‫‪The following is a summarization of the the excellent book The Milestones of the Call‬‬

‫‪of Ahlus-Sunnah written by Abu Bakr Abdur-razzaq an-Nihmi. The book is invaluable‬‬
‫‪in explaining the da’wah of Ahlus-Sunnah and the distinguishing signs of its‬‬

‫‪methodology. To help bring forth this work to the English speaking brothers and‬‬

‫‪sisters, I have gathered all the milestones the Shaikh mentioned alongside one or‬‬

‫‪two evidences the Shaikh used. As well, I have attached some beneficial statements‬‬

‫‪from the Salaf and Scholars that the Shaikh mentioned under each milestone.‬‬

Introduction by Shaikh Yahya ibn Ali al-Hajoori hafidhuhallah

All praise is due to Allah, we praise him, we seek his aid, and his forgiveness. I bear

witness there is no God worthy of worship except Allah alone without a partner and I

bear witness that Muhammad is his slave and Messenger.

As for what follows:

I read the treatise Milestones in the Call of Ahlus-Sunnah of our brother, the virtuous

Shaikh, the chaste Salafi Abu Bakr Abdur-razzaq an-Nihmi hafidhuhallah. So I found

it a beneficial treatise in the clarification of the explanation of the Salafi call. A

beneficial explanation. Everything of what Shaikh Abu Bakr hafidhuhallah mentioned

about the Salafi call in this abridged treatise has no dispute in it. So may Allah

reward him with good and benefit the Muslims by his dawah, his absence of doubts,

his humbleness, and his good character.

Milestone no. 1:

‫ﺍﷲ‬ ‫ﺭﺳﻮﻝ‬ ‫ﺍﻟﻰ‬ ‫ﻧﺴﺒﺔ‬ ‫ﺍﻟﺴﻨﺔ‬ ‫ﺍﻫﻞ‬ ‫ﺩﻋﻮﺓ‬

The Call of Ahlus-Sunnah is Ascribed to the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah

The Prophet said: from the Hadith of al-’Irbaad ibn as-Saariyah radiallahu anhu:

 ‫ِﺑ ُﺴﱠﻨﺘِﻲ‬ ‫َﻓ َﻌَﻠ ْﻴ ُﻜ ْﻢ‬

So you must keep to my Sunnah

[Reported by Sunan Abu Dawood no. 4607 and Graded Saheeh by Al-Albani in

The Prophet said: from the Hadith of Abdullah ibn ‘Amr al-’As radiallahu
anhumma:

 ‫ﻏﻴﺮ‬ ‫ﺇﻟﻰ‬

‫ﻓ ْﺘ َﺮُﺗ ُﻪ‬ ‫ﻛﺎﻧﺖ‬ ‫ﻭﻣﻦ‬ ،‫ﺍﻫﺘﺪﻯ‬ ‫ﻓﻘﺪ‬ ،‫ِﻲ‬ ‫ﺳﱠﻨﺘ‬ ‫ﺇﻟﻰ‬

‫ﻓ ْﺘ َﺮُﺗ ُﻪ‬ ‫ﻛﺎﻧﺖ‬ ‫ﻓﻤﻦ‬ ، َ ‫ﺷ ﱠﺮﺓ‬

And indeed for every action there is zeal and for every zeal there is a period of

slackening. So whoever’s slackening is towards my Sunnah, he is guided. Whoever’s

slackening is to other than that is destroyed

The Call of Ahlus-Sunnah is: the Call of the Messenger of Allah

Allah says:

َ ‫َﻳ ْﺘُﻠﻮ ْﺍ‬ ‫ﺃﻧ ُﻔ ِﺴ ِﻬ ْﻢ‬ َ ‫ﻣ ْﻦ‬  ُ‫ﻣ ﱠﻦ ﱠ‬ 

 ‫ِﻪ‬ َ ‫ﻋَﻠ ْﻴ ِﻬ ْﻢ‬ 
ِ ‫ءﺍَﻳـﺘ‬  ‫ﺭ ُﺳﻮ ًﻻ ﱢ‬  ِ ‫ﻓ‬ ‫َﺑ َﻌ َﺚ‬ ‫ﺇ ْﺫ‬ ِ ‫ِﻴﻦ‬

Indeed Allah conferred a great favour on the believers when He sent among them a
Messenger (Muhammad) from among themselves, reciting unto them His Verses (the
Quran), and purifying them (from sins by their following him), and instructing them
(in) the Book (the Quran) and Al-Hikmah [the wisdom and the Sunnah of the Prophet
(i.e. his legal ways, statements, acts of worship, etc.)], while before that they had
been in manifest error.

Allah says:

 ‫ﺣ َﺮﺟًﺎ‬  َ ‫ﻓ‬ ‫َﻳ ِﺠُﺪﻭ ْﺍ‬ ‫ َﻻ‬ ‫ﺛ ﱠﻢ‬ ُ ‫َﺑ ْﻴَﻨ ُﻬ ْﻢ‬ ‫ﺷ َﺠ َﺮ‬ ‫ﺎ‬
َ ‫ﺃﻧ ُﻔ ِﺴ ِﻬ ْﻢ‬ ‫ِﻰ‬ َ ‫ِﻴﻤ‬
َ ‫ﻓ‬ ‫ﻮﻙ‬ َ ‫ُﻳ َﺤ ﱢﻜ ُﻤ‬ ‫ﺣﱠﺘﻰ‬  َ ‫َﻓ َﻼ‬

But no, by your Lord, they can have no Faith, until they make you (O Muhammad)
judge in all disputes between them, and find in themselves no resistance against
your decisions, and accept (them) with full submission.

Jabir Ibn Abdillah radiallahu anhumma said:

َ ‫ِﻤ ٌﺔ‬َ ‫َﻧﺎﺋ‬ ‫ﺍْﻟ َﻌ ْﻴ َﻦ‬ ‫ﺇ ﱠﻥ‬ ِ ‫َﺑ ْﻌ ُﻀ ُﻬ ْﻢ‬ ‫ﺎﻝ‬َ ‫ﻭَﻗ‬

 ‫ﻭ ُﻣ َﺤ ﱠﻤٌﺪ‬ ، َ‫ﻋ َﺼ ﱠ‬ 
َ ‫ﺍﷲ‬ ‫ﻰ‬ َ
َ ‫ﻓ َﻘ ْﺪ‬ ‫ﻭﺳﻠﻢ‬ ‫ﻋﻠﻴﻪ‬ ‫ﺍﷲ‬ ‫ﺻﻠﻰ‬ ‫ﺍ‬ ‫ﻣ َﺤ ﱠﻤًﺪ‬ ‫ﻰ‬
ُ ‫ﻋ َﺼ‬  َ ‫ﻭ َﻣ ْﻦ‬ ، َ ‫ﺍﷲ‬ َ‫ﺎﻉ ﱠ‬ َ ‫ﺃ َﻃ‬ َ ‫ﻓ َﻘ ْﺪ‬ ‫ﻭﺳﻠﻢ‬

 ‫ﺎﺱ‬ َ
ِ ‫ﺍﻟﱠﻨ‬ ‫َﺑ ْﻴ َﻦ‬ ‫ﻓ ْﺮ ٌﻕ‬ ‫ﻭﺳﻠﻢ‬ ‫ﻋﻠﻴﻪ‬ ‫ﺍﷲ‬ ‫ﺻﻠﻰ‬
Some angels came to the Prophet (‫ )ﷺ‬while he was sleeping. Some of them said,
"He is sleeping." Others said, "His eyes are sleeping but his heart is awake." Then
they said, "There is an example for this companion of yours." One of them said, "Then
set forth an example for him." Some of them said, "He is sleeping." The others said,
"His eyes are sleeping but his heart is awake." Then they said, "His example is that of
a man who has built a house and then offered therein a banquet and sent an inviter
(messenger) to invite the people. So whoever accepted the invitation of the inviter,
entered the house and ate of the banquet, and whoever did not accept the invitation
of the inviter, did not enter the house, nor did he eat of the banquet." Then the
angels said, "Interpret this example to him so that he may understand it." Some of

them said, "He is sleeping.'' The others said, "His eyes are sleeping but his heart is
awake." And then they said, "The houses stands for Paradise and the call maker is
Muhammad; and whoever obeys Muhammad, obeys Allah; and whoever disobeys
Muhammad, disobeys Allah. Muhammad separated the people (i.e., through his
message, the good is distinguished from the bad, and the believers from the
disbelievers).

Milestone no. 5:

 ‫ﺍﻟﺼﺤﻴﺤﺔ‬ ‫ﺑﺎﻟﻌﻘﻴﺪﺓ‬ ‫ﺗﻬﺘﻢ‬ ‫ﻭﻫﻲ‬
It is Concerned with the Authentic Creed

Allah says:

ِ ‫ﻭَﻟَﺘ ُﻜﻮَﻧ ﱠﻦ‬ 

 ‫ﻣ َﻦ‬  َ ‫َﻟَﻴ ْﺤَﺒ َﻄ ﱠﻦ‬ ‫ﺃ ْﺷ َﺮ ْﻛ َﺖ‬ َ ‫ِﻦ‬
َ ‫ﻋ َﻤُﻠ َﻚ‬  ْ ‫َﻟﺌ‬ ‫ِﻚ‬ َ ‫ﻣ‬ 
َ ‫ﻗ ْﺒﻠ‬ ‫ﻦ‬ َ ‫ﺇَﻟ ْﻴ َﻚ‬ ِ ‫ﺃ ْﻭ ِﺣ َﻰ‬ ُ ‫َﻟ َﻘ ْﺪ‬
َ ‫ﺍﱠﻟِﺬ‬ ‫ﻭِﺇَﻟﻰ‬ 
ِ ‫ﻳﻦ‬
 ‫ﻳﻦ‬ ‫ﻣ َﻦ ﱠ‬ ‫ﻦ‬
َ ‫ﺍﻟﺸ ِـﻜ ِﺮ‬  ‫ﻭ ُﻛ ﱢ‬  َ ‫ﺎﻋُﺒ ْﺪ‬ َ‫َﺑ ِﻞ ﱠ‬ ­ ‫ﻳﻦ‬
ْ ‫ﻓ‬ َ ‫ﺍﷲ‬  ِ ‫ﺍْﻟ َﺨ‬
َ ‫ـﺴ ِﺮ‬
And indeed it has been revealed to you (O Muhammad), as it was to those (Allah's
Messengers) before you: "If you join others in worship with Allah, (then) surely (all)
your deeds will be in vain, and you will certainly be among the losers."

