I from getting closer. Emanuel knows I’m good at what I do,
but feels disrespected I play tricks on the guards during important missions.

For now I’ve been lying low, looking for some more runners to work with. Emanuel hinted to me
that he’d have some big missions for me if I could find a bigger team, and I’m hyped to start
playing in the big leagues.
