Guiding Questions for OLTD e-Portfolio Reflections

Please follow this format to craft your reflections. (Remove the numerical
references so your reflection reads as an narrative.

1. What is the specific evidence you have chosen? Provide one or two sentences describing the
evidence piece.

2. What did you learn/experience by creating the evidence file relative to the specific OLTD
Program Outcome? Provide three or four sentences detailing this experience.

3. What does the OLTD Program Outcome mean to you as an online educator/facilitator? Why
is it important/meaningful to your practice? Provide three or four sentences explaining the
importance of this teaching competency.

1. Caption and description for selected evidence:

 What is the chosen evidence? Be sure to caption it sufficiently to let the viewer
know specifically what they are looking at. Detail when it was created. Which course
or learning experience does it relate to?

2. Context of evidence in relation to the prescribed OLTD Program Learning


Outcome:

 What concepts, content, vocabulary, techniques, methods, etc. did you learn as a
result of creating or implementing this evidence piece?
 How does the evidence relate to improving knowledge, improving skills and/or
improving attitudes about your teaching and learning online?
 How has the evidence impacted your knowledge and insights and/or beliefs about
your teaching and learning online?
 Does the evidence address a specific learning theory or approach to teaching and
learning online?
 Does the evidence address a specific learning style(s)?
 What are the strengths of your chosen evidence?

3. Context of Outcome in relation to your practice. Why is the OLTD Learning


Outcome important to you as an effective online teacher/facilitator?

 Remove yourself from discussing your evidence selection and speak to the chosen
outcome
 Describe why this aspect of your learning is important in an instructional context
 How might you implement the outcome into your own practice as an online
educator/facilitator?

 Is your reflection written clearly and succinctly?


 Have you clearly addressed the 3 Guiding Questions in sufficient details to qualify
your choice of evidence as a suitable match to the outcome?
 Are spelling and grammar correct?
 Does your reflection include accurate educational terms?
 Have your cited your sources if required?
 Is each reflection crafted in the same format?
 Does it read as a narrative?

File Format:

 Have your evidence files and reflective statements been converted to .pdf format?
 Have media files been saved in a universal format rather than a proprietal, native
format?
 Are external hyperlinks functional?
 Have you saved backup copies of your files and reflective statements to your course
folder on your hard drive or local storage device?