[39:65]

Allah says:

 ‫ﺎﺭ‬ َ ‫ﺃ‬ َ ‫ﻣ ْﻦ‬  َ ‫ِﻤ‬ ‫ﻟ ﱠ‬ ‫ﻭ َﻣﺎ‬  ُ ‫ﺍﻟﱠﻨ‬ ‫ﻭ َﻣْﺄ َﻭﺍ ُﻩ‬ 
َ ‫ﺍْﻟ َﺠﱠﻨ َﺔ‬ ‫ﻴﻪ‬
ِ ‫ﻋَﻠ‬  ُ‫ﺣ ﱠﺮ َﻡ ﱠ‬  َ ‫ﺎﷲ‬
َ ‫ﻓ َﻘ ْﺪ‬ ِ ‫ﺑ ﱠ‬ ‫ُﻳ ْﺸﺮ ْﻙ‬ ‫ﻣﻦ‬ 
َ ‫ِﺇﱠﻧ ُﻪ‬
ٍ ‫ﻧﺼ‬ ِ ‫ﻴﻦ‬ ِ ‫ِﻠﻈـﻠ‬ َ ‫ﺎﺭ‬ َ ‫ﺍﷲ‬  ِ ِ

O Children of Israel! Worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord." Verily, whosoever sets up
partners in worship with Allah, then Allah has forbidden Paradise for him, and the
Fire will be his abode. And for the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers) there are
no helpers

[5:72]

Ibn Abbas radiallahu anhumma said:

َ‫ُﻳ َﻮ ﱢﺣُﺪ ﱠ‬ ‫ﺃ ْﻥ‬ ‫ﻰ‬ َ ‫ﺇَﻟ‬ ‫ﻮﻫ ْﻢ‬ َ ‫ﺃ ﱠﻭ َﻝ‬ َ ‫ﻓْﻠَﻴ ُﻜ ْﻦ‬ َ ‫ﺎﺏ‬
 ‫َﺗ َﻌﺎَﻟﻰ‬ ‫ﺍﷲ‬ ‫ﻭﺍ‬ ِ ُ ‫َﺗ ْﺪ ُﻋ‬ ‫ﻣﺎ‬  ِ ‫ﺍْﻟ ِﻜَﺘ‬ ‫ﺃ ْﻫ ِﻞ‬ َ ‫ﻣ ْﻦ‬  َ ‫ﻋَﻠ‬ 
ِ ‫ﻗ ْﻮ ٍﻡ‬ ‫ﻰ‬ َ ‫َﺗ ْﻘَﺪُﻡ‬ ‫ِﺇﱠﻧ َﻚ‬

َ ‫ﻓُﺘ َﺮﱡﺩ‬ َ ‫ﻏِﻨﱢﻴ ِﻬ ْﻢ‬  ِ ‫ُﺗ ْﺆ َﺧُﺬ‬ ‫ِﻬ ْﻢ‬ َ ْ ‫ﺍﷲ‬  َ‫ﺃ ﱠﻥ ﱠ‬ َ ‫ﻓَﺄ ْﺧﺒ ْﺮ ُﻫ ْﻢ‬ ‫ﻮﺍ‬
 ‫ﻋَﻠﻰ‬  َ ‫ﻣ ْﻦ‬  ِ ‫ﺃ ْﻣ َﻮﺍﻟ‬ ‫ﻓِﻲ‬ ‫ﺯ َﻛﺎ ًﺓ‬  َ ‫ﻋَﻠ ْﻴ ِﻬ ْﻢ‬ َ ‫ﺽ‬ َ ‫ﺍﻓَﺘ َﺮ‬  ِ َ ‫َﺻﱡﻠ‬
 ‫ﺎﺱ‬ِ ‫ﺍﻟﱠﻨ‬ ‫ﺍﻝ‬ ِ ‫ﺃ ْﻣ َﻮ‬ َ ‫ﻛ َﺮﺍﺋ َِﻢ‬ 
َ ‫ﻭَﺗ َﻮ ﱠﻕ‬  ِ ‫ﻓ ُﺨ ْﺬ‬ َ ‫ِﻚ‬
َ ‫ﻣ ْﻨ ُﻬ ْﻢ‬  َ ‫ﻓﺈَﺫ‬ ،
َ ‫ِﺑَﺬﻟ‬ ‫ﺃَﻗ ﱡﺮﻭﺍ‬ ‫ﺍ‬ ِ َ ‫ِﻴﺮ ِﻫ ْﻢ‬
ِ ‫َﻓﻘ‬
When the Prophet (‫ )ﷺ‬sent Mu`adh to Yemen, he said to him, "You are going to a
nation from the people of the Scripture, so let the first thing to which you will invite
them, be the Tauhid of Allah. If they learn that, tell them that Allah has enjoined on
them, five prayers to be offered in one day and one night. And if they pray, tell them
that Allah has enjoined on them Zakat of their properties and it is to be taken from
the rich among them and given to the poor. And if they agree to that, then take from
them Zakat but avoid the best property of the people."

َ ‫َﺗ ْﻌ َﻤُﻠ‬ ‫ِﺑ َﻤﺎ‬ ‫ﺍﷲ‬
َ ‫ﻮﻥ‬ ٍ ‫ﺩ َﺭ َﺟ‬ َ ‫ﺍْﻟ ِﻌْﻠ َﻢ‬ ‫ﺃﻭُﺗﻮ ْﺍ‬ ُ ‫ﻳﻦ‬
َ ‫ـﺖ‬ َ ‫ﻭﺍﱠﻟِﺬ‬  ُ ‫ﻣ‬ 
َ ‫ﻨﻜ ْﻢ‬ ِ ‫ﺍﻣُﻨﻮ ْﺍ‬
َ ‫ء‬ 
َ ‫ﻳﻦ‬ ُ‫َﻳ ْﺮَﻓﻊ ﱠ‬
َ ‫ﺍﱠﻟِﺬ‬ ‫ﺍﷲ‬  ِ
Allah will exalt in degree those of you who believe, and those who have been granted
knowledge. And Allah is Well-Acquainted with what you do

[58:11]

Allah says:

 ‫ﻋْﻠﻤًﺎ‬ ‫ِﻰ‬
ِ ‫ﺯ ْﺩﻧ‬  ‫َﻭُﻗ ﱠ‬
ِ ‫ﺭ ﱢﺏ‬ ‫ﻞ‬
and say: "My Lord! Increase me in knowledge."

[20:114]

Mu’awiyyah radiallahu anhu said that the Prophet said :

ُ‫َﺍ ﱠ‬ ‫ُﻳﺮِﺩ‬ ‫َﻣ ْﻦ‬

ِ ‫َﺍ ﱢﻟﺪ‬ ‫ﻓِﻲ‬ ‫ُﻳ َﻔ ﱢﻘ ْﻬ ُﻪ‬ ,‫ﺧ ْﻴ ًﺮﺍ‬ 
 ‫ﻳﻦ‬ َ ‫ِﺑ ِﻪ‬ ‫ﷲ‬ ِ
When Allah wishes good for anyone, He bestows upon him the Fiqh (comprehension)
of the religion.

[Reported by al-Bukhari no. 71 and Muslim no. 1038]

Our Shaikh al-Waadi’ee rahimahullah said: “The chairs [i.e. of the government] are
not equal to camel feces in my sight ”

The Call of Ahlus-Sunnah connects People to Allah and Does not Connect them to the
Worldly Life

Allah says:

ُ ‫َﺗ َﺸ‬ ‫ﻣﻦ‬ 
 ‫ﺂء‬ َ ‫ﻭُﺗ ِﻌ ﱡﺰ‬ 
َ ‫ﺂء‬ُ ‫َﺗ َﺸ‬ ‫ﻣ ﱠﻤﻦ‬  ِ ‫ﺍْﻟ ُﻤْﻠ َﻚ‬ ‫ﻨﺰ ُﻉ‬ِ ‫ﻭَﺗ‬  ُ ‫َﺗ َﺸ‬ ‫ﻣﻦ‬ 
َ ‫ﺂء‬ َ ‫ﺍْﻟ ُﻤْﻠ َﻚ‬ ‫ُﺗ ْﺆﺗِﻰ‬ ‫ﺍْﻟ ُﻤْﻠ ِﻚ‬ ‫ِﻚ‬ َ ‫ﻣـﻠ‬  َ ‫ﺍﻟﱠﻠ ُﻬ ﱠﻢ‬ ‫ُﻗ ِﻞ‬
ُ ‫ﻭُﺗﻮﻟ‬ 
 ‫ِﺞ‬ ِ ‫ﺍْﻟﱠﻨ َﻬ‬ ‫ﻓِﻰ‬ ‫ﺍﱠﻟ ْﻴ َﻞ‬ ‫ِﺞ‬
َ ‫ﺎﺭ‬ ُ ‫ُﺗﻮﻟ‬ ­ ‫ﻳﺮ‬ ٌ ‫ﻗِﺪ‬ َ ‫ﺷ ْﻰ ٍء‬ 
َ ‫ﻛ ﱢﻞ‬ ‫ﻰ‬
ُ ‫ﻋَﻠ‬  َ ‫ﺇﱠﻧ َﻚ‬ ِ ‫ﺍْﻟ َﺨ ْﻴ ُﺮ‬ ‫ِﺑَﻴِﺪ َﻙ‬ ‫ﺂء‬
ُ ‫َﺗ َﺸ‬ ‫ﻣﻦ‬  َ ‫َﻭُﺗِﺬ ﱡﻝ‬
ُ ‫َﺗ َﺸ‬ ‫ﻣﻦ‬ 
 ‫ﺂء‬ َ ‫ﺍْﻟ َﺤ ﱢﻰ‬ ‫ﻣ َﻦ‬ 
َ ‫ﻭَﺗ ْﺮ ُﺯ ُﻕ‬  ِ ‫ﺍَﻟ َﻤﱢﻴ َﺖ‬ ‫ﻭُﺗ ْﺨ ِﺮ ُﺝ‬ 
َ ‫ﺍْﻟ َﻤﱢﻴ ِﺖ‬ ‫ﻣ َﻦ‬ 
ِ ‫ﺍْﻟ َﺤ ﱠﻰ‬ ‫ﻭُﺗ ْﺨ ِﺮ ُﺝ‬  َ ‫ﺍﱠﻟ ْﻴ ِﻞ‬ ‫ﻓِﻰ‬ ‫ﺎﺭ‬ َ ‫ﺍﻟﱠﻨ َﻬ‬
 ‫ﺎﺏ‬ ٍ ‫ﺣ َﺴ‬ ِ ‫ِﺑ َﻐ ْﻴ ِﺮ‬
Say (O Muhammad): "O Allah! Possessor of the kingdom, You give the kingdom to
whom You will, and You take the kingdom from whom You will, and You endue with
honour whom You will, and You humiliate whom You will. In Your Hand is the good.
Verily, You are Able to do all things. You make the night to enter into the day, and
You make the day to enter into the night (i.e. increase and decrease in the hours of
the night and the day during winter and summer), You bring the living out of the
dead, and You bring the dead out of the living. And You give wealth and sustenance
to whom You will, without limit (measure or account).

[3:26-27]

The Prophet said to the woman who complained to him that she has epilepsy:

َ .‫ﺮ‬ ُ ‫ﺃ ْﺻِﺒ‬ َ ‫ﻓ َﻘﺎَﻟ ْﺖ‬  

 ‫ﻓ َﻘﺎَﻟ ْﺖ‬   َ‫ﺩ َﻋ ْﻮ ُﺕ ﱠ‬ َ ‫ﺷ ْﺌ ِﺖ‬ 
َ . " ‫ُﻳ َﻌﺎِﻓَﻴ ِﻚ‬ ‫ﺃ ْﻥ‬ َ ‫ﺍﷲ‬  َ ‫ﺍْﻟ َﺠﱠﻨ ُﺔ‬ ‫ﻭَﻟ ِﻚ‬ 
ِ ‫ﻭِﺇ ْﻥ‬  َ ‫ﺷ ْﺌ ِﺖ‬ 
َ ‫ﺻَﺒ ْﺮ ِﺕ‬  ِ ‫ِﺇ ْﻥ‬
 ‫َﻟ َﻬﺎ‬ ‫ﻓَﺪ َﻋﺎ‬ ، َ‫ﻓ ْﺎﺩ ُﻉ ﱠ‬ َ ‫ﺃَﺗ َﻜ ﱠﺸ ُﻒ‬ ‫ﻲ‬
َ ‫ﺃَﺗ َﻜ ﱠﺸ َﻒ‬ َ ‫ َﻻ‬ ‫ﺃ ْﻥ‬ َ ‫ﺍﷲ‬  َ ‫ﺇﱢﻧ‬
ِ

'If you wish, be patient and you will have (enter) Paradise; and if you wish, I will
invoke Allah to cure you.' She said, 'I will remain patient,' and added, 'but I become
uncovered, so please invoke Allah for me that I may not become uncovered.' So he
invoked Allah for her."

Milestone no. 8:

 ‫ﻟﻠﻤﺠﺘﻤﻊ‬ ‫ﺍﺻﻼﺡ‬ ‫ﺍﻟﺴﻨﺔ‬ ‫ﺍﻫﻞ‬ ‫ﺩﻋﻮﺓ‬
The Call of Ahlus-Sunnah is Reformation for the Society

Allah says:

 ‫ﻭﺍْﻟَﻴَﺘ َـﻤﻰ‬ ‫ﻰ‬
َ ‫ﺍْﻟ ُﻘ ْﺮَﺑ‬ ‫ﻭِﺑِﺬﻯ‬ 
َ ‫ﺇ ْﺣ َﺴـﻨًﺎ‬ ِ ‫ﻭِﺑﺎْﻟ َﻮﻟَِﺪ ْﻳ ِﻦ‬  َ ‫ِﺑ ِﻪ‬ ‫ُﺗ ْﺸ ِﺮ ُﻛﻮ ْﺍ‬ ‫ﻭ َﻻ‬ 
َ ‫ﺷ ْﻴﺌًﺎ‬  َ‫ﺍﻋُﺒُﺪﻭ ْﺍ ﱠ‬
َ ‫ﺍﷲ‬  ْ ‫َﻭ‬
 ‫ﻭ َﻣﺎ‬ 
َ ‫ﻴﻞ‬
ِ ‫ﺍﻟﺴِﺒ‬  َ ‫ﺎﻟﺠ ْﻨ ِﺐ‬
‫ﻭﺍ ْﺑ ِﻦ ﱠ‬  َ ‫ِﺑ‬ ‫ـﺤ ِﺐ‬ ِ ‫ﺍﻟﺼ‬
‫ﻭ ﱠ‬  َ ‫ﺍْﻟ ُﺠُﻨ ِﺐ‬ ‫ﺎﺭ‬ ِ ‫ﻭﺍْﻟ َﺠ‬ ‫ﻰ‬
َ ‫ﺍْﻟ ُﻘ ْﺮَﺑ‬ ‫ﺫﻯ‬ ِ ‫ﺎﺭ‬ ِ ‫ﻭﺍْﻟ َﺠ‬  ِ ‫َﻭﺍْﻟ َﻤ َﺴ ِـﻜ‬
َ ‫ﻴﻦ‬
  ‫ﻓ ُﺨﻮﺭًﺍ‬ َ ‫ﻣ ْﺨَﺘﺎ ًﻻ‬  َ ‫ﻣ‬ 
َ ‫ﻛ‬ ‫ﻦ‬
ُ ‫ﺎﻥ‬ َ ‫ُﻳ ِﺤ ﱡﺐ‬ ‫ َﻻ‬ ‫ﺍﷲ‬  َ‫ﺇ ﱠﻥ ﱠ‬ ‫ﺃ ْﻳ َﻤـُﻨ ُﻜ ْﻢ‬ َ ‫َﻣَﻠ َﻜ ْﺖ‬
ِ
Worship Allah and join none with Him in worship, and do good to parents, kinsfolk,
orphans, Al-Masakin (the poor), the neighbour who is near of kin, the neighbour who
is a stranger, the companion by your side, the wayfarer (you meet), and those
(slaves) whom your right hands possess. Verily, Allah does not like such as are proud
and boastful;

[4:36]

In the Hadith of Heraclius, he said to Abu Sufyan: What does he (the Prophet) order
you with? He said:

 ‫ﺎﻟﺼ َﻼ ِﺓ‬ َ ‫ﺎﺅ ُﻛ ْﻢ‬ ُ ‫َﻳ ُﻘ‬ ‫ﻣﺎ‬ ‫ﻮﺍ‬
ُ ‫ﺁَﺑ‬ ‫ﻮﻝ‬ َ ‫ﻭﺍ ْﺗ ُﺮ ُﻛ‬ ،‫ﺎ‬ َ ‫ِﺑ ِﻪ‬ ‫ُﺗ ْﺸ ِﺮ ُﻛﻮﺍ‬ ‫ﻭ َﻻ‬ ،
َ ‫ﺷ ْﻴًﺌ‬  َ ‫ﻭ ْﺣَﺪ ُﻩ‬  َ‫ﺍﻋُﺒُﺪ ﱠ‬
َ ‫ﺍﷲ‬ ‫ﻭﺍ‬ ْ
  . ِ‫ﺍﻟﺼَﻠﺔ‬
‫ﻭ ﱢ‬  ِ ‫ﻭﺍْﻟ َﻌ َﻔ‬ 
َ ‫ﺎﻑ‬ َ ‫ﺍﻟﺼ ْﺪ ِﻕ‬
‫َﻭ ﱢ‬
He tells us to worship Allah and Allah alone and not to worship anything along with
Him, and to renounce all that our ancestors had said. He orders us to pray, to speak
the truth, to be chaste and to keep good relations with our Kith and kin.

The Sunni Caller to Allah Starts with Himself

Allah says:

َ ‫َﺗ ْﻌ ِﻘُﻠ‬ ‫ﺃَﻓ َﻼ‬ َ ‫ـﺐ‬

  ‫ﻮﻥ‬ َ ‫َﺗ ْﺘُﻠ‬ ‫ﻭَﺃﻧُﺘ ْﻢ‬ 
َ ‫ﺍْﻟ ِﻜَﺘ‬ ‫ﻮﻥ‬ َ ‫ﺃﻧ ُﻔ َﺴ ُﻜ ْﻢ‬ َ ‫ﻨﺴ ْﻮ َﻥ‬ َ ‫ِﺑﺎْﻟِﺒ ﱢﺮ‬ ‫ﺎﺱ‬
َ ‫ﻭَﺗ‬  َ ‫َﺃَﺗْﺄ ُﻣ ُﺮ‬
َ ‫ﺍﻟﱠﻨ‬ ‫ﻭﻥ‬
Enjoin you Al-Birr (piety and righteousness and each and every act of obedience to
Allah) on the people and you forget (to practise it) yourselves, while you recite the
Scripture [the Taurat (Torah)]! Have you then no sense?

[2:44]

Usama ibn Zaid radiallahu anahumma said that the Prophet :

ُ ‫َﻳُﺪ‬ ‫ﻛ َﻤﺎ‬ 
 ‫ﻭﺭ‬ َ ‫ﻭﺭ‬ُ ‫ﻓَﻴُﺪ‬ ، َ ‫ﺎﺭ‬ ِ ‫ﺍﻟﱠﻨ‬ ‫ﻓِﻲ‬ ‫ﺃ ْﻗَﺘﺎُﺑ ُﻪ‬ َ ‫ِﻖ‬ َ ‫ﺎﺭ‬
ُ ‫ﻓَﺘ ْﻨَﺪﻟ‬ ، ِ ‫ﺍﻟﱠﻨ‬ ‫ﻓِﻲ‬ ‫ﻓُﻴْﻠ َﻘﻰ‬ َ ‫ﺎﻣ ِﺔ‬ َ ‫ﺍْﻟ ِﻘَﻴ‬ ‫َﻳ ْﻮ َﻡ‬ ‫ﺎﻟﺮ ُﺟ ِﻞ‬
‫ِﺑ ﱠ‬ ‫ﺎء‬ُ ‫ُﻳ َﺠ‬
 ‫ﻛ ْﻨ َﺖ‬  ُ‫ﺲ‬ َ ‫ﺃَﻟ ْﻴ‬ َ ‫ﺷْﺄُﻧ َﻚ‬ ‫ﺎ‬ َ ‫ﻓ َﻼ ُﻥ‬ ُ ‫ﺃ ْﻯ‬ َ ‫ﻮﻥ‬
َ ‫ﻣ‬ ، َ ‫ﻓَﻴ ُﻘﻮُﻟ‬ ،َ ‫ﻋَﻠ ْﻴ ِﻪ‬ َ ‫ﺎﺭ‬ ِ ‫ﺍﻟﱠﻨ‬ ‫ﺃ ْﻫ ُﻞ‬ َ ‫ﻓَﻴ ْﺠَﺘ ِﻤ ُﻊ‬ ،
َ ‫ِﺑ َﺮ َﺣﺎ ُﻩ‬ ‫ﺎﺭ‬ُ ‫ﺍْﻟ ِﺤ َﻤ‬
 ‫ﻭَﺃ ْﻧ َﻬ ُﺎﻛ ْﻢ‬ ،
َ ‫ِﻴﻪ‬ِ ‫ﺁﺗ‬ ‫ﻭ َﻻ‬  َ ‫ﻭﻑ‬ِ ‫ِﺑﺎْﻟ َﻤ ْﻌ ُﺮ‬ ‫ﺁﻣ ُﺮ ُﻛ ْﻢ‬ 
ُ ‫ﻛ ْﻨ ُﺖ‬  ُ ‫ﺎﻝ‬َ ‫ﻗ‬ َ ‫ﺍْﻟ ُﻤ ْﻨ َﻜ ِﺮ‬ ‫ﻋ ِﻦ‬ ‫ﻰ‬
َ ‫ﻭَﺗ ْﻨ َﻬ‬  َ ‫ﻭﻑ‬ ِ ‫ِﺑﺎْﻟ َﻤ ْﻌ ُﺮ‬ ‫َﺗْﺄ ُﻣ ُﺮَﻧﺎ‬
 ‫ِﻴﻪ‬
ِ ‫ﻭﺁﺗ‬ َ ‫ﺍْﻟ ُﻤ ْﻨ َﻜ ِﺮ‬ ‫َﻋ ِﻦ‬

A man will be brought on the Day of Resurrection and thrown in the (Hell) Fire, so
that his intestines will come out, and he will go around like a donkey goes around a
millstone. The people of (Hell) Fire will gather around him and say: O so-and-so! What
is wrong with you? Didn't you use to order us to do good deeds and forbid us to do
bad deeds? He will reply: Yes, I used to order you to do good deeds, but I did not do
them myself, and I used to forbid you to do bad deeds, yet I used to do them myself.

Milestone no. 10:

 ‫ﺑﺎﻃﻞ‬ ‫ﻋﻦ‬ ‫ﻳﺴﻜﺘﻮﻥ‬ ‫ﻻ‬ ‫ﺍﻟﺴﻨﺔ‬ ‫ﺍﻫﻞ‬ ‫ﺩﻋﻮﺓ‬ 
The Call of Ahlus-Sunnah does not Keep Silent about Falsehood

The Prophet :

ُ ‫ﺍْﻟ َﻤ‬ ‫ﺃ ﱠﻣﺘِﻲ‬ ُ ‫ﻭِﻓ ْﺘَﻨ ُﺔ‬ 

 ‫ﺎﻝ‬ َ ‫ِﻓ ْﺘَﻨ ًﺔ‬ ‫ﺃ ﱠﻣ ٍﺔ‬ ُ ‫ﻟ ُِﻜ ﱢﻞ‬ ‫ﺇ ﱠﻥ‬ ِ
Indeed there is a fitnah for every Ummah, and the Fitnah for my Ummah is wealth.

ِ ‫ِﻌ‬
َ ‫ﺟﺎﺋ‬  ِ ‫ﺫ ْﺋَﺒ‬ ‫ﺎ‬
َ ‫ﺎﻥ‬ ِ ‫َﻣ‬
 ‫ِﻪ‬
ِ ‫ﻟِِﺪﻳﻨ‬
Two wolves free among sheep are no more destructive to them than a man's desire
for wealth and honor is to his religion

The Methodology of Ahlus-Sunnah is Infallible

Allah says:

ُ ‫َﻟ َﺤـﻔ‬ ‫َﻟ ُﻪ‬ ‫ﻭِﺇﱠﻧﺎ‬ 

َ ‫ِﻈ‬
 ‫ﻮﻥ‬ ‫َﻧ ﱠﺰْﻟَﻨ ﱢ‬ ‫َﻧ ْﺤ ُﻦ‬ ‫ِﺇﱠﻧﺎ‬
َ ‫ﺍﻟﺬ ْﻛ َﺮ‬ ‫ﺎ‬
Verily We: It is We Who have sent down the Dhikr (i.e. the Quran) and surely, We will
guard it (from corruption).

[15:9]

Abdullah ibn Amr al-’As radiallahu anhumma said:

 ‫ﻓَﻨ َﻬ ْﺘﻨِﻲ‬ َ ‫ﺣ ْﻔ َﻈ ُﻪ‬  ُ

ِ ‫ﺃ ِﺭ ُﻳﺪ‬ ‫ﻭﺳﻠﻢ‬ ‫ﻋﻠﻴﻪ‬ ‫ﺍﷲ‬ ‫ﺻﻠﻰ‬ ِ ‫ﻮﻝ ﱠ‬
‫ﺍﷲ‬  ِ ‫ﺭ ُﺳ‬  َ ‫ﻣ ْﻦ‬  ِ ‫ﺃ ْﺳ َﻤ ُﻌ ُﻪ‬ َ ‫ﺷ ْﻰ ٍء‬  ُ ‫ﺃ ْﻛُﺘ ُﺐ‬ َ ‫ُﻛ ْﻨ ُﺖ‬
َ ‫ﻛ ﱠﻞ‬ 
 ‫َﻳَﺘ َﻜﱠﻠُﻢ‬ ‫َﺑ َﺸ ٌﺮ‬ ‫ﻭﺳﻠﻢ‬ ‫ﻋﻠﻴﻪ‬ ‫ﺍﷲ‬ ‫ﺻﻠﻰ‬ ِ‫ﺍﷲ‬  ‫ﻮﻝ ﱠ‬ ُ ‫ﻭ َﺭ ُﺳ‬ َ ‫َﺗ ْﺴ َﻤ ُﻌ ُﻪ‬ ‫ﺷ ْﻰ ٍء‬  َ ‫ﻛ ﱠﻞ‬  َ ‫ﻭَﻗﺎُﻟ‬ 
ُ ‫ﺃَﺗ ْﻜُﺘ ُﺐ‬ ‫ﻮﺍ‬ َ‫ﺶ‬ ٌ ‫ُﻗ َﺮ ْﻳ‬
‫ﻮﻝ ﱠ‬ َ ‫ﺫﻟ‬ َ ‫ﻓَﺬ َﻛ ْﺮ ُﺕ‬ َ ‫ﺎﺏ‬ َ ‫ﻓَﺄ ْﻣ َﺴ ْﻜ ُﺖ‬ ‫ﺎ‬ َ ‫ﺍﻟﺮ َﺿ‬
 ‫ﻋﻠﻴﻪ‬ ‫ﺍﷲ‬ ‫ﺻﻠﻰ‬ ِ‫ﺍﷲ‬  ِ ‫ِﺮ ُﺳ‬ َ ‫ﻟ‬ ‫ِﻚ‬ ِ ‫ﺍْﻟ ِﻜَﺘ‬ ‫ﻋ ِﻦ‬  َ ‫ﺍْﻟ َﻐ َﻀ ِﺐ‬ ‫ﻓِﻲ‬
‫ﻭ ﱢ‬ 
 ‫ﺣ ﱞﻖ‬ َ ‫ﺇﻻﱠ‬ ِ ‫ﻣ ْﻨ ُﻪ‬  َ ‫ِﺑَﻴِﺪﻩ‬ ‫َﻧ ْﻔ ِﺴﻲ‬ ‫ﻓ َﻮﺍﱠﻟِﺬﻱ‬ َ ‫ﺍﻛُﺘ ْﺐ‬  
ِ ‫َﻳ ْﺨ ُﺮ ُﺝ‬ ‫ﻣﺎ‬ ِ ْ "   ‫ﺎﻝ‬ ِ ‫ﻓ‬ ‫ﺇَﻟﻰ‬ ِ ‫ِﺑُﺄ ْﺻُﺒ ِﻌ ِﻪ‬ ‫ﻓَﺄ ْﻭ َﻣَﺄ‬ ‫ﻭﺳﻠﻢ‬
َ ‫ﻓ َﻘ‬ َ ‫ِﻴﻪ‬ َ

I used to write everything which I heard from the Messenger of Allah (‫)ﷺ‬. I
intended (by it) to memorise it. The Quraysh prohibited me saying: Do you write
everything that you hear from him while the Messenger of Allah (‫ )ﷺ‬is a human
being: he speaks in anger and pleasure? So I stopped writing, and mentioned it to

the Messenger of Allah (‫)ﷺ‬. He signalled with his finger to him mouth and said:
Write, by Him in Whose hand my soul lies, only right comes out from it.

Milestone no. 12:

 ‫ﻣﺎﺩﻳﺔ‬ ‫ﻟﻴﺴﺖ‬ ‫ﺍﻟﺴﻨﺔ‬ ‫ﺍﻫﻞ‬ ‫ﺩﻋﻮﺓ‬ 
The Call of Ahlus-Sunnah is not Materialistic

Allah says:

 ‫ﺳِﺒﻴ ًﻼ‬  َ ‫ﺇَﻟ‬ ِ ‫َﻳﱠﺘ ِﺨَﺬ‬ ‫ﺃﻥ‬ َ ‫ﺂء‬

َ ‫ﺭﱢﺑ ِﻪ‬ ‫ﻰ‬ َ ‫ﺇﻻﱠ‬ ِ ‫ﺃ ْﺟ ٍﺮ‬ َ ‫ﻣ ْﻦ‬ 
َ ‫ﻣ‬ 
َ ‫ﺷ‬ ‫ﻦ‬ َ ‫ﺃ ْﺳَﺄُﻟ ُﻜ ْﻢ‬ ‫ﺂ‬
ِ ‫ﻋَﻠ ْﻴ ِﻪ‬  َ ‫ﻣ‬ َ ‫ُﻗ ْﻞ‬
Say: "No reward do I ask of you for this (that which I have bought from my Lord and
its preaching, etc.), save that whosoever wills, may take a Path to his Lord.

[25:57]

Allah says:

ِ‫ﻋَﻠ ﱠ‬ 
  ‫ﺍﷲ‬ ‫ﻰ‬ َ ‫ﺇﻻﱠ‬ ِ ‫ﺃ ْﺟ ِﺮ َﻯ‬ َ ‫ﺇ ْﻥ‬ ِ ‫ﻣﺎ ًﻻ‬  َ ‫ﺃ ْﺳَﺄُﻟ ُﻜ ْﻢ‬ ‫ﻻ‬ 
َ ‫ﻋَﻠ ْﻴ ِﻪ‬  َ ‫َﻭَﻳ َﻘ ْﻮﻡ‬
ِ
"And O my people! I ask of you no wealth for it, my reward is from none but Allah.

[11:29]

Sufyan ath-Thawri rahimahullah said: “Wealth is the disease of this nation and the
Scholar is the doctor of this nation. So if the Scholar is affected with the disease
who will cure the people?”

 ‫ﺍﻟﻔﻜﺮﻱ‬ ‫ﺍﻟﻐﺰﻭ‬ ‫ﻣﻦ‬ ‫ﻭ‬ ‫ﺑﺎﻟﻜﻔﺎﺭ‬ ‫ﺍﻟﺘﺸﺒﻪ‬ ‫ﺗﺤﺬﺭ‬ ‫ﺍﻟﺴﻨﺔ‬ ‫ﺍﻫﻞ‬ ‫ﺩﻋﻮﺓ‬
The Call of Ahlus-Sunnah Warns Against Imitating the Disbelievers and from the
Ideological Warfare

Allah says:

 ‫ﻣﱠﻠَﺘ ُﻬ ْﻢ‬ 
ِ ‫َﺗﱠﺘِﺒ َﻊ‬ ‫ﺣﱠﺘﻰ‬ ‫ﻯ‬
َ ‫ﺍﻟﱠﻨ َﺼ َـﺮ‬ ‫ﻭ َﻻ‬  ُ ‫ﺍْﻟَﻴ ُﻬ‬ ‫ﻨﻚ‬
َ ‫ﻮﺩ‬ َ ‫ﻋ‬ ‫ﻰ‬
َ ‫َﺗ ْﺮ َﺿ‬ ‫َﻭَﻟﻦ‬
Never will the Jews nor the Christians be pleased with you (O Muhammad Peace be
upon him ) till you follow their religion

[2:120]

The Prophet said:

ِ ‫ﻓ ُﻬ َﻮ‬ َ ‫ِﺑ َﻘ ْﻮ ٍﻡ‬ ‫َﺗ َﺸﱠﺒ َﻪ‬ ‫َﻣ ْﻦ‬

 ‫ﻣ ْﻨ ُﻬ ْﻢ‬ 
He who imitates any people is one of them

[Graded Saheeh by Al-Albaani in Saheeh Jami no. 6149 from Ibn ‘Umar]

The Prophet said:

ِ‫ﻮﻝ ﱠ‬
 ‫ﺍﷲ‬  َ ‫ﺭ ُﺳ‬ ‫ﺎ‬ ُ . " ‫ﻮﻫ ْﻢ‬
َ ‫َﻳ‬ ‫ﻗْﻠَﻨﺎ‬   ُ ‫َﺗِﺒ ْﻌُﺘ ُﻤ‬ ‫ﺿ ﱟﺐ‬  ُ ‫ﺩ َﺧُﻠ‬ َ ‫َﻟ ْﻮ‬ ‫ﺣﱠﺘﻰ‬ 
َ ‫ﺟ ْﺤ َﺮ‬ ‫ﻮﺍ‬ َ ‫ﻗ ْﺒَﻠ ُﻜ ْﻢ‬ َ ‫ﺎﻥ‬ َ ‫ﻣ ْﻦ‬ 
َ ‫ﻛ‬  َ ‫َﻟَﺘ ْﺘَﺒ ُﻌ ﱠﻦ‬
َ ‫ﺳَﻨ َﻦ‬ 
 ‫ﻓ َﻤ ْﻦ‬  َ " ‫ﺎﻝ‬ َ ‫ﺎﺭ‬
َ ‫ﻗ‬ ‫ﻯ‬ َ ‫ﻭﺍﻟﱠﻨ َﺼ‬ 
َ ‫ﻮﺩ‬ُ ‫ﺍْﻟَﻴ ُﻬ‬
You will follow the ways of those nations who were before you,so much so that even
if they entered a hole of a mastigure, you would follow them." We said, "O Allah's
Messenger (‫( !)ﷺ‬Do you mean) the Jews and the Christians?" He said, "Whom
else?"

  ‫ﻳﺼﻠﺤﻬﻢ‬ ‫ﺍﻥ‬ ‫ﺍﷲ‬ ‫ﻭﻳﺪﻋﻮﻥ‬ ‫ﺍﻟﻤﺴﺌﻮﻟﻴﻦ‬ ‫ﺍﻟﻰ‬ ‫ﻳﺘﺰﻟﻔﻮﻥ‬ ‫ﻻ‬ ‫ﺍﻟﺴﻨﺔ‬ ‫ﺍﻫﻞ‬ ‫ﺩﻋﻮﺓ‬
The Call of Ahlus-Sunnah Does not Come Near Those in Responsibility of the Government and They
Supplicate to Allah for their Rectification

Shaikh al-Waadi’ee rahimahullah said: “Knowledge has become the most delicious
of all things to me”

The Prophet said:

 ‫ِﻴﻬﺎ‬ ُ ‫ﻣ ْﺴَﺄَﻟ ٍﺔ‬ 

َ ‫ﻓ‬ ‫ﻭ ِﻛْﻠ َﺖ‬  َ ‫ﺃ ْﻋ ِﻄﻴَﺘ َﻬ‬ ‫ﺍ‬
َ ‫ﻋ ْﻦ‬ ‫ﺎ‬ ُ ‫ﺇَﺫ‬ ‫ﻓﺈﱠﻧ َﻚ‬ َ ‫ﺎﺭ َﺓ‬
ِ ِ َ ‫ﺍﻹ َﻣ‬ 
َ
ِ ‫َﺗ ْﺴﺄ ِﻝ‬ ‫ َﻻ‬ ‫ﺳ ُﻤ َﺮ َﺓ‬  َ ‫ ْﺑ َﻦ‬ ‫ﺍﻟﺮ ْﺣ َﻤ ِﻦ‬ 
‫ﻋ ْﺒَﺪ ﱠ‬ ‫ﺎ‬
َ ‫َﻳ‬
َ ‫ﺃ ِﻋ ْﻨ َﺖ‬ ُ ‫ﻣ ْﺴَﺄَﻟ ٍﺔ‬ 
 ‫ﻋَﻠ ْﻴ َﻬﺎ‬  َ ‫ﻋ ْﻦ‬ ‫ﺎ‬

َ ‫َﻧ ْﻔ ِﺴ َﻚ‬ ‫ِﺇَﻟﻰ‬
'Abdul al-Rahman b. Samurah, do not ask for the position of commander, for if you
are given it after asking you will be left to discharge it yourself, but if you are given it
without asking you will be helped to discharge it.

[Reported by al-Bukhari no. 6622 and Muslim no. 1605]

The Fudayl ibn ‘Iyyad rahimahullah: “If I had a supplication that will be answered,
then I would make it for the leader. It was said to him: Oh Abu Ali, explain this for us.
He said: If I made it for myself it would not be promised for me. If I make it for the
leader he will be rectified. So the servants and the land will rectify because of his
rectification. We were ordered to supplicate for them for rectification. We were not
ordered to supplicate against them even if they oppress and transgress because

their oppression and transgression is upon themselves and their rectification is for
themselves and the Muslims”

The Call of Ahlus-Sunnah Does not Call to Blind-Following 

Allah says:

 ‫ﻭﻥ‬ َ ‫ﺃ ْﻭِﻟَﻴ‬ َ ‫ِﻪ‬
‫ﻗﻠِﻴ ًﻼ ﱠ‬ َ ‫ﺂء‬ ُ ‫ﻣ‬ 
ِ ‫ﺩﻭﻧ‬ ‫ﻦ‬ ِ ‫َﺗﱠﺘِﺒ ُﻌﻮ ْﺍ‬ ‫ﻭ َﻻ‬ 
َ ‫ﺭﱢﺑ ُﻜ ْﻢ‬ ‫ﻦ‬ ‫ﺇَﻟ ْﻴ ُﻜ ﱢ‬ ِ ‫ﻧﺰ َﻝ‬
‫ﻣ ﱠ‬ ‫ﻢ‬ ُ ‫ﻣ‬ 
ِ ‫ﺃ‬ ‫ﺂ‬ َ ‫ﺍﱠﺗِﺒ ُﻌﻮ ْﺍ‬
[Say (O Muhammad) to these idolaters (pagan Arabs) of your folk:] Follow what has
been sent down unto you from your Lord (the Quran and Prophet Muhammad's
Sunnah), and follow not any Auliya' (protectors and helpers, etc. who order you to
associate partners in worship with Allah), besides Him (Allah). Little do you
remember!

From the long Hadith of Baraa ibn ‘Azib radiallahu anhu about the questioning of the
evil person by the two Angels:

‫ﺃ ْﺿ َﻼ ُﻋ ُﻪ‬ َ ‫ِﻴﻪ‬
ِ ‫ﻓ‬ ‫ِﻒ‬ َ ‫ﻗ ْﺒ ُﺮ ُﻩ‬ َ ‫ﻋَﻠ ْﻴ ِﻪ‬ 
َ ‫َﺗ ْﺨَﺘﻠ‬ ‫ﺣﱠﺘﻰ‬  َ ‫ﻭُﻳ َﻀﱠﻴ ُﻖ‬  
َ "  : ‫ﺎﻝ‬ َ .  "

“Two angels will come to him, make him sit up and ask him: Who is your Lord? He
will reply: Alas, alas! I do not know. They will ask him: What is your religion? He will
reply: Alas, alas! I do not know. They will ask: Who was the man who was sent on a
mission among you? He will reply: Alas, alas! I do not know. Then a crier will call from
Heaven: He has lied, so spread a bed for him from Hell, clothe him from Hell, and
open for him a door into Hell. Then some of its heat and pestilential wind will come
to him, and his grave will be compressed, so that his ribs will be crushed together

Imam Shafi’ee rahimahullah said: “The Muslims have agreed that: if a Sunnah is
clarified to someone, it is not allowed for him to leave it off for the saying of any one
else”

The Enemies of Ahlus-Sunnah Lie Upon Them

Allah says:

 ‫ﻮﻥ‬ َ ‫َﺗ ْﻌَﻠ ُﻤ‬ ‫ َﻻ‬ ‫ﻣﺎ‬ ِ َ ‫ﺍﷲ‬  ‫ﻣ َﻦ ﱠ‬  ِ ‫َﻭَﺃ ْﻋَﻠُﻢ‬

Indeed, We sent Nuh to his people and he said: "O my people! Worship Allah! You
have no other god but Him. Certainly, I fear for you the torment of a Great Day!''. The
leaders of his people said: "Verily, we see you in plain error.''Nuh﴾ said: "O my people!
There is no error in me, but I am a Messenger from the Lord of all that exists!) I
convey unto you the Messages of my Lord and give sincere advice to you. And I know
from Allah what you know not.''

[7:59-62]

The Prophet said:

‫ِﻴﻬ ﱠ‬َ ‫ﻓ‬ ‫ﻭُﻳ َﻜﱠﺬ ُﺏ‬

َ ‫ﻓ‬ ‫ُﻳ َﺼﱠﺪ ُﻕ‬ ‫ﺎﺕ‬ ٌ ‫ﺍﻋ‬َ ‫ﺧﱠﺪ‬ َ ‫ﺍﺕ‬
ٌ ‫ﺳَﻨ َﻮ‬ َ ‫ﺎﺱ‬ِ ‫ﺍﻟﱠﻨ‬ ‫ﻋَﻠﻰ‬ ‫ِﻲ‬َ ‫َﺳَﻴْﺄﺗ‬
 ‫ﺍﻟﺮ َﻭ ْﻳِﺒ َﻀ ُﺔ‬ ‫ﺎ‬
‫ﻭ َﻣ ﱡ‬  َ ‫ﻗ‬ ‫ﺍﻟﺮ َﻭ ْﻳِﺒ َﻀ ُﺔ‬ ‫ﺎ‬
َ ‫ِﻴﻞ‬ ‫ِﻴﻬ ﱡ‬ َ ‫ﻓ‬ ‫ﻭَﻳ ْﻨ ِﻄ ُﻖ‬  َ ‫ِﻴﻬ‬

‫ﺍْﻟ َﻌ ﱠ‬ ‫ﺃ ْﻣ ِﺮ‬ ‫ِﻲ‬ ُ ‫ﺍﻟﱠﺘﺎﻓ‬ ‫ﺍﻟﺮ ُﺟ ُﻞ‬ 
‫ﺎﻝ ﱠ‬ َ ‫َﻗ‬
“There will come to the people years of treachery, when the liar will be regarded as
honest, and the honest man will be regarded as a liar; the traitor will be regarded as
faithful, and the faithful man will be regarded as a traitor; and the Ruwaibidah will
decide matters.’ It was said: ‘Who are the Ruwaibidah?’ He said: ‘Vile and base men
who control the affairs of the people.’”

Ahlus-Sunnah are Callers to Security and Safety and They Warn against Bombings

Allah says:

َ ‫ﻣ ْﻬَﺘُﺪ‬ 
 ‫ﻭﻥ‬ ‫ﻭ ُﻫ ْﻢ ﱡ‬  َ ‫ﺃ ْﻭَﻟـﺌ‬ ُ ‫ِﺑ ُﻈْﻠﻢ‬ ‫ﻳﻤـَﻨ ُﻬ ْﻢ‬
َ ‫ﺍﻻﱞ ْﻣ ُﻦ‬ ‫َﻟ ُﻬُﻢ‬ ‫ِﻚ‬ َ ‫ﺇ‬ ِ ‫َﻳْﻠِﺒ ُﺴﻮ ْﺍ‬ ‫ﻭَﻟ ْﻢ‬ 
َ ‫ﺍﻣُﻨﻮ ْﺍ‬
َ ‫ء‬  َ ‫ﺍﱠﻟِﺬ‬
َ ‫ﻳﻦ‬

It is those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah and worship none but Him Alone) and
confuse not their belief with Zulm (wrong i.e. by worshipping others besides Allah),
for them (only) there is security and they are the guided.

[6:82]

Aisha radiallahu anha said:

 ‫ﺃ ْﺻ َﺤﺎِﺑﻲ‬ َ ‫ﻣ ْﻦ‬  ِ ‫ﺭ ُﺟ ًﻼ‬  َ ‫ﻗ‬ َ ‫ﺍْﻟ َﻤِﺪﻳَﻨ َﺔ‬ ‫ﻗِﺪ َﻡ‬ ‫ﺎ‬

َ ‫َﻟ ْﻴ َﺖ‬  " ‫ﺎﻝ‬ َ ‫ﻓَﻠ ﱠﻤ‬ َ ‫ﺳ ِﻬ َﺮ‬ ‫ﻭﺳﻠﻢ‬ ‫ﻋﻠﻴﻪ‬ ‫ﺍﷲ‬ ‫ﺻﻠﻰ‬ 
َ ‫ﺍﻟﱠﻨِﺒ ﱡﻲ‬ ‫ﺎﻥ‬َ ‫َﻛ‬
َ ‫ﺃَﻧ‬ َ ‫ﺎﻝ‬
 ‫ ْﺑ ُﻦ‬ ‫ﺳ ْﻌُﺪ‬ ‫ﺎ‬ َ . " ‫ﻫَﺬﺍ‬ 
َ ‫ﻓ َﻘ‬   َ ‫ﻣ ْﻦ‬  
َ " ‫ﺎﻝ‬ َ ‫ﻓ َﻘ‬ َ ‫ﺳ َﻼ ٍﺡ‬ ِ ‫ﺻ ْﻮ َﺕ‬ ‫ﺎ‬ َ ‫ﺇ ْﺫ‬  
َ ‫ﺳ ِﻤ ْﻌَﻨ‬  ِ . " ‫ﺍﻟﱠﻠ ْﻴَﻠ َﺔ‬ ‫َﻳ ْﺤ ُﺮ ُﺳﻨِﻲ‬ ‫ِﺤﺎ‬
ً ‫َﺻﺎﻟ‬
  ‫ﻭﺳﻠﻢ‬ ‫ﻋﻠﻴﻪ‬ ‫ﺍﷲ‬ ‫ﺻﻠﻰ‬ ‫ﺍﻟﱠﻨِﺒ ﱡﻲ‬ ‫ﻭَﻧ َﺎﻡ‬   َ .‫ﻚ‬ َ ‫ﺟ ْﺌ ُﺖ‬ ،
 َ ‫ﻷ ْﺣ ُﺮ َﺳ‬  ِ ‫ﺎﺹ‬ ٍ ‫ﻭ ﱠﻗ‬ ‫ﻲ‬ َ ‫َﺃِﺑ‬
The Prophet (‫ )ﷺ‬was vigilant one night and when he reached Medina, he said,
"Would that a pious man from my companions guard me tonight!" Suddenly we
heard the clatter of arms. He said, "Who is that? " He (The new comer) replied, " I am
Sa`d bin Abi Waqqas and have come to guard you." So, the Prophet (‫ )ﷺ‬slept
(that night).

Ahlus-Sunnah do not Believe in Revolting Against the Rulers As Long as They are
Muslims, even if they Transgress

The Prophet said:

 ‫ﻓ َﻘ ْﺪ‬ َ ‫ﻴﺮ‬ َ ‫ُﻳ ِﻄﻊ‬ ‫ﻭ َﻣ ْﻦ‬ ،

َ ‫ﺍﻷ ِﻣ‬  َ‫ﻋ َﺼ ﱠ‬ 
َ ‫ﺍﷲ‬ ‫ﻰ‬ َ ‫ﻋ َﺼﺎﻧ‬ 
َ ‫ﻓ َﻘ ْﺪ‬ ‫ِﻲ‬ َ ‫ﻭ َﻣ ْﻦ‬ ، َ‫ﺎﻉ ﱠ‬
َ ‫ﺍﷲ‬  َ ‫ﺃ َﻃ‬ َ ‫ﻓ َﻘ ْﺪ‬ ‫ِﻲ‬
َ ‫ﺎﻋﻨ‬َ ‫ﺃ َﻃ‬ َ ‫َﻣ ْﻦ‬
ِ
َ ‫ﻓ َﻘ ْﺪ‬ َ ‫ﻴﺮ‬
 ،‫ﻋ َﺼﺎﻧِﻲ‬  َ ‫ﺺ‬
َ ‫ﺍﻷ ِﻣ‬  ِ ‫َﻳ ْﻌ‬ ‫ﻭ َﻣ ْﻦ‬ ،‫ِﻲ‬
َ ‫ﺎﻋﻨ‬ َ ‫َﺃ َﻃ‬
He who obeys me, obeys Allah, and he who disobeys me, disobeys Allah. He who
obeys the chief, obeys me, and he who disobeys the chief, disobeys me.

[Reported by al-Bukhari no. 7137 and Muslim no. 1835]

From the Hadith of Ibn ‘Abbas radiallahu anhumma:

 ‫ﺟﺎﻫﻠﻴﺔ‬ ‫ﻣﻴﺘﺔ‬ ‫ﻣﺎﺕ‬ ‫ﺷﺒﺮًﺍ‬ ‫ﺍﻟﺴﻠﻄﺎﻥ‬ ‫ﻣﻦ‬ ‫ﺧﺮﺝ‬ ‫ﻣﻦ‬ ‫ﻓﺈﻧﻪ‬ ،‫ﻓﻠﻴﺼﺒﺮ‬ ‫ﺷﻴﺌًﺎ‬ ‫ﺃﻣﻴﺮﻩ‬ ‫ﻣﻦ‬ ‫ﻛﺮﻩ‬ ‫ﻣﻦ‬
If a person notices in his ruler what he dislikes, he should show patience because he
who departs from the (Muslim) community a cubit, dies like those who died in the
Days of Ignorance

[Reported by al-Bukhari no. 7143 and Muslim no. 1849]

Shaikhul Islaam Ibnul Taymiyyah rahimahullah said: “...And it was said: Sixty years
with a transgressing ruler is more rectifying than one night without a ruler. And
experience/practice clarifies that. So the obligation to have a ruler is religion and
nearness to Allah because it has in it the obedience to the Messenger and obedience
to the Messenger of Allah is from the best means to draw near to Allah”

From the Milestones of the Call of Ahlus-Sunnah is: Ordering the Good and
Prohibiting the Evil

Allah says:

َ ‫ﻭُﺃ ْﻭَﻟـﺌ‬ 
 ‫ِﻚ‬ َ ‫ﺍْﻟ ُﻤ ْﻨ َﻜ ِﺮ‬ ‫ﻋ ِﻦ‬ 
َ ‫ﻭَﻳ ْﻨ َﻬ ْﻮ َﻥ‬ 
َ ‫ﻭﻑ‬ َ ‫ﻭَﻳْﺄ ُﻣ ُﺮ‬ 
ِ ‫ِﺑﺎْﻟ َﻤ ْﻌ ُﺮ‬ ‫ﻭﻥ‬ َ ‫َﻳ ْﺪ ُﻋ‬ ‫ﺃ ﱠﻣ ٌﺔ‬ ُ ‫ﻣ ْﻨ ُﻜ ْﻢ‬ ‫ﻦ‬
َ ‫ﺍْﻟ َﺨ ْﻴ ِﺮ‬ ‫ﺇَﻟﻰ‬ ِ ‫ﻮﻥ‬ ‫َﻭْﻟَﺘ ُﻜ ﱢ‬
 ‫ﻮﻥ‬َ ‫ِﺤ‬ ُ ‫ﺍْﻟ ُﻤ ْﻔﻠ‬ ‫ُﻫُﻢ‬
Let there arise out of you a group of people inviting to all that is good (Islam),
enjoining Al-Ma'ruf (i.e. Islamic Monotheism and all that Islam orders one to do) and
forbidding Al-Munkar (polytheism and disbelief and all that Islam has forbidden).
And it is they who are the successful.

[3:104]

The Prophet said:

َ ‫ﻭَﻟ ِﻜ ْﻦ‬ 
َ ‫ﻣ ْﻦ‬ 
 ‫ﺭ ِﺿ َﻲ‬  َ ‫ﺃ ْﻧ َﻜ َﺮ‬ َ ‫ﻭ َﻣ ْﻦ‬ 
َ ‫ﺳﻠ َِﻢ‬  َ ‫َﺑ ِﺮ َﺉ‬ ‫ﻋ َﺮ َﻑ‬  َ ‫ﻓ َﻤ ْﻦ‬ َ ‫ﻭﻥ‬َ ‫ﻭُﺗ ْﻨ ِﻜ ُﺮ‬ 
َ ‫ﻮﻥ‬ ُ ‫ﺃ َﻣ َﺮ‬ ُ ‫ﻮﻥ‬
َ ‫ﻓَﺘ ْﻌ ِﺮُﻓ‬ َ ‫ﺍء‬ ُ ‫َﺳَﺘ ُﻜ‬
 ‫ﺻﱠﻠ ْﻮﺍ‬ ‫ﺎ‬
َ ‫ﻣ‬  َ ‫ َﻻ‬  " ‫ﺎﻝ‬ َ ‫ﻗﺎُﻟ‬  
َ ‫ﻗ‬ َ ‫ُﻧ َﻘﺎِﺗُﻠ ُﻬ ْﻢ‬ ‫ﺃَﻓ َﻼ‬ ‫ﻮﺍ‬ َ .  " ‫َﻭَﺗﺎَﺑ َﻊ‬

In the near future there will be Amirs and you will like their good deeds and dislike
their bad deeds. One who sees through their bad deeds (and tries to prevent their
repetition by his band or through his speech), is absolved from blame, but one who
hates their bad deeds (in the heart of his heart, being unable to prevent their
recurrence by his hand or his tongue), is (also) fafe ( so far as God's wrath is
concerned). But one who approves of their bad deeds and imitates them is

spiritually ruined. People asked (the Holy Prophet): Shouldn't we fight against
them? He replied: No, as long as they say their prayers.

Milestone no. 20:

‫ﻋﻨﻬﻤﻢ‬ ‫ﺍﻟﻌﺒﺪ‬ ‫ﺍﻻﻫﻮﺍء‬ ‫ﺍﻫﻞ‬ ‫ﺍﻟﺘﻤﻴﺰﻋﻦ‬ :‫ﺍﻟﺴﻨﺔ‬ ‫ﺍﻫﻞ‬ ‫ﺩﻋﻮﺓ‬ ‫ﻣﻌﺎﻟﻢ‬ ‫ﻭﻣﻦ‬
From the Milestones of the Call of Ahlus-Sunnah is: the Distinguishment from the
People of Desires and Staying Away From them

Allah says:

َ ‫ﻳﺚ‬
 ‫ﻏ ْﻴ ِﺮ ِﻩ‬  َ ‫ﻓ‬ ‫ﻮﺿﻮ ْﺍ‬
ٍ ‫ﺣِﺪ‬ ‫ِﻰ‬ ُ ‫َﻳ ُﺨ‬ ‫ﺣﱠﺘﻰ‬ 
َ ‫ﻋ ْﻨ ُﻬ ْﻢ‬ 
َ ‫ﺽ‬ْ ‫ﻓَﺄ ْﻋ ِﺮ‬ ‫ﺎ‬
َ ‫ءﺍَﻳـِﺘَﻨ‬ ‫ِﻰ‬
َ ‫ﻓ‬ ‫ﻮﻥ‬ َ ‫ﻮﺿ‬ ُ ‫َﻳ ُﺨ‬ ‫ﻳﻦ‬َ ‫ﺍﱠﻟِﺬ‬ ‫ﺭَﺃ ْﻳ َﺖ‬ ‫ﺍ‬
َ ‫َﻭِﺇَﺫ‬
َ ‫ِﻤ‬
 ‫ﻴﻦ‬ ‫ﺍْﻟ َﻘ ْﻮﻡ ﱠ‬ ‫ﻣ َﻊ‬ ‫ﻯ‬
ِ ‫ﺍﻟﻈـﻠ‬  ‫َﺑ ْﻌَﺪ ﱢ‬ ‫َﺗ ْﻘ ُﻌ ْﺪ‬ ‫ﻓ َﻼ‬ َ ‫ـﻦ‬
َ ‫ﺍﻟﺬ ْﻛ َﺮ‬  ُ ‫ﺍﻟﺸ ْﻴ َﻄ‬ 
‫ﻨﺴَﻴﱠﻨ َﻚ ﱠ‬ ِ ‫ُﻳ‬ ‫َﻭِﺇ ﱠﻣﺎ‬
ِ
And when you (Muhammad) see those who engage in a false conversation about Our
Verses (of the Quran) by mocking at them, stay away from them till they turn to
another topic. And if Shaitan (Satan) causes you to forget, then after the
remembrance sit not you in the company of those people who are the Zalimun
(polytheists and wrong-doers, etc.).

[6:68]

Allah says:

َ ‫ﻓَﺬ ْﺭ ُﻫ ْﻢ‬ َ
َ ‫َﻳ ْﻔَﺘ ُﺮ‬ ‫ﻭ َﻣﺎ‬ 
 ‫ﻭﻥ‬
so leave them alone with their fabrications

[6:112]

Imam Qurtubi rahimahullah said: “so this indicates the obligation of avoiding the
companions of disobedience if they make apparent their evil because the one who

does not avoid them is pleased with their action. Being pleased with disbelief is
disbelief. Allah says:

 ‫ﻣ ْﺜُﻠ ُﻬ ْﻢ‬ 

‫ﺇﺫًﺍ ﱢ‬ ِ ‫ِﺇﱠﻧ ُﻜ ْﻢ‬
certainly in that case you would be like them

[4:140]

So whoever sits in a sitting of disobedience and does not detest them, then he is
equal in sin. So it is a necessary for him to detest them if they speak about
disobedience and act upon it. If he is not able to detest them, then it is necessary he
stands up from them so that he does not become from the people of this verse...if it
is established avoiding the companions of disobedience as we clarified, then
avoiding the people of innovation and desires is more deserving”

‫ﻭﺍﻟﻘﺮﻳﺐ‬ ‫ﺍﻟﺒﻌﻴﺪ‬ ‫ﻭﻣﻊ‬ ‫ﻭﺍﻟﺼﺪﻳﻖ‬ ‫ﺍﻟﻌﺪﻭ‬ ‫ﻣﻊ‬ ‫ﺍﻟﻌﺪﻝ‬ ‫ﻣﻼﺯﻣﺔ‬ :‫ﺍﻟﺴﻨﺔ‬ ‫ﺍﻫﻞ‬ ‫ﺩﻋﻮﺓ‬ ‫ﻣﻌﺎﻟﻢ‬ ‫ﻭﻣﻦ‬
From the Milestones of the Call of Ahlus-Sunnah is: Holding Fast to Justice with the
Enemy and Friend and the one Far away and the one Near

Allah says:

 ‫ﺍْﻟ َﻮﻟَِﺪ ْﻳ ِﻦ‬ ‫ﺃ ِﻭ‬ َ ‫ﺃﻧ ُﻔ ِﺴ ُﻜ ْﻢ‬ ‫ﻰ‬

َ ‫ﻋَﻠ‬ 
َ ‫ﻭَﻟ ْﻮ‬ َِ ‫ﷲ‬ ‫ﺁء ﱠ‬ ُ ‫ِﺴ ِﻂ‬
ِ ‫ﺷ َﻬَﺪ‬  ْ ‫ِﺑﺎْﻟﻘ‬ ‫ﻴﻦ‬َ ‫ﺍﻣ‬ِ ‫ﻗ ﱠﻮ‬ َ ‫ﻛﻮُﻧﻮ ْﺍ‬ 
ُ ‫ﺍﻣُﻨﻮ ْﺍ‬
َ ‫ء‬ 
َ ‫ﻳﻦ‬َ ‫ﺍﱠﻟِﺬ‬ ‫َﻳ َـﺄﱡﻳ َﻬﺎ‬
 ‫ﻭِﺇﻥ‬  َ ‫َﺗ ْﻌِﺪُﻟﻮ ْﺍ‬ ‫ﺃﻥ‬ ‫ﻯ‬ َ ‫ﺍْﻟ َﻬ َﻮ‬ ‫َﺗﱠﺘِﺒ ُﻌﻮ ْﺍ‬ ‫ﻓ َﻼ‬ ‫ﺎ‬ ُ‫ﻓ ﱠ‬ َ ‫ﻓ َﻘﻴﺮًﺍ‬ َ ‫ﺃ ْﻭ‬ ‫ﺎ‬
َ ‫ِﺑ ِﻬ َﻤ‬ ‫ﺃ ْﻭَﻟﻰ‬ َ ‫ﺎﷲ‬ َ ‫ﻴ‬‫ﻏِﻨ‬  َ ‫َﻭﺍﻻﱞ ْﻗ َﺮِﺑ‬
َ ‫َﻳ ُﻜ ْﻦ‬ ‫ﺇﻥ‬ ِ ‫ﻴﻦ‬
  ‫ﺧِﺒﻴﺮًﺍ‬ 
َ ‫ﻮﻥ‬ َ ‫َﺗ ْﻌ َﻤُﻠ‬ ‫ِﺑ َﻤﺎ‬ ‫ﺎﻥ‬
َ ‫ﻛ‬  َ‫ﻓﺈ ﱠﻥ ﱠ‬ َ ‫ُﺗ ْﻌﺮ ُﺿﻮ ْﺍ‬ ‫ﺃ ْﻭ‬ َ ‫َﺗْﻠ ُﻮﻭ ْﺍ‬
َ ‫ﺍﷲ‬  ِ ِ
O you who believe! Stand out firmly for justice, as witnesses to Allah, even though it
be against yourselves, or your parents, or your kin, be he rich or poor, Allah is a

Better Protector to both (than you). So follow not the lusts (of your hearts), lest you
may avoid justice, and if you distort your witness or refuse to give it, verily, Allah is
Ever Well-Acquainted with what you do

[4:135]

Hafidh Ibn Kathir rahimahullah said: “So follow not the lusts, lest you may avoid
justice;) means, let not desire, lust or the hatred you have against others, lure you
into injustice in your affairs. Rather, stand for justice in all situations. Allah said;

‫ﻟِﻠﱠﺘ ْﻘ َﻮﻯ‬ ‫ﺃ ْﻗ َﺮ ُﺏ‬ َ ‫ﻫ َﻮ‬ 

ُ ‫ﺍﻋِﺪُﻟﻮ ْﺍ‬  َ ‫ﻋَﻠ‬ 
ْ ‫َﺗ ْﻌِﺪُﻟﻮ ْﺍ‬ ‫ﺃﻻﱠ‬ ‫ﻰ‬ َ ‫ﻗ ْﻮ ٍﻡ‬ َ ‫ﺂﻥ‬ َ ‫َﻳ ْﺠ ِﺮ َﻣﱠﻨ ُﻜ ْﻢ‬ ‫َﻭ َﻻ‬
ُ ‫ﺷَﻨ‬ 
(And let not the enmity and hatred of others make you avoid justice. Be just: that is
nearer to piety) when the Prophet sent `Abdullah bin Rawahah to collect the tax on
the fruits and produce of the Jews of Khaybar, they offered him a bribe so that he
would go easy on them. He said; "By Allah! I have come to you from the dearest of the
creation to me (Muhammad), and you are more hated by me than an equivalent
number of apes and swine. However, my love for him (the Prophet ) and hatred for
you shall not prevent me from being just with you.'' On that, they said, "This (justice)
is the basis which the heavens and earth were created. '

[Saheeh-Reported by Malik in al-Muwatta mursal form no. 832 and Ibn Sa’d in
at-Tabaqaat (3/398) and Ibn Ishaaq in al-Maghaazi as is in Sirah Ibn Hisham (3/385).
Also reported by Abu Dawood (3/451) in summarized narration from the Jabir with a
Hasan chain according to the conditions of Muslim]
